  • It's unbelievable how talented she and her sister are...

  • this is the most beautiful and peaceful song I've eve heard in my life!!

  • @ravenhaired20 Happy to hear that! Thanks!

  • god this is beautiful.

  • @MC2Musik :))) Thanks!

  • Hauntingly Beautiful yet peaceful, soul stirring.

Lovely, bless you ANOUSHKA SHANKAR,and thank you.

  • @alcoC415 Thank You tooo:))

  • this sounds like.. i don't know.. mmhh.. a cuddle i guess, an unexpected cuddle, a caress, yes

  • @MaiaGlor Yes, very centle :)

  • Not only is she beautiful, but her music as well. LOVE IT!

  • @peppersax Doubbled up, in other words:)

  • I felt as if I was floating on a cloud in paradise.

  • @mscynergie That's wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you have visited your eternal soul. The good thing is that you can return there when ever you wish.

  • @DechenPalmo You are absolutely right. It is a very relaxing place and I can go there with music or yoga or my breathing technique. Chakras are powerful places inside you, and when you can control it, even a little bit, there are no words to describe it enough to give it justice.

  • this is -elegant and beautifully-easy.This is sweet and yet near-natural.This is Anoushka Shankar

  • @swamiaseem No doubt of that! I wish Anoushka to see all these wonderful comments.

  • .the heaven's sound!!!!!

  • @regX02 ...and you have an angels ears:)

  • its really amazing.......

  • @707wish :)))

  • Music is in her genes... How could it be anything less than brilliant!

  • @prerna22munshi Thats a really modern explanation of music:) An ancient explanation would describe it as a gift from Saraswati.

  • it is really very very goog........

  • @MrKamalshrestha :)) Thanks!

  • It feels like breathing in Heaven rather than under-water. Oh this is beautiful!

  • @TheIdliSambar :)) Maybe it's the same? I remember a line from the 1st Matrix movie when Neo practiced Kung Fu or something similar..His teacher, Morpheus, asked Neo:

"Do you think you are breathing?" This line amused me very much. The brain does not see any difference between virtuality and reality.

  • As my beloved Gurudeva used so say, "So high!"

  • @Vaisnavi58 ...and so close:)

  • Which Raag has been used in this?

  • @udennyn I wonder that too. But it can also be Anoushka's own composition. Maybe you can find out something on her web site?

  • Beautiful composition, I wish I new all the notes of the Indian scale (including the ones in between semitones), I think you could play it on violin possibly. Also wishing the emphasis was more on the sitar than the strings... :P Amazing. - Jesse

  • @TheChimneySwifts Thanks! I hope your wishes will come true. Violin is used in indian music too. They usually hold it upright in their lap. Maybe Youtube has some examples on indian notesystem. You can find many pure classical indian ragas with the same deep and kind feeling.

  • @DechenPalmo Thank you so much for recommending that I listen to Dr L Subramaniam, It was very inspirational to listen to the sounds he can create with a violin! - Jesse

  • @TheChimneySwifts

you may like Dr. L Subramaniam, is one of the legends in Violin and he is from India. A good example of Indian Violin.

  • The first time I heard this, I cried. For all nine minutes.

  • @MylifeisSWELL Thank you for telling me! I´m very happy to hear it touched your heart and soul.

  • @MylifeisSWELL Nine minutes and 40 seconds to be precise .

  • love the graphics too

  • @peaceanthem Thank You! Very Kind of You!

  • sure some new chemical got delivered in my blood during this.. Indian classical rocks!

  • preciosaaa y con mucho sentimientooo!!!

  • @silvermist830 Grazias!!:)

  • Can anyone give me the notes for this raag and track ??? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • cool

  • @YrendenQ :))))))

  • This is what I needed to hear. I am striving to play as such, and hearing something as serene as it is powerful has given me the inspiration to push forward. Thank you so much. As Harshflute has previously said, "I think I'm in love."

  • @sjfan1 I´m very happy to hear you try to play "serene, simple and true" in other words, from your hearth. Or as Shakespeare writes it : "Beauty, truth and rarity, grace in all simplicity."

  • @DechenPalmo :) :) :)

  • indian hoke america me kuch udasi laktha he or kuch sundar bhi laktha he.. is gane ke liye lak lak shukria..

  • @pukarokhan uh??? which language is this?

  • @DechenPalmo Hindi :)

  • @yatiify ..oooh...birdy nam nam:)

  • 4 dislikes? Who can possibly dislike this???

  • @missiLexy Nice of you to wonder!! I can imagine that some people who love classical ragas have some difficulties with these modern back ground sounds, not with Anoushka's playing. I think its composed for a film.

  • This song gave me goosebumps all over :)

  • @missiLexy :)))

  • this is so divine. I feel inspired and inside I am calm and peaceful. Thank you for creating such beautiful sounds.

  • @39namaste Thank you. I´m happy to see that my intention to share peaceful and loving

music has succeeded. It makes me very happy!

  • so soothing as if each note caresses your soul and makes you feel at peace...safe....namaste~~

  • @818BORBOLETA , Yes, exactly what i felt and still feel when i let my self rest

in this tenderness. Happy New Year!

  • @DechenPalmo Happy New Year! and cheers for a better year to come!

  • ITS PERFECT , THE SOUNDS LEAVEING ME FEELING FREE AND LOVE . I CANT WAIT TO HEAR IT AGIN N WISH IT WERE LONGER EACH TIME I HEAR IT. THIS CHICK IS AWSUM IN MY BOOK AN IM NOBODY IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWWAHRE YET '' SHE MOVE'S ME TILL IN FLOATING ON A CLOUD.TURN IT UP 4 ALL 2 HEAR THE JOY*****

  • @SLOTCARZBYMATTHEW Hello and thanks for letting me know! By the way, Charlie Parker, yes, the jazz legend, plays a very nice piece "Out of nowhere". If you have not heard it, give it a try. Happy new year out here, in nowhere!

  • think i fell in love..!

  • @Harshflute ..what a lovely reflexion! Thanks. Happy New Year!

  • Wow, you can almost feel the music. Very nice. ^_~

  • @ReikiRedux ...almost? ...just relax and you will get it all:))

    Happy new year!

  • So beautiful yet painfully moving!! Superb!

  • @gonnabaroberts Hi there.) Thanks and Happy Christmas!

  • I wish I could own one of these exquisite musical instruments, but at US$1000(+), it won't be soon. On the other hand I could own one for decades, and never play as well as Anoushka or her talented father.

    Namaste!

  • @viningdan69 If you have any good Indian friend, ask him ..he will send you by parcel and it should not cost you more than 350-400$..Any if anybody has good knowledge about instruments, he can arrange you more cheaper, and if you order it(ask maker to manufacture it according to your specifications) it can be as less expensive as 100-150$..

  • @viningdan69 Hi there, i think its a mistake to compare one self to masters! If you play with your from your hearth and with passion it will not matter how long it takes for you to become a master. But if you are up to a contest with masters from the beginning..you will loose all your joy. Is your choice.

  • in the heaven wit tis music....

  • @sindoora89 Nice to hear:) Happy Christmas!

  • amazing!

  • из России Вам поклон за прекрасную музыку

  • @ijrjkflrf1 Спасибо вам большое! Светлого Рождества и счастливого Нового Года!

  • wish i could play that ausm

  • In paradisum.¡Que belleza!

  • thank you SO much for looping :D but then i replayed it 3 more times

  • @dhruvdnar I´m happy to know you like it:)

  • Then An Angel sends this your way; this is magnificent. Nothing like the pure sound of music speaking to a starving soul. Namate' Dear Friend for sharing this Gem. :-) She plays so masterfully and she is so beautiful. Yes I can breathe under water. WOW-ING to my soul.

  • @nancyl2 Thank you for telling me:) That's what real music is about! If music is the food of Love - eat as much you like:)

  • @DechenPalmo :-) Love to You Dear Friend. Had to re-play this Gem. Namaste' THANKS for the kind words.

  • meu Deus

  • @Arymarques1 ..grazias!

  • Simply wonderful <3

  • @rossella1805

    Thanks:)))

  • @rossella1805 Thank you!!

  • exquisite..

  • Sublime.

  • @meatrevolver Thanks!!:)

  • love the tune great stuff

  • @jtnisbet Thanks!! Nice to hear you enjoy it!

  • Great!!!

  • @Nelibertha Thanks :)

  • very beutifull

  • @dimetrisnicolaides : Thanks:)

  • Anoushka didn't have to earn her right to be one of the best sitar players in the world, ever, but she did. Now, women can study and perform their art and not sacrifice them to their husbands and children, as her mom, Sukanya Shankar did.

  • @Maatdrummer1 That's right - but its not our fault times and cultures were less generous. Let us instead be grateful of the fact that life is getting better and better for women - it is still far from good - very few, like Anoushka, have got the opportunity to be what they are and nothing less.

  • Gyönyörű nő,gyönyörű zene.....

  • @zsolesznagy vagy talán inkább egy szép lélek?

  • Absolutely beautiful in every way imaginable...from the softest ripple of a creek...to the roughest crashing of the waves...thank you dear Anoushka...for your gift has taken me to the very roots of nature :)))

  • @jd420999 Thank You! I hope Anoushka reads this!

  • ok muy hermoza

  • @SANDRO77PERU ... grazias. > hermoza???

  • @druniverse

I'm sorry but she can do as she pleases!

    No offense friend.

  • a beautiful song executed to perfection...melts the day away

  • its very bad.. this girl has no right to dress like this playing this classical instrument, thts unacceptable..really. the Indians?? are themselves damaging the legcy n only making money out of it.. this is shameful.. music apart

  • @druniverse sir with all due respect, please do not judge someone with there clothing and if you think just by wearing a saree will prosper the legacy of India all I can say is that your kind of people are destroying the great legacy of India.

and one more thing do not bound talent in terms of physical boundaries ..

    and yes offense my friend

  • Thanks:) yes, they seem to develope a more mature kind of music. Mature doesn't always mean dull and boring. India has av very strange tradition of women singers who sound like little girls and its of course an improvement to let women sound as they do, not as a cartoon.

  • living away from home, india, for a while...they express so much of what i feel...sad and beautiful at the same time. karsh and anoushka are real masters of a new kind of american indian music.. amazing

  • Thanks! Yes, i fell in love with India through their music - I prefer music before "reality". Easiest way to travel round India is through their music:)

  • Awesome i wanna go to India! That is beautiful !

  • :))) Thanks!

  • Very, very, very, longingly sensual. Melt me away! Many, many thank you's!! May all sentient beings be happy..........

  • this is absoulutly amazing ...thumbs high up ... much love ann

  • ..you did this very nice..I'm melting away...I love her music and sitar...

  • @Moonriverlady1 Thank you! It's a very nice experience to share this little tune of love, played with love.

  • Mighty. This creates lovely ripples ....

  • @1HarryH Nice to hear:)

  • This is one of the very most precious beautiful music I have heard in a very long time. I listen to it all the time. Thank you so much!!

  • @unloved5600 :))) Thank you!

  • :)) Thanks!

  • @dechenpalmo!

How very true my friend ! :) I just watched the sunrise to this piece and it was magnifecent!! I even cryed while listeneng to Ana,so beautyfull !!

  • Rarely do I EVER come across a song that's so beautyfull yet painfully moving! It allready he's special meaning to me!!

  • @gonnabaroberts Yes, those moments when we are deeply moved by the Beauty, truth and rarity are very rare. I suppose we all are looking for those moments when we are fully alive and feeling.

  • This really touches the heart. The feeling this type of music generates is indescribable...I am really speechless.

  • Tha was heart achingly beautyfull !! My emotions were just bombarded,,jerked out of me!!

  • @gonnabaroberts Nice to hear! I hope you enjoyed to feel all that:))

  • sunidhi chauhans voice in the back, and anoushka sharmas music is the best :)

and to think sunidhi is the same person who sang that annoying song "sheila ki jawani" she should stick to collaborating with real musicians, making real music

  • @prasad604 I´m not that familiar with modern Indian music. But i have heard Rahman, ( the film music composer, and did like it.

  • @DechenPalmo well, ar rahman is a lot more well respected for his music than majority of modern indian music

  • This actually brings tears to my eyes.

I'm only 15 years old but I appreciate the rarity of bliss in music. I feel so at peace when I listen to this, and I cant help but smile inwardly.

    It's just so pure.

Sitar is such a wonderful instrument, I started playing it at the age of 10 thanks to the inspiration of this wonderful woman and her father :)

I'm forever grateful, much love :)

  • @CuriouslyVintage I´m happy to hear you are playing sitar! And i´m happy to know you can feel and love this "little" melody from Anoushkas soul...from soul to soul:) Good Luck with your playing!

  • @DechenPalmo Thank you so much :)

    from soul to soul :)

Being born and brought up in England, Sitar was an oppurtunity for me to connect with my cultural roots.

:D eventhough I've had to stop recently due to studies etc.

I love musicians like Anoushka. All her songs are very soul quenching.

  • @CuriouslyVintage Thanks:) I hope you will at least play now and then, the pure sound from an instrument is very healing. Happy to hear you wanted to reconnect to your roots. I wish i had Indian roots:))

  • hm ,these slides ... they pissing me of...somehow...

  • @makistza Its difficult to like everything:)

  • @makistza Do you mean the bends??

  • indian classical music is Great)). "SAAZ MUSICALS" (indian professional musical instruments shop)

  • I´m very happy to see Anoushka has many good listeners out there!

  • @DechenPalmo Poor Kalidasan . He does not require background music. Understand the background of music

  • If Kalidasa could have choosen background music to any of his poetry, this should have been his choice. Thank You so much!

  • @1234indaba Wow, what a great comment! And you're so right.

  • @1234indaba Why kalidasa reqire background music . The poetry does not belong to backgrounds

  • Thanks:)

  • Breathtaking.

  • And yet I put this on loop!

    Thanks for the upload!

  • @jeyarulz Thanks:)))) Happy Breathing:)) Or swimming..Or both..

  • Having listened to Anoushka for the last week or so, the word Maestro has now come to mind. But that is so male, and so Western.

Maestrushka it must be then. :)

  • @NovaScotiaChick Happy to notice Anoushka has goood listeners. I have more of her music but no time to work with videos right now. Sooner or later...
