@mscynergie That's wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you have visited your eternal soul. The good thing is that you can return there when ever you wish.
@DechenPalmo You are absolutely right. It is a very relaxing place and I can go there with music or yoga or my breathing technique. Chakras are powerful places inside you, and when you can control it, even a little bit, there are no words to describe it enough to give it justice.
@TheIdliSambar :)) Maybe it's the same? I remember a line from the 1st Matrix movie when Neo practiced Kung Fu or something similar..His teacher, Morpheus, asked Neo:
"Do you think you are breathing?" This line amused me very much. The brain does not see any difference between virtuality and reality.
Beautiful composition, I wish I new all the notes of the Indian scale (including the ones in between semitones), I think you could play it on violin possibly. Also wishing the emphasis was more on the sitar than the strings... :P Amazing. - Jesse
@TheChimneySwifts Thanks! I hope your wishes will come true. Violin is used in indian music too. They usually hold it upright in their lap. Maybe Youtube has some examples on indian notesystem. You can find many pure classical indian ragas with the same deep and kind feeling.
@DechenPalmo Thank you so much for recommending that I listen to Dr L Subramaniam, It was very inspirational to listen to the sounds he can create with a violin! - Jesse
This is what I needed to hear. I am striving to play as such, and hearing something as serene as it is powerful has given me the inspiration to push forward. Thank you so much. As Harshflute has previously said, "I think I'm in love."
@sjfan1 I´m very happy to hear you try to play "serene, simple and true" in other words, from your hearth. Or as Shakespeare writes it : "Beauty, truth and rarity, grace in all simplicity."
@missiLexy Nice of you to wonder!! I can imagine that some people who love classical ragas have some difficulties with these modern back ground sounds, not with Anoushka's playing. I think its composed for a film.

@SLOTCARZBYMATTHEW Hello and thanks for letting me know! By the way, Charlie Parker, yes, the jazz legend, plays a very nice piece "Out of nowhere". If you have not heard it, give it a try. Happy new year out here, in nowhere!
I wish I could own one of these exquisite musical instruments, but at US$1000(+), it won't be soon. On the other hand I could own one for decades, and never play as well as Anoushka or her talented father.
@viningdan69 If you have any good Indian friend, ask him ..he will send you by parcel and it should not cost you more than 350-400$..Any if anybody has good knowledge about instruments, he can arrange you more cheaper, and if you order it(ask maker to manufacture it according to your specifications) it can be as less expensive as 100-150$..
@viningdan69 Hi there, i think its a mistake to compare one self to masters! If you play with your from your hearth and with passion it will not matter how long it takes for you to become a master. But if you are up to a contest with masters from the beginning..you will loose all your joy. Is your choice.
Then An Angel sends this your way; this is magnificent. Nothing like the pure sound of music speaking to a starving soul. Namate' Dear Friend for sharing this Gem. :-) She plays so masterfully and she is so beautiful. Yes I can breathe under water. WOW-ING to my soul.
Anoushka didn't have to earn her right to be one of the best sitar players in the world, ever, but she did. Now, women can study and perform their art and not sacrifice them to their husbands and children, as her mom, Sukanya Shankar did.
@Maatdrummer1 That's right - but its not our fault times and cultures were less generous. Let us instead be grateful of the fact that life is getting better and better for women - it is still far from good - very few, like Anoushka, have got the opportunity to be what they are and nothing less.
Absolutely beautiful in every way imaginable...from the softest ripple of a creek...to the roughest crashing of the waves...thank you dear Anoushka...for your gift has taken me to the very roots of nature :)))
