what a non-sense phone..it has no flash video, no custom ringtones, no sync with outlook, can't save a pdf and email it. Can't create folders to put your files in. Awful sound quality, awful video and camera. Short battery life. Never gonna but a windows phone 7 again!!

This is well integrated with all other Microsoft products, making it very appealing to certain consumers. It's also very unique, unlike the iPod which has had few changes in the past five years, and which everybody seems to own. Their ideas are quite original. Look at the Zune, Xbox, Kinect, Windows 7.. the list goes on.

@shishaweed U haven't seen nothing yet. Lots of the games are going to use the accelerometer like the iPhone. The built in compass can be used also. The GPS can also be used in games. The game u see in this demonstration is just showing what the phone can at least do. It's capable of the highest resolution 3D games and stuff. If you are going to play the Sims and have NFS games and 300 other XBOX games at launch then your gonna need 3D. The games will be much similar to and better than iPhone.

Also, WP7S, being developed off of highly praised Zune HD UI, has a huge potential. The demo Microsoft is showing lately seems to point towards the best gaming handheld device we've ever seen.

The first is hardware, every windows phone 7 will be more powerful than the iphone 4, secondly no matter how many games there are on the iphone library, they will never match the quality, graphics or the networking possibilities provided by xbox live. It´s true that the giroscope is an advantage the iphone has, but it won´t take long at all for other manufacturers to use it as well on windows phone 7 phones

How so? The iphone 4 has a 1ghz , which is also the wps7 minimum requirment,also note that the cpu won't help in gaming , the gpu renders everything + the game logic. XBOX live is a service , it doesn't give games quality or graphics , devs just connect to it for social game networking apis , there already is openFeint for android and ios , also ios will be getting game center. the gyro is not a requirment therefore it will probably take looong before it's implemented and adopted.

@xleo21 The iPhone 4 will be as powerful as the weakest WP7, there will be phones in early 2011 that will make the iphone look like an antique with their 1.5Ghz dual core snapdragons. WP7 uses DX9 rather than open GL ES 2, DX9 is a much more advanced API so better/more efficient graphic renders are possible if the devs implement them. WP7 also supports 1280x720 as a screen resolution, iOS does not. WP7 is designed to be a killer gaming OS, so-far it is shaping up to be the best.

1.2 ghz snapdragon maybe , no way it's gonna be a dual core 1.5ghz in a smartphone so fast. DirectX vs OpenGL is a debate that I gave up on commenting years ago but you might want to know opengl for the iphone is actually a very optimized version for mobile envoirments , dx9 is not , yet , and no it's not more advanced.

WP7 doesnt NOT have 1280x720 , only WVGA(800x400) and HVGA 320 × 480 , both which are lower than the iphone 4 one , not to mention pixel density.

@xleo21 Hmm last I checked it was an officially supported resolution at launch. For the sake of application fragmentation it makes sense that it maxes out at 800x480, but 1280x720 max for futureproofing and flexibility for OEMs would be nice. We'll see.

In october/november there will be a couple 1.3 Ghz 45nm snapdragons, one was unveiled today infact. Dual core @ 1.5 has been leaked to be out in Q1 2011 in large phones, like the EVO and Dell Streak.

DX9 is very well optimized for the PC and even better optimized for the XBOX360, and since WP7 is very stringent in regards to low level hardware requirements, the DX9.0c used will be optimized just as well as the XBOX360.

The iPhone doesn't have much for real time pixel shading support, so shadows and lighting for example don't look as nice. In contrast, WP7 supports desktop pixel shader 3 to allow for plenty of realtime lighting, shadows, etc.

@xleo21 It´s true that the minimum requirements for wp7 minimum requirements, but a couple of manufacturers have already announced faster cpus for the wp7 phones and they will only get faster early next year. With regards to graphics if the demo of the game "harvest" is a sign for things to come it´s already better graphically then any iphone game, and they aren´t even trying yet.

@xleo21 True Xbox live is just a service, but it´s a time proven service that has already proven itself for the xbox 360 and just the fact that xna games will be made for it and that you will be able to play and connect with xbox 360s gives it a huge advantage over openFeint and game center. I doubt it will take long for the gyro to be implemented, but even if it does, no one will care because the games will look so much better, run faster and have better social connectivity.
