@Meg62685@randomgirl159357@allout1034 I'm not saying theres no racism in Brazil, there's racism everywhere, and yes, the poorest people are black indeed, but I think the slums are just a small (and shrinking) part of the country (8.5% in 2011), and a black, indian or asian person may feel more "at home" and feel more welcomed than they would in USA. Even in the slums you'll find a happy and open people! I invite you to watch this add broadcasted recently down here: /watch?v=wi0rAtAZihQ
I Invite you to visit my channel "What's Like Brazil?" where you will find many lists with hundreds videos about what's like Brazil and the life in Brazil.
Brazil is called Latin America's miracle????wtf??..notice she said most of the prisoners are BLACK!....does that ring a bell?.....where's all the money at?...in places like Impanana and Copacabana etc....and who owns and run those places? (I dont have to say it, you know who do) so in my opinion, Brazil is no different than the US...WOW!...the similiaries between the Blacks down there and up here are strikingly the same...Too much racism everywhere....its a shame..
@allout1034 I understand your point, just wanna do 3 comments: 1st - Actually Brazil is not part of Latin America, becouse we dont speak spanish. Brazil is the only country colonized by Portugal, so we speak portuguese and know nothing about Spain, Mexico and MTV Latina (we got our own cool MTV Brasil). :)
@allout1034 2nd - Brazil has the second largest black population in the world (after Nigeria). And by saying "black", we often don't include all crossbred as they do in USA, we can see the diference between "almost white", "mixed" and "almost black". Of course, their grandparents were slaves, so most of them are poor nowadays. But the problem here is not exactly your colour, is your money and your connections! A black rich is respected and a white poor guy is treated like garbage as well.
@allout1034 and 3rd - in Brazil you will find almost every culture mixed up without engaging fights: arabs, jews, africans, koreans, italians, chinese, japanese... I would say even more than in NY, where this cultures lives in separate bunkers! We are very opened to foreign travellers, our hospitality is known abroad. In São Paulo's center you will find a shining blond girl kissing some big black dude and no one notices.. Brazil is a really cool place to live, if you don't have fear of working!
@matrancer Brazil is very racist people like to hide behind the "racial democracy" ideal but that is bs Blacks in Brazil are not financially mobile like Black people in the U.S. its so obvious.
@matrancer ...if that is the case...why create the video?....apparently you didnt see the disparity between the Blacks and the whites did you?....usually in most of those slums, you see almost over 70% are Black or at least close to it...and btw, all Blacks are not lazy and have no fear of working....that image is created by the MEDIA, just like right here in the USA...if the MEDIA focused on white crimes as much as black, then the statistics would show a different story......racism is dominant
@Meg62685 .....thank you, Meg.....apparently matrancer is not telling the whole story about Brasil....not saying that he's wrong, but he's definitely not right...
God bless those prisoners :( many of them are guilty yes, but many are also innocent. everyone deserves a second chance, even if your a prisoner. These men go into drug trafficking because when you live in the favelas, you are not educated enough to understand that going into trafficking is bad. People who are educated understand, but these people do not because they do not receive the education that you and i have. therefore, it is not there fault. God bless the beautiful country Brasil
@randomgirl159357 ...you are right randomgirl.....dont understand why matrancer doesnt see this...the statement that he made "Brazil is really a cool place to live, if you dont have fear of working" do not sit well with me..seems like he saying something different (racism?) here..
ahah she said " a city overlooked by christ ". She meant the statue that is looking @ rio but in western english "overlook" means to ignore completely.
@radiovaral No one here commented that you speak Spanish. No one here commented that Rio is the capital. No one here said all of Brazil is a Favella. No one here said the U.S. has anything to do with Brazil. So what's the point of your anger towards America? What did America do to you? Stop spreading hate. This report was very fair and balanced.
HAHA OK Enjoy trade relations with china my friend. As a Canadian I love Brazil it is a beautiful country while I have only been to Rio and Sao Paulo I have seen a beautiful people who dont hate the US or anyone. Please build all the trade you feel you need but you might want to remember that Free trade of the Americas membership and trade relations with the US IE Foreign direct investment from wall street are partly responsible for Brazils booming economy. PS The US is FAR from bankrupt.
@radiovaral i like Rio, i am from the united kingdom in the EU but maybe next year i wouldn't mind coming over to Rio getting a job and staying for months. i plan on working/hiking my way around the world. so Rio would be a could choice to start exploring south america. i see your point on the USA though but Canada is a good country
@radiovaral yeah u dont need us...just your entire monetary system is based on ours and without us trade and aid your country would be fucked..other than that ur good

Tell the truth, your shit, and talk to this journalist that you are only in the traffic because it is easier to get honest work with what is harder.
I am a lawyer and studied in State College in Guadalupe Antonio Francisco Lisboa, and in my room only had people like me, a resident of the community.
The business is the ease and panache, not this crap for poor guy with no option, because it is a fallacy rather than beat.

Documentary amateur ...
You are generalizing isolated facts.
This documentary is not intended to inform the current situation in Brazil, but rather to tarnish the image of the country hosting the World Cup in 2014.
Brazil has its problems yes, but not so widespread that it is placed in this amateur video. Is passing the idea that the Rio is at war, which is not true. And who are you to talk to someone? And wars do you do? You fund wars in Africa and exploit Africa for profit!
