PS2 didn't have net very long? Theres still online games for the PS2 and games are still being made for it that have online support.

This actually looks very generic. I followed this from day one of announcement till the day it got cancelled. I'm really curious, all of that work, what happens to it? Do they just delete files or store it somewhere and for how long? Kinda wish I could give this a try to see what it's like evenn if it isn't finished. Yea if the project is completely canceled they delete everything and the development team is sent to work on other things. However if they put a game on indefinite hold, which is what they do in most cases, they will keep back ups of most of the basic items of the game such as the engine and scripts and such for several years, usually until the game gets permanently canceled. The trailer was made for this game while it was still in creation. As a matter of fact, the game was complete but the online net coding wasn't cleared out since Level 5 never did online games before and Microsoft was pushing them to hurry the game out. Because of this, Level 5 said screw Microsoft and cancelled the game with no intentions of releasing. Level 5 also said they will never work with Microsoft again and thus is why Microsoft went to Square-Enix and got FFXI on their system instead.

I too heard a lot of hype about it, but I just dont see the appeal. It's models are tired, the animation is wonky and incomplete, and it just doesn't pack that much variety.
Maybe when it first came out it was a big deal, but I cant see it aging too well.
I was going to by and xbox just for this, I was going to betray all my belives about xbox and take a risk and buy one just to get in on truefansty live. In the months following, Level-5 President and CEO Akihiro Hino stated in a Japanese interview that the poor relations between his company and Microsoft, partially due to the latter's inexperience in dealing with Japanese developers, was one of the major reasons behind True Fantasy Live Online's cancellation. He also heavily implied that the two companies did not part amicably, and it stands to reason that the two companies most likely will never work together again

In an interview in 2008, the CEO Akihiro Hino stated he still has many ideas for True Fantasy Live Online, and would personally like to work on the game. Whether or not the game does come back into development has yet to be seen.

I too heard a lot of hype about it, but I just dont see the appeal. It's models are tired, the animation is wonky and incomplete, and it just doesn't pack that much variety.
Maybe when it first came out it was a big deal, but I cant see it aging too well.

I was going to by and xbox just for this, I was going to betray all my belives about xbox and take a risk and buy one just to get in on truefansty live. But lvl 5 bailed on it, and in doing so they saved me from a fatal mastake. I'm crossed on how to feel about this (I mean many years ago when I found out.)

im looking for a fun rpg that is live and you can see everyone else in the world play like world of warcraft but it needs to be for x box.. i also enjoy when you have to work hard to be top ranked and to get better gear. exactly like final fantasy so please give me good games like i described and ill check them out thank you.
