what does pre-loading do? Does it just make it download faster when it comes out?

It allows me/you to escape slow download/no download on release day so allows me to play straight away on launch day without any download.

not late, depends where you live, if your an aussie gamer, like me, you can get it on steam like a week earlier than retail :P
