2) Fact: the song "Amazing Grace" was written to the tune of a bar song. You know, a song people sing when drunk, likely not the best content. But the guy who wrote "Amazing Grace" brought out something beautiful to glorify God.

This is all coming from a Christian musician/rapper A lot of people may only be reached through music like rap/hip-hop, especially a certain sound (why Group 1 Crew could have a good ministry among Black Eyed Pea fans). But in doing this, I agree we should be careful how we do it. God is holy, we can't be flippant about that ; )

As a new reborn christian who found God through music I find the comments debating wether this form of praise is good confusing.I find the talent of some of the holy hip hoppers amazing,surely God owns all music despite if the devil uses it.Can God not see how it is sung from the heart.Having sung to this style of music with the orginal words then after having my eyes opened I sing to the holy version with a love for Jesus and God in my heart God knows this.Music saved me I think it will others

I was a Christian for 25 years of my life, so I did not "give up too soon" sir. Secondly, how would you define "god show up"? Does your god appear in front of you and perform miracles? When you pray for blind, deaf, paraplegic people who are saved and have faith, do all of them get healed and not need a hospital? How does god "show up"? The fact is, the "god" of the bible is not real, and thus cannot show up. I did ask, I sought, and I knocked, and what I found led me away.

Lucifer was a musician and when he was cast out of heaven has not changed. He uses music to deceive and anytime a musician creates a song, the spirit of that musician is always behind the music. He commanded the words to be written and once reading it, you will see how they affect you. sometimes its as simple as you happening to read a passage that addresses a problem you are having. Once you have seen that, you will start talking to Him (praying) and you will see how He can directly affect your life.
the Bible is true..it's the Word of God. It doesn't matter whether it's the oldest book or not, what really matter is that you follow God's Word and rejoice in him, for he will be with you through thick and thin. And the Bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit (God), not just Hebrews...between those were Romans and from other places too. I'm glad to see more people interested about the Word of God, keep on doing it! =)
But how do you know the bible is the word of God? If I believed every claim in every book without verifying the veracity of truth to the claim, somehow I feel as if that would make me less intelligent than I'm capable of being. I guess it comes down to the qualitative difference between making an informed choice and an uninformed choice.
i know that the bible is truth because of biblical predictions made many moons before they came to pass, that came true that were actually real events. 1) Our flesh is of the world. As followers of Christ, YHWH, we have been purified, refined as gold from raw ore. If we borrow something from the world for worship, it too must be refined.
2) Fact: the song "Amazing Grace" was written to the tune of a bar song. You know, a song people sing when drunk, likely not the best content. But the guy who wrote "Amazing Grace" brought out something beautiful to glorify God.

If we take something worldly and make it our own doesnt mean its wrong just mean that we are creative and spread the word of God. And as for your question YES I know the Lord will be pleased. If he wasnt then we would NOT allow our church to be blessed with a Drama team that gets asked to preform at other churches, and we do THIS drama, so I know that the Lord is pleased with us his children.

When you pray for blind, deaf, paraplegic people who are saved and have faith, do all of them get healed and not need a hospital? How does god "show up"? The Lord says to MAKE A JOYFUL NOICE UNTO ME...this means in ANYTHING that PRAISES HIM!!! The Word also says, dance unto me, praising me! NEVER will you find in the Word, that you can ONLY be dancin straight up and down, or ONLY singin hymns. There are MANY ways to praise the LORD! There's nothing wrong with Christians having fun, its hard especially if your a kid or a teenager. Atleast this little boy is saved & clearly loves the Lord. Maybe he feels like he's giving to the Lord, let him. Maybe you should try it ; You'll like it, its cute.

the Hymn a mighty bulwark is our God was banned from the church because during its time it sounded like the world. The Mightly clouds of Joy was kicked out of churches several times because of their style.

There is a serious problem with this. The word says that we should not pattern ourselves after the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This secular song talks about masturbating on women (crank dat souljaboy) and supersoaking that ho... How dare the adults train these young children in a way that is so worldly, ungodly, and against the scriptures, then put the Holy Ghost on it... blaspheming the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven... Lord have mercy!

i think ur mis-understanding the sudject kids r gonna listen to what their friends r listening to ....so this way they can do that without corupting their minds...and i think when the word says that it means we are not to follow the pattern of the sin in the world ..anyways i think god loves anything that lifts him up and he'll honor this.

The heart of the people who made that song follows the music and church folk, whether they young or old shouldn't be taking things from this world and bring it in the church... Be not deceived; God is not mocked. The bible clearly warns us about taking on the patterns of this world and bringing it into the church. Lucifer was a musician and when he was cast out of heaven has not changed. He uses music to deceive and anytime a musician creates a song, the spirit of that musician is always behind the music. When we take beats from sexually perverse, whoremongering, drug using people of the world, switch the words, and call it the Holy Ghost, that is blasphemy...

well then maybe you should just stop being so religious in your way of thinking & see that this kind of music is what the "world" likes, therefore, if you take and change the lyrics to glorify Jesus Christ, maybe, just maybe, the song would be appealing to those living in the world who already enjoy this type of music.. sounds good to me ~

@jkpification but in 2 corinthians 5:17 it says: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. u probably know that. so how would he be a new creature if he still does old things? case in point you do that same dance, to the same music, with the same lyrical pattern just words changed here and there. again, it's like giving someone a dirty spoon saying i wiped it a bit so it's not dirty anymore.

@dboydustin Christains use the term "faith" for a reason. Just as you have faith that when you sit at the dinner table, your chair will hold you up, a Christian has faith that everyday they are living with the protection and love of a almighty being that created them in His image.

He commanded the words to be written and once reading it, you will see how they affect you. sometimes its as simple as you happening to read a passage that addresses a problem you are having. Once you have seen that, you will start talking to Him (praying) and you will see how He can directly affect your life.

the Bible is true..it's the Word of God. It doesn't matter whether it's the oldest book or not, what really matter is that you follow God's Word and rejoice in him, for he will be with you through thick and thin. And the Bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit (God), not just Hebrews...between those were Romans and from other places too. I'm glad to see more people interested about the Word of God, keep on doing it! =)

But how do you know the bible is the word of God? If I believed every claim in every book without verifying the veracity of truth to the claim, somehow I feel as if that would make me less intelligent than I'm capable of being. I guess it comes down to the qualitative difference between making an informed choice and an uninformed choice.

i know that the bible is truth because of biblical predictions made many moons before they came to pass, that came true that were actually real events.
