  • DAMN. thats some damn good sparring. Take notes boys. this is how people should be sparring. nice control and rhythm

  • GUESS WHAT, BJ PENN BROKE GSP'S NOSE IN THE FIRST FIVE SECONDS.... just saying

  • I COULD AGREE THAT GSPS STRIKING ISNT AS GOOD AS ALVES BUT I DISAGREE WITH HIM NOT BEING A GOOD STRIKER,I MEAN COME ON LET ME SEE U GET IN THERE AND BEAT UP ANYBODY WITH UR PUNCHES,..

  • Before the Condition, body shots made me drop to the ground breathless. now i can take them way good. and leg kicks still hurt a bit though, ive only been training for a year.

  • yeah but mma isnt just stand up its all aspects thats why gsp is the best because he is one of the best all around fighters

  • Hey guys, i have the complete UFC event collection on DVD (UFC 1 – UFC 117) + UFC fight night collection (fight night 1 – fight night 21) + the ultimate fighter collection (season 1 – season 11), if you are interested in buying, then send me a message.

  • Gsp does not have better stand up than alves look at the fight and compare the explosiveness of alves kicks to gsp, thiago alves is like a snowball he builds momentum as the fight goes on, every time alves would build momentum gsp would take him down and stop it gsp used mma to beat thiago alves but in a straight kick boxing fight thiago would beat gsp

  • Prolly right, Alves has true muay thai skill, but gsp only used his striking for takedowns. When Alves was looking for an exchange gsp throw quick punches to bait thiago then got an easy takedown. Alves was just so aggressive, that his striking made it easy for gsp to counter with takedowns, and alves would still push forward. Imo i think he should have made gsp fight at his pace, rather then push forward, keep gsp thinking, then he wont feel confident in shooting.

  • but its MMA

  • @mohawkgangster well lol, it is a MMA fight, so what do you mean he uses MMA to beat him, it's not a boxing match and in that fight GSP picked him apart with KICKS...and takedowns

  • People don't understand HYPE.... The facts are this.. GSP is a great fighter all around. His wrestlign has improved dramatically, but he's always abeen a really good striker. He's fast and athletic with his strikes.. They spent the last month hyping up Dan Hardy's stand up, and look what GSP did to him. That entire fight was complete domination, GSP outclassed dan hardy in MMA.

  • @Stifledsubmission but that had nothing to do with him being a striker it has to due with british not knowing how to wrestle

  • @Stifledsubmission

    outclassed on the ground

lame way to win but it got gsp a victory....again

  • its no secret that GSP just wants a WIin MMA, so he does what's safest for him.. I can tell that he doesn't like the fact that most fans are upset he doesn't finish fights with Ko's and submissions recently, so he's planning on working on that. But if you wanna see a close fight with high chance of K.O. A GSP fight is not for you. I think of GSP as a modern day Royce Gracie, i know that sounds retarded, but he uses his wrestling to take other fighters out of their elements

  • humm no i think alves had stronger kick but ,dont have the skill to beat st-pierre,too fast sorry

  • @mohawkgangster well said.

  • @mohawkgangster

    hell yes he would

  • @mohawkgangster

lol but in a straight up streetfight gsp would just take him down and beat him

  • @mohawkgangster gsp also tore his groin in the second round and still took down alves with no effort

  • @chitownp1noy 4th round*

  • @mohawkgangster you know why there is no straight kick boxing fight? because UFC is for everything which is why GSP is beating everyone so far with only 2 losses. what titles does alves have? hes a good muay thai fighter but thats it. the reason gsp won is because he is well rounded so that means he will beat alves if there was a kicking, boxing match only.

  • @mohawkgangster Uh I don't wanna sound cliche or rude but, No shit Sherlock! LOL!

  • dont know why people say alves would have knock out gsp if it never happened dont keep thinking alves have would do this and that he LOST against gsp thats the truth

  • To Thiago's credit his grappling was very good defensively. He managed to recover guard from very bad positions. He did much better on the ground than B.J. Also he was taken down at will but stood back up nearly everytime. I see these two fighting again in the near future and i see a much more competitive fight.

  • Dude he's way bigger than BJ pen!! n i mean physical wise I mean this guy was in way better shape than BJ penn for the fight!!!

  • Alves has better stand up, he just needs to work on his ground game and grappling. Gsp is one of the few people who have successfully taken down alves. im looking forward to a rematch later on

  • thiago alves does not have a better stand up than either gsp or bj penn.

  • buddy are you serious? why do you think gsp kept taking alves down??? gsp knows alves will ko his ass in standup so he just laid on him.gsp kicked penns ass so im most deff sure alves would to, look how fucken big he is, penns a small 170

  • GSP did the same thing to penn! he lay on him for 4 rounds! penn would have knock his ass out if GSP would have stand wit him!

  • What are you talking about GSP owned him standing up too.

  • Bro do you not know anything about MMA !! listen GSP is famous for taking ppl down his wrestling is great for one reason only his timing is perfect!! now he uses that to his advantage cause he's able to mix it up! he makes fighters believe that he's going to trade with them and out of the nowhere he just takes them down!! which confuses a fighter cause they don't know whether to defend the take down or to trade with him!! there is no fucking way that GSP is better than thiago in the standing up!

  • Okay, you listen. I know MMA, trust me. I never said GSP is better than Thiago in stand up. I was replying to someones comment saying BJ would have knocked GSP out if they kept it standing. I don't think that true, seeing how GSP kept dominating BJ with jabs and superman punches. My favorite fighter in the world is GSP. Thiago would probably be a bit too much for GSP standing up seeing how hes so much bigger and he uses Muay Thai knees and elbows way more.

  • We can actually probably compare GSP and Thiago's stand up. Just watch the Thiago vs Fitch fight coming up. Remember how GSP killed Fitch for 5 rounds with his stand up? We'll see how Thiago does against Fitch.

  • Idk bro there's not much to compare!!! the truth of the matter is thiago is a beast! and he's probably going to knock Fitch out if he keeps it standing!!! Fitch is tough but thiago will owned him!!!

  • Penn is very good on the ground too , but he will never knock GSP even if he stand. GSP is better than Penn there is nothing left to say

  • @HITMANDREAM better at greasing maybe

  • I don't think so , i realy like Alves but I think GSP's stand up is better but Alves is more agressive. Two very good fighters

  • who won dat fight

  • Pitbull ofc

  • Obviously not, did you miss UFC 100 or something?

  • hahaha

  • lol. fight was dissapointing to say the least.

  • thats my gym

  • Lmfao. Alves was a Brazilian Mauy Thai champ. His striking is stellar to say the very least. He has a wicked counter left hook, crazy knees, amazing leg kicks, and power in all his punches. He's got a crazy counter cross as well.

He has excellent defensive wrestling, his ability to get up off his back is second to none in his weight class, maybe even in all of MMA. He holds a very legit brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

  • my opinion, Thiago Alves strong striker indeed. But the way he plants his feet makes it so easy for gsp to take him down. idk to me, a little more foot work, and light on his toes will keep gsp guessing the next move. Thiago is a very strong guy no doubt, but if his boxing got a lil better hed at least get more punches in.

  • You want to plant your feet so you can sprawl easier, if you are light and bouncy on your feet you are gonna get taken down. When facing strikers it's sometimes smart to be light on your feet so you can avoid punches and things, against wrestlers it's a great way to get taken down.

Alves has pretty good footwork actually, his striking pedigree shows very clearly. GSP's timing is what really killed Alves, but that just speaks to GSP's ability to combo TDs and strikes.

  • i think its cause hes been training muay thai since he was 17. thai fighters are trained to stay on their toes so that they can counter quick with kicks but they are not very mobile when they fight. you see how alves just kinda walks into combos

  • and i alves has more than mediocre boxing. after all we have never seen him in a straight boxing match. he doesnt fight like a boxer as i said before, he fights like a kickboxing stylist

  • i wouldnt say he got outboxed. thiago has striking more geared for kickboxing with most setups from kicks coming from his hands. lytle is mostly hands and throws with alot of heat. they tend to use their hands differently. lytle throws to end fights with his hands while thiago may do the same, but also uses them in setups for kicks

  • cdnp4p is a fucking retard

  • Actually im not. Alves has mediocre boxing. The guy got outboxed by Chris Lytle.

  • Alves boxing needs work. It showed in the GSP fight.

  • Nah, he couldn't use his striking because he had to watch for GSP's take downs.

It's hard to let your hands go when you're going to get taken for a ride by GSP.

Top level wrestling almost neutralizes top level striking.

He need to get his foot work down, his striking is leathal.

  • Well I love his kicks, but his hands need work in my opinion. Still awesome though.

  • ya he was to afraid of gsp

  • You're ignorant, read espada9's comment.

  • Hes not so much a good striker, but he is an explosive one. Hes just a smart fighter who relies heavily on his fantastic wrestling ability.

  • I LIKE PUSSY ITS NICE!

  • GSP, i think, is an even better P4P fighter that Anderson Silva. and i dont like either of them, Silva or GSP.. but GSP is absolutely amazing in the octagon. he is so smart and calm. but Thiago did an excellent job in that fight if you ask me. he did an awesome job of staying away from GSP's ground game, and did pretty good in the stand up. unfortunately, GSP just was too much for Thiago to handle.. But that fucker is only 24 or 25! He will be one of the best we've seen some day. Watch..

  • if the fight again gsp is gona lose

  • youre blind then mate.

  • actually he is a great striker but his wrestling and strenght often outshine his other great abilitys

  • over time. just like your dad.

If you dont have anything constructive to say then GTFO of here u wank

  • Can't wait for the Pitt to attack gsp like he should have.

U have to understand alves looks upto gsp just like gsp used to look upto Hughes... U do remember gsp loosing to Matt Hughes and crying after wards don't you???

  • ondgoe,,, were you born GAY, or did you just become GAY over time?

  • Jesus fucking Christ, how can you say GSP isnt a good striker? He doesnt use it because he doesnt have to. The man is intelligent, he has a game plan everytime he fights and executes it well. Why stand up and risk getting knocked out when he can take it to the ground where he has the greater advantage. You all saw how tired Thiago alves was on the ground, he has to support GSP's weight as well as struggle with his own trying to scramble back onto his feet. Thiago did a good job (Y) no doubt.

  • @doogenDUZit

fighters use that tactic when their stand up isnt as good as their opponents stand up

a very lame way to win a fight, but it got gsp his victory

  • well I guess all the Alves guys r lickin their wounds just like the poor pitbull. everyone was saying gsp's a mediocre striker?! Alves didn't get in one clean shot through 25 min and gsp's all around game clearly affected Alves's aggressiveness during the stand up. dominant.

  • gsp knows how to use his reach

  • lebsock00 you are fucking stupid it's obvious Thiago's striking is a step above goerges. The wrestling was the only thing that overwhelmed Thiago. Dip shit.

  • did you miss the part where gsp dropped thiago from strikes?

  • sexy boy

  • THIS GUYS GOING TO BE THE FALL OF CANADA

  • yup gsp has the best wrestling for MMA....he isnt a wrestling purist which is what makes him good.

  • why GSP wont fight standing up?

  • GSP is a great fighter...But Thiago Alves is a warewolf chewing on a hand grenade. Alves will break GSP's femur with leg kicks. Thaigo will make GSP wish he was matt hughes...fighting matt serra...fighting shonie carter.

  • Can we at least all agree that GSP is faster than Thiago?

Noone says that GSP is more muscular or ultimately must be a lot more powerful with strikes.

This fight will be a cardio-fight - if GSP can increase the pace throughout, Thiago will not be able to keep up due to the simple fact that more muscle means more oxygen demand.

  • there is no way in hell that gsp is a far better wrestler than koschek, thats all koschek does 24/7 and I hate it lol.I dnt think gsp is going to win.If "matt serra" can ko gsp I dnt see why alves cant

  • Matt Sera landed a lucky looping punch to the back of GSP's head (technically illegal), and messed up his equilibrium resulting in a TKO not a KO.

GSP is better now then he was then, so unless Alves can land the same lucky punch, he's not going to KO/TKO anybody.

  • Ko anybody? Considering nearly all his fights have ended by tko or ko thats abit of a weird comment to make. How can you say he couldnt KO GSP anyway? Hes by far the strongest person hes ever faced as he walks around at almost 200 pound. Hes got the Skill and power to KO anyone. Theres no such thing as a lucky punch either

  • "Theres no such thing as a lucky punch either" You're obviously not a fighter.

How can I say he won't? Simple, GSP has never been fully KO'd. Make no mistake I like Thiago as he's one of my favourite welterweights ever, but this is going to be a battle of technique vs strength. And when it's all said and done GSP is by far the more technical out of the two. I think if he puts Alves on his back, the fight will be over soon after that.

    But that's just my $.02

  • As it happens i do compete but that doesnt really make any difference. You cant say its a lucky punch, he threw it with the intention of hitting gsp didnt he? Also i think everyone learned that at the top level size and strength does make a big difference. Look at gsp and bj. I think bj is more technical but gsp outmuscled him. And not being fully KO'd doesnt mean he cant get knocked out either, look at nog and hes got a good chin, not like georges.

  • You really, really need to learn more about the aspects of fighting. I can't stress that enough.

  • lol ok

  • i've never seen anyone in the ufc tap due to strikes though lol

  • forest griffon to rashad evans

  • ufc 69 was before 92

  • Are you serious? You need to watch more fights.

And there's nothing wrong with tapping from strikes. It's no different than tapping from submission.

  • Kos does hardly any wrestiling these days and just because kos might have a few medals in wrestling it doesnt mean his wrestling is as good as GSP's atall. Plus gsp has learnt all his wrestling to apply to mma rather then kos learning it in a collegate rule set.

  • And if Fitch can TKO Alves I dont see why GSP cant!! And Kos almost never trains his wrestling anymore

  • Maybe because GSP is a french guy!

    lol

Why don't french people usually knock people out?

  • why always people bring the fitch stuff jesus..... hes been a looooong time ago so relax

  • I was responding to a comment that said "f "matt serra" can ko gsp I dnt see why alves cant". I brought up Fitch to show MMA Math does not work.

  • Man, what you dont understand is: Fitch CANT kos Alves NOW. Or can I say: if Serra can kos GSP, why Alves cant? Thats stupid. Alves is another level now.

  • What the hell is kos??? do you mean KO.

  • Gsp's striking in comparison to other upper-echelon MMA fighters is about average. Bj Penn in his first UFC fight in years, sent him to the hospital after the fight from so many punches, then gsp got beat so bad from strikes from Matt Serra that he rolled over and tapped out. From then on he almost quit striking and has been taking people down and wrestling his way to victory. The only people georges "out-struck" were wrestlers in Jon Fitch, Matt Hughes Koscheck and Sean Sherk. Mediocre stand-up.

  • You forgot He out struck Serra in the second fight (he took him down allot but when they were standing GSP outclassed him on the feet) and BJ (Did Vaseline help him in the stand up) even in round one were no grease was involved and BJ was fresh. The fact that you keep bringing up Penn shows that your just a bitter BJ fan that cant except that BJ got his ass kicked. Alves can win (he has great KO power) but if Fitch killed Alves and GSP killed fitch how can Alves win?

  • Most people are able to out-strike Matt serra lol. And no I realize Bj got beat up bad. Any time you hear about a towel being thrown in its bad. Im just saying, against moderately ok strikers he doesnt do well. he does well against wrestlers and JiuJitsu artists. Im guessing your new to mma too, because you cant say "Well HE beat him, and THIS guy beat that guy, so therefore he will win." Too many examples to list how that is wrong. Alves is a great striker. Gsp doesnt do well against strikers.

  • Jon Fitch beat Alves 3 years ago you're making it seem like Alves didn't step up his game.3 years is a big gap to improve and his record shows it.

  • agree, his skill alone has improved leaps and bounds. his defense has looked much better(had a good chin already, and you know its getting tested everyday at ATT) but his size and strength have improved as well.

  • alves is totally different since his lost to fitch, if thats the case, im sure 85% of the welterweight division could knock out matt serra, does that mean that they can all knock out gsp? gsp out wrestles alot of fighters, he smashed fitch who's base is bjj not striking.

  • Fitch's base is wrestling! He got his black belt in BJJ way later, and I don't see him bubmit anybody. He was the cptain of Purdues wrestling team.

  • the only way gsp can win is if he brings it 2 the ground, and how the fuck is he going 2 do that?? if josh koschek couldnt bring the pitbull down.and koschek is a real talented wrestler.I am a big gsp fan but it looks like he has his hands full.BRING THAT FUKIN BELT 2 SOUTH FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • josh koschek got taken down at will by GSP and completely out wrestled! Kos tried to stand with alves and only shot for a takedowns when he was rocked late in the fight. Also fitch, Karo and hughes took Alves down and GSP is by far the best wrestler in MMA (87% takedown). Penn has the second best takedown defense in mma and GSP took him down at will. Alves has a chance but there is a reason why Vagas has him as something like a 4 to 1 underdog to GSP.

  • Kos was quoted saying that he thought his wrestling was much better than gsp's so he didnt properly prepare for a wrestling fight, and also gsp didnt take down bj penn at will, he really had to work to get him down. And once he was down he couldnt do anything (of the first fight, the second greased fight, well..)

I think alves has a perfectly good chance of the upset. More punching power, better striker altogether, and its hard to shoot in on a good striker. alves by tko.

  • Kos also didn't train almost at all for Alves (he took the fight on short notice).

when gsp fought penn the secont time Greg Jackson and GSP have both said there strategy was to shoot for a single and tire him out by making BJ jump around on one foot and then clinch with him to got BJ's arms tied. when Penn gassed in the second GSP took him down at will. And was the dime sized "grease" (the same Grease that was wiped off) the reason gsp out struck Penn 2 to 1 in the first?

  • i think gsp will only win this fight if he takes it to the ground and submits thiago

  • i think thiago will take this just on power alone and his takedown against matt was amazin...not to mention hes big as fuck

  • the next Champ

  • hey i've wrestled almos all my life....and everyone knows wrestling is a big aspect of mma...

gps is the better wrestler but there is a diffrence between wrestling those others guys gsp takes down...and trying to take down thiago alves....alves is a beast....

both of the guys are badass though...I can't wait to see the fight....

  • This is not going to be a wrstling match between them. Gsp might take him down to get him tired, but his striking is light years ahead of the Pitbull. Unless Thiago gets lucky like Serra, hes going to take a tougher whooping then Fitch did. Mark my words!

  • WTF? thiago has the best striking at 170, its not even a contest. Yes GSP is very good standing up but no way is he better than thiago there

  • are u retarded alves has much better striking than gsp u must be thick as fuck to make a comment like that

  • Whos the dumb fuck now you stupid bitch! I told your dumb ass gsp striking is so much better. But guys like you who dont understand a damn thing about mma, have their heads so far up their pussies they cant see shit like that. Did I mention how fucking incredibly wrong your stupid moron ass was about Alves and GSP?

  • hahahaha you love this shit dont ya, gsp proved alves was not ready yet basically gsp was more well rounded by comment was alves has a better striking game which he does hes really good muay tai fighter, but gsp wrestling and ground games is class, gsp tho said it himself that give alves a few more years and he will be at the top, jst like how gsp did after loosing to hughes when they first fought, and by the way a do mma and muat tai and i fight so a no about this sport ok

  • Alves is a big dude and has good skill but he couldn't get past fitch in their fight and sure he has improved since then but GSP steam rolled through fitch and gets better every fight but either way should be one of GSP's toughest fights to date !

  • Alves has awesome takedown defense but GSP isnt MAtt Huges and hes not Josh cockcheck, hes not the average wrestler hes a beast

  • Alves FTW!! he's no BJ the weakass Penn, he will win against GSP!!

  • Comment removed

  • GSP IS GOING TO CRUSH THIS ROID MONKEY!

  • thiago will knock him out

  • Both, are great fighters and it will be a good fight. I'll be rooting for George, but all the luck to Alves because he's a beast and if he can beat GSP he deserves that tittle lol

  • im canadien and i want thiago alves to win .. just like him more .. personal preference... just because your from the country the fighter is from doesnt mean he HAS to win .. gsp is bomb tho.. thiago all the way

  • there really is no preparing for GSP..Thiago won't know what hit him

  • u gsp nut huggers really do think hes unbeatable dont ya hahaha the pit bull is far superior on his feet hits alot harder and has great sprawl take down defence, gsp wont just be able to throw thiago around, he even admits himself in a interview on u tube that thiago is by far his hardest opponent to date, a have respect for gsp but this ia a much closer fight than u gsp fans would like to believe ur boy could get his ass owned, personally am goin for thiago

  • gsp is the best wrestler....full stop...thats what will win this fight

  • Funny, doesn't Alves have awesome take down defense? I'm Canadian btw and I hope Alves beats the shit out of GSP.

  • You're not Canadian. Don't lie bitch.

No one has been able to stop GSP's take downs. And Alves doesn't even have a wrestling background. He's fucked.

  • How the fuck would you know if I'm Canadian or not? Or are you just making false claims. I don't like hockey either, wtf are you going to do? Be an internet tough guy? Chuckle chuckle no one can stop GSP. Haha Alves has awesome takedown defense and awesome stand up in striking and kicks let alone he will come into the fight at GSPs size which is around 200 pounds. Go suck a nut when GSP gets beat faggot loser.

  • ur oubvi not canadian

  • I'm in Winnipeg, idiot. Shit city, yet that makes me Canadian since I have been here all my life fucken idiot.

  • isnt it oubvi?

  • Co sign

  • you're Canadian...nuff said LOL.

  • hey dleerox..

have u heard the one where GSP defeats Hercules and then saves David from the lion's den?!

    that ones my favorite! lmao

  • he massive 4 170 very big built roids probly got sumat 2 do we that

  • They test for roids you fucking moron....

  • Theres plenty of ways to beat steroid testing if you know when they are going to be performed. Random testing is the only real way to cut out roids from MMA.

  • No head movement.

  • head movement is summit that u are told to loose alot of in muay tai as is opens u up to knees and angles for elbows, a train muay tai and they show u to block with hands more than slip punches and bob and weave

  • alves is a different man than he was 4 or 5 years ago he has the best chance of beating st oierre

  • pitbull is great figghter with ko power striking and hard defense but gsp is fast acurate and ko power too explosive for pitbull to handle

  • On an other note, his training partner kinda sucks @ muay thai. If I had the money id' just hire a pro muay thai fighter to spar with.

  • Diego Sanchez is a bitch who's sacred to fight Thiago Alves.

  • you're an idiot.

  • ha ha hah ahahah

  • if it stays on the feet alves for sure

if it goes to the ground ?

  • alves has so much fucking raw power in his striking,i think if he can keep the fight on the feet,he will maul gsp

  • I predict that Alves will beat GSP not because he has more skill ,cuz GSP is a beast, but purley off brute force and power. It's gunna be a great fight.

  • GSP trains w/ pro champ boxers. Compared to this guy who looks like he'd make an okay bouncer.

  • That guy is not thiago's boxing coach his boxing coach is some ex us gold olimpic medalist who trains at a.t.t.

  • Sure.

And GSP trains w/ pro title holders in boxing, Olympic medalists for wrestling. And been doing this since he was 8.

Another Thiago fault I see is his weight gain after weigh ins. Not healthy, he's gonna come in too tired.

  • he walks around between 190 and low 200, that weight gain is normal. Thats why has been known to "miss" weight a couple times.

  • Making weight takes alot of energy and strength. We know this is never a problem for GSP; just another thing for Thiago to correct and get right before the fight. Did Thiago make any signifigant changes to his training/lifestyle? Not likely.

  • to my knowledge hes only missed once and once he was popped for using diuretics. he doesn't have weight problems because of 1 time, and he couldn't make weight for hughes because he got an ankle injury 2 weeks before the fight (can't run with a bum ankle)

  • how many fights has he missed weight besides the matt hughes?

  • People like you i swear?!? since 8?!? where did you get that magical stat? he started to learn karate at the tender age of 6-7. Olympic wrestling and training with pro boxers since 8?!? wtf I heard that gsp was one of the only 300 spartans that lived. LMAO stop making GSP into a myth

  • You misread. Or miswrote.

GSP has being ma since childhood.

He now trains with world champions in different fighting sports.

  • LMAO no wonder.... your CANADIEN. You're free to nuthug your god GSP

  • No, I'm Canadian. And I like GSP because of work ethic and class and conducts himself like a champ.

Thiago who? A future Vegas doorman.

    Interesting fact:

dleerox24 is the tranny that kissed BJ Penn.

  • interesting fact: superninja13 is the faggot that watches the kiss over and over again.

  • I noticed you slip BJ Penn the tongue. Are you sure you're not French, because the kiss you put on him....

  • thiago alves is a fenomenal stand up fighter,i like him,but if he wants to take gsp he has to train in every aspect of mma

  • Thiago will be beat gsp for sure.... fitch beat a unexperienced thiago. The fight would be much different.

  • if fitch could take him out GSP deff can. no discrediting to thiago..he's a beast

  • You dun see many fighters with that kind of phyique but that's because of genetic shit.Young assasin also looks like he belongs to a hevier division, people gget confused cause this guys are so akward.

  • Melvin G, fought up to 180 I believe, he's him and Thiago are very huge guys, I'd say melvin is about 10-20 pounds lighter in walk around weight prob less.

  • how the hell was jon fitch able to take this guy out!

  • John fitch is far more well rounded. Fitch is also way better conditioned and he has the heart of a lion. Alves has killer offensive striking but fitch has him on pretty much everything else.

  • it was a while ago. put them back in the cage and he would fuck fitch up

  • ya in their fight thiago pretty much had no takedown defense and got taken down and pounded a lot...actually what ended the fight was an upkick in the 2nd round which was crazy... u should watch it cuz thiagos drastically improved since then as in it is really noticable

  • With Koscheck, the fight went 3 rounds but he dominated

  • i think he just works hard hes in his prime and is kicking ass plus shut up the kos fans last night lol

  • Im a fan of Diego "the nightmare" Sanchez but hes no match for Thiago Alves the fight will end in a KO and WONT go to the 3rd round garunteed

  • you know i like diego alot too..but i kinda agree..lets see how much muscle he puts on..i think thiago is on roids...he was so much bigger against hughes as compared with karo!...drug test his ass!!!

  • just asking do u know how Thiago got that ankle injury before his fight with Hughes? That really pissed me off when Hughes was grabbing the ankle tape on Thiago's leg to keep him on the floor
