I happened onto this video after looking for some of my favorite Peter Hammill songs and found your rendition humorous and compelling at the same time, I can't wait to watch the others, great job!
ive never met a girl who digged peter hammil....a lot of soul just like hammil ..maybe the black room would be coll for her to sing..or not lol my favourite song ..just a tought
Years ago I played keyboards in a Hammill / VDGG project. (which never really got off the ground) I always argued that a Female should sing since very few, if any, could sound like Hammill for any length of time. (This didn't sit well with the project founder /singer) Anyway, great job! I would love to hear you take a stab at "Vision" or "I once wrote some poems" Keep up the great work!

Someone who picks out a song like 'Forsaken Gardens' must really know and love Peter Hammill's songs. And as you interprete it so profound and sensitive, you surely deserve all respect and appreciation of the PH/VdGG-community.

Re: What I said about Hammill being "elite", "unbridled Power etc."..I say this from a perspective of someone who's Mother-Tongue is "English". Re: Unbridled Power etc; perhaps the truest def. of this is someone with a "Vast-expansive Lexicon to Engage any & all potential correspondance". Hammill is, more than anything a Wordsmith (One in the English Language, mostly. A scant song in German..Pt.1).

I must confess that I didn't expect my short vid to have so many viewers already and even a comment! You are right, this kind of music is only for the elite. Nowadays, very few young people listen to such music. I'll always be a prog rock fan and I wish I had been a member of a band (at least backing vocals :))

Peter Hammill is not the easiest vocalist to tackle and you do it very well, keep singing girl...great :-) A wonderful taste in music.
