If you got a decent computer and Kaspersky doesn't slow your comp till it hurts then i can honestly say that this is the best AV you get for your money.. I just got Kaspersky. I have bought the game Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and before installing it, I scanned the disc with Kaspersky. It said no threats found. I installed the game, and Kaspersky said do you trust this.... blah blah blah. I allowed the installer process to install the game. Then, when I ran the game... Kaspersky said PANDORA.EXE is behaving like PDM.Keylogger or something similar. Do you want to allow? It was really strange. Is this a false positive? PLEASE HELP!!

Just some vulnerabilities that weren't important or from any games. What's going on? What do I do to make the game be able to run without dozens of warnings, or is there really a keylogger? I bought it in India, from a redistributing company called e-play. I need help. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is working fine!? Is it just because it is old?

Because there is one file they have said will show up as a keylogger on Kaspersky, and it is safe, so you should just set that as an exception. I did it for that file... but Splinter Cell keeps showing up as a virus... where did you get your game?

the top 3 anti virus software is bitdefender at nr:1 / Kaspersky at nr:2 and webroots anti spyware and virus scanner at nr:3. Kaspersky is a very good application to scan for viruses and all other dangerous malware. Kaspersky has a lot of options to tweak it at your own preferences. It is simple if you leave it at default / recommended settings.

If someone wants to buy a security product they should buy ESET Smart Security. It's way better than Kaspersky.

First I tested ESET Smart Security against probably about 100 malicious links. All of them were 48 hours old at maximum. It blocked everything except 2 Rogue Antiviruses.

Then I tested Kaspersky PURE and things got trough. I got rootkit and few hijacks.

As I understand it, internet doesn't go much slower, it just doesn't show anything until it's fully or partly loaded. It seems as if Kaspersky funnels browser traffic through its own processes and scans it, as observable using the windows resource monitor and the connections established by Kaspersky that correspond to browser utilization.

If you go to Matousec com , you will see the test results for KIS 2010. KIS got a score of 86% in 148 tests. Am I unreasonable for thinking it should have gotten a better score ?

Being on Matousec, you realize they were only testing the Firewall. Still, I was just on Avast forums and somebody gave a link to virustotal that showed a really easy to detect piece of Malware was missed by Avast 5.0 AND Kaspersky!! Almost evry other AV engine caught it.

The best ist to get an external hard dive and load important data onto the external hard drice then you just install windows (or your operating system) freshly.

That's a 100% sure way of getting all of em. If you dont want to go to all that trouble (takes like 3h ) then you can try delete files that you think might be infected!

KIS is a good program, but VERY heavy on resources. Updates also take an age (and I'm on a 50Mb connection). I recomment Norton Internet Security 2010 over this, as it's much MUCH lighter than it used to be, and has exceptional protection. I didn't like how Kaspersky used to allow things as safe through it's firewall if it didn't know what it was! That was the same in last years version too..

I agree with U totally that there isn't any such thing as a "Best AV". I've written that several times under other Mrizos vids. Everyone should have an AV + a Real-Time Antimalware running alongside it as a backup. Also, an On-Demand AM for a third opinion such as SAS, MBAM, or Dr. Web. I would never say that any 1 AV is the be all and end all. Layered security is the way to go.
