Well, telaxing seems okay but I don't want to put anymore chemicals in my hair. I discovered that if you use high quality products you can moisturize your hair and make it manageable. But to each their own.
question:I tried to texlax my hair and i left it in for about 7 mins....i was so scared i left it in for t long that i rinsed it out...I like the result...but i want the curls alittle looser...now should i wait untill next time so couple months from now....or can i correct it by doin the same process over again. I did my hair 1 week ago...is it to soon to retry??..any info will help
@Boopsiee Please do not do ur curls over. You may risk the chance of overprocessing ur hair in addition to going straighter than natural. My advice to you would be to just stick to doing ur roots. Sometimes the "runoff" perm which is perm that runs over ur hair as u wash it out, may straighten ur hair slightly anyway. Hold tight lil mama
I'm going to use hawaiian silky mild this friday...well tomorrow lol to relax/texurize my virgin hair i dont want bone straight hair...im sooo scared nervous and excited at the same time. i just want my hair to come out wavy. I'm going to the salon i made an appointment with a stylist already....i dont know how its gonna come out. my hair is healthy n shiny yet fine. i just need a new look tired of rockin lace fronts lol. i chose this relaxer cuz of ur video =)
@MonicaWantsMoore hey girl i made a video with my mild hawaiian silky relaxer results n a 2 month update, my natural hair is fine but it came out good i use aphogee 2 step treatment n alot of natural hair products it helps w/ breakage.
Many household products contain lye, the chemical sodium hydroxide. Lye is a caustic, alkaline chemical, which means it dissolves sticky substances like fat, and has a high degree of reactivity with other materials. Lye, in a flake, granular, or liquid form, is very dangerous and can cause damage to surfaces and people.
Its better for ur hair than no lye because lye is made of sodium hydroxide which DOES NOT coat ur hair folicles like calcium hydroxide. Its less drying and faster acting which means the less time it will need to be spent on ur scalp.
I love it Monica. Not relaxing your hair bone straight is the way to go. 11 weeks without a relaxer is a long time. I haven't straightened my hair in like a year. lol
If you texlaxed your relaxed hair it would only make it straight(er) or it wont really do anything because the hair is already bone straight.
Texlax's do not make already straight hair curl up, what it does is make your Kinky/Curly/"Nappy"/Dedifined more loose. So the more you "texlax," the straighter you go.
You dont have to grow out your relaxed hair in order to start texlaxing. You will just have to deal with having two textures until your bone straight hair grows out.
Lye is so much better for your hair?

what's the difference between texlax and a texturizer?
scampbell04 1 year ago
lye is not good for those with sensitive scalps. It all depends on the person...so you cant really say "dont let anybody tell you different"
