This gotta be the game Ive played the most. Remembering how I held Arnhem Bridge on veteran difficulty and damn how I fought. I put my soul in every battle. Fighting hard to not lose any of my few precious men.

Checking the ammo before every battle placing the men with the most ammo at critical spots, hiding my men in gardens as german Panzer passed by..and damn how I loved it :D

@giancarlog89 i know what you say... the first time i played this game i got my ass handed to me U_U... its important that you read EVERYTHING on the boot camp... thats the only way you can undersand it well... this game... one of my favorites indeed :)

Perhaps you didn't load it right. I have Vista and have no problem playing it. Put the disk in then go to windows explorer, select the windows folder (on the disk) and right click on setup.exe, select properties, then select the compatibility tab and set it for Windows 98/ ME and it should install fine.

This is easily the best WW2 rts series ever made. It still blows away any of the newer games even today. I think they should stick with this 2d format. Close combat 5 still looks great and imo looks and plays a hell of a lot better than the 3d versions of rts games.

CC III the Russian front is the best of the bunch by far, you can mod it from WW I through to the Yom kippor war. and I had some thig like 7 gigs of maps for therussian front

Loved this game. Used to play with my brother-in-law (special forces major at the time) a lot - having served myself, it was great to do play it like the real thing.. from terrain evaluation to unit tactics.. we kicked each other asses many a weekend.. :-)

Its sad, but in my opinion, there will never be another WWII game like this. In fact, I don`t think we`ll ever see another RTS game like this. Today`s gamer doesn`t really undestand true LINE OF SIGHT, REALISTIC TERRAIN EFFECT, and REALISTIC DAMAGE for units. It would be very confusing for today`s gamer to learn this when all they want is pretty graphics and nothing else.

I agree completely. I have Company of Heroes, but I much prefer my CC 3 and 5 games. The CC series are my favorite games, I have yet to play a game that matches its brilliance, and I've only been playing the series for 2 months. You should be glad to know that CC6 is to be developed for next year.
