I think the only reason that level was so far in the game is because the space atmosphere matches the background of world 7. This has been a common theme easily noticeable with all the world 4 levels being forest theme.

Actually, the overworld glitch went away the moment the save game message disappeared, so you wouldn't actually have had to reset at all...
