This may sound ignorant however does Yellowknife have many competing surrounding cities? What do the people of Yellowknife do for income? I will have to visit wikipedia for answers. Congrats to voters! Seems they should have welcomed anyone pre registered or not.

There are no surrounding cities. Yellowknife has the second highest per capita income of any other city in Canada

@brendanlush the jets need to be replaced regardless, unless you would rather have American jets patrolling our airspace, in 20 years the f-18s will be obsolete spare parts will become scarce the euro fighter costs about 100 million not much different then the f-35, you could argue the Rafale is a better buy. as for the price of the f-35 the jet price is not set yet, it wont be until we find out how much and how is buying it. the more that buy the cheaper it would be.
