  • Cool car & nice burner.......please edit out the "whoa, nelly" part.

That jeopardizes the videos coolness! lol

  • what was with the rear suspension?? looked like it had leaf springs! chevelle's are coil suspension. nice car tho!

  • Sweet SS. I have a 69 SS 396 Too with a 454 450hp engine with a 4 speed and its a blast. Check out my vids.

  • OPGI in Seal Beach, Ca. Look in the internet.

  • Ok nice car to start off. Also I recently bought a 69 chevelle ss black on black that I am going to restore it has the #'s matching 396 350 horse 4speed munice trans. It needs a drivers side floor pan does anybody have suggestions for where I should buy a decent one? And also what was the difference between the 375 horse and the 350? I know the cam and heads but was there anything else?

  • AMERICAN MUSCLE! xD

  • beautiful car cant wait to get mine dis summer

  • Hahaha! Loved how you waited for the Mustang to pass....GENIUS!

  • I love how it vanished behind a cloud of smoke. it was there ripping it up...a cloud of smoke... smoke clears.... car is 1/4 mile away in seconds ... good shit ...

  • that was weak!!!!

  • Nice car

    Whoooo NELLY!

  • 68-72 Chevelle platform was my favorite. I own a 70, but love the 68 & 69 also. My nephew has a 68 and my brother used to own a 69.

  • Lower that thing.....it sits like a 4X4!!!!

  • MAN THAT IS NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dream car is a 69 chevelle ss 396 supercharged with slicks(because i want to take it to pass time or pinks all out) i want a big power house on it, i want nice cylinder heads, i want dual exaust, i want a huge duster on it too, the paint job i want to be red base coat and black racing stripes... man that would be awsome to have:)

  • scared the shit out of that mustang!

  • Damn I miss my Chevelle so much built myself had 510 Hp Ran 9 flat in the 1/4 mile

  • haha gotta wait for the mustang to pass, dont want to scare it haha

  • Beautiful.

  • My 1967 pellican with a medium block also does a fond burnout.I do say chap you have a splendid vehicle with a most powerful motor. Here in the UK it's mostly boring type vehicles.Well pip pip and do take care of your splendid vehicle

  • @ugslamma Yea but you guys have cosworths over there which are nearly none existent in the states.

  • That Chevelle looks a lot smaller than what I remember...you're sure it's a Chevelle right?

  • I need to stop drinking

  • Hi is the Chevelle 4 sale?

  • @coolalmondjoy no sir

  • @chevelle300fan You better not b/c my father did when I was little and it was a fatal mistake. i would've loved to drive that car when I had my license, but some practice first, because it was manual, but nevertheless, I would always pick a '69 chevelle over some really flashy lamborghini

  • @coolalmondjoy i would kill for a car like this!!!! ommfg im trying to restore one with someone but fixing the motor is so dam expensive and frustrateing

  • nice&sounds good

  • its an auto, otherwise it would of jumped for a second then started burning out...u can see he brake stand

  • @ITRIEDEL no its definately a 4 speed m21 buddy we have line lock thats why it didnt jump

  • @chevelle300fan M21? How is that supporting that 454/450hp engine? M22 Rockcrusher did but M21 was more built for small blocks and less extreme horsepower and torque.

  • @chevelle300fan ahhh man you put a M21 in it?? man hows it like? i have a 69 ss that has a 502 in it and right now the th400 is getting a little bit boring and i have a m21 in storage and am just waiting for the right excuse to put the muncie in it

  • @ITRIEDEL it is definatly not an auto how bout you actualy know about cars before you run your mouth

  • small

  • ---is this a big block guys or a small block??

  • @dalestaner11 A 454 cu in. Chevrolet engine is a big block. The 454 was not offered in 1969 so that means the engine in this particular Chevelle was from a 1970 or newer vehicle.

  • small block

  • @punnkypo big block

  • and besides that it was an automatic in talledega nights

  • just because its an SS doesnt mean it has a 4 speed dumbass many were automatics

  • lol, who said it was a stock tranny? for all we know it could have a 6 speed in that thing!

  • i am talkin from the factory some dumbass said they only came with 4 speeds

  • i <3 this car.. my dream car! exact on everything!!

  • damn i want one. now way i could afford one though. or the gas for one for that matter.

  • Nice !

  • is this an automatic or stick...

  • If its SS, what do you think? It is obviously 4-in-the-floor

  • I own the same car smart ass and its an automatic....

  • Ok, well if you think about it, how often would an SS be auto? Like 1-15? maybe less.

  • I agree there were not many automatics made but how was i supposed to know???

  • Except if it's a 1967 GT500KR

  • ..ohhh yeah ...could be close!!!

  • 'stangs will ALWAYS be under a Chevelle!!!!

  • hahaha wait till the mustang goes by so you wont embarass him

  • power brakin it for sure

  • looks damn good. giving a chevelle hell gota love it.

  • i just wasted 50 second of my life i will never get it back thank u very much

  • Yeah, you're cool lol.

  • well fuck they didnt do nothing for 50 seconds like why the hell wouldnt u start the video when hes about to start

  • Nice Chevelle, regards to the other post, very respectfull, butt.Your '06' Stang will not beat even a stock 396, let alone an L78 396, your refering to stats that ran skinny bias ply tires. I own a Muscle car business in Modesto, Cal.You own a decent running Stang I'll give you that with 281 cubic inches....Wake up or come by my shop.We happen to have one here. You now Modesto, George Lucas American Grafitti we are into street muscle cars here.

    Joel DeGraef

  • This may be comparing apples to oranges, but Car Craft did a test on 1970 Chevelle with a small block 355, yes 355 with 3.73 gears. With stock tires the car did 13.933 1/4 mile, BFG Radial T/A it did 13.6 with BFG drag radials it did 13.00. The car ran .3 faster with radials than the stock tires. Now assuming that the 396 L78 did 14.5 with bias ply would it be safe to estimate that it would a high 13 with radials or high 12s with drag radials?

  • this car is a awsome.

  • Those who say this muscle car suck or that muscle car is a piece of shit are just as bad as the important ricers. I have an 06 Mustang, but I love other muscle cars. Just go to a car show or track and you wont see a chevelle owner telling a roadrunner owner that his car is piece of shit. Could my 06 Mustang beat a 396 Chevelle with an L78 engine. Probally as the L78 chevelle in stock form was good for a 14.5 1/4 mile with street tires and about mid 13s with drag radials.

  • i would doubt it!

There's a CONSIDERABLE difference in power.

Assuming you have a GT model, your only putting out 300hp and 320 lb -ft of torque.

The chevelle is putting out 375hp and 415 lb-ft at the same RPM rating.

Weight is pretty much the same.

    in a 1/4 mile....it's got you beat.

  • You might be right. I wonder what chevelle 396/375 Hp would have run with street radials or drag radials?

  • Well absolutely stock, you're looking at low to mid 13's.

    With drag radials.....maybe high 12's.

  • That wouldn't too much faster than a completely stock 05+Mustang. Stock they do high to mid 13s with drag radials high 12s low 13s. With minor bolt ons such as an intake and tune and drag radials it will do mid to high12s.

  • The chevelle is a little faster but not much.

now...if it were a battle of top speed....the mustang would beat everytime!

  • @50chevyguy the guy in this video says he has a 454 engine. Which Delivers 450 Horsepower and 500 lbs of torque. but yea it would undoubtbly beat any mustang.

  • @fahsa1

I know. I read in the despription.

I was just using the original engine as an example.

LOL. The guy thought he could outrun a 454, he couldn't even hold up against a 396.

  • @fahsa1

68 Mustang CJ 428 and 70 429 Boss vs a Chevelle SS 454 with 450 hp would be a drivers race. With equal tires these cars run nearly identical 1/4 and E.T. I would not mind owning any of these cars.

  • probably not a newer cobra though... a highly modified one at that ;)

  • Omg what are you doing. Why are u wreking the tires it took me so long to find original tires. I'm almost done mine still need the backseat bench which I can't find anywhere if anyone knows please message me and I need a new gas tank. And that was the ss right?

  • the day an 07 mustang beats a 69 Chevelle will be a cold day in hell

  • 07 mustang yeah right this car would run circles round it mustangs are for guys and girls who want a toy to mess around with if you want a real machine go with chevy all the way.

  • i agree with theXmaskedXretards all mustangs new or old are glued together junk

  • ya but it u crash that mustang ur dead these chevelles they crash the worst it gets is the paint scratched

  • yea right

  • Sounds like a standard! Very tasteful...nice shifting.

  • Hey dude still love the car!!!!!! my 69 is getting real close to being complete thanks for the info on the AC springs awhile back!!!!! Chevelles forever dude!!!!

  • Drove in one just yesterday 40 years old and rides like a new car even the little things like bumps in the road and everythin else truely a beautiful car. plus i would rather the fishtailing in the 69 rather thante straight shot with a 70 it just looks cooler lol

  • nice chevelle man.

what kinda exhaust you got on this baby? sounds nice n loud.

  • That's a real mans car right there.

  • sweet car! :)

  • those are the wheels i want for my 69, what size are those? I love how you have it set up!

  • haha Rally wheels are the best and just have the old school look of a Chevy Muscle car...the fronts are 15x7 with 225 70 15 tires and the back are Corvette 15x8's with 255 60 15 if i were you get the 275 60 15s i just got these and are BF Goodriches they are on my 1968 Chevelle 300 Deluxe got em today they sit nice ride nice smoke nice and look good

  • 1972 chevelle was my favorite but a fuckin 69 is beautiful. lucky bastard. hey chevy, make a new chevelle!

  • nice. i think the 69 was the best looking cheville body. i just wish it came with me motors from the 70 and 71

  • I find it amusing how that stang drives by, then you light er up, thats effing awesome

  • nice 69 best year for the chevelle imo. Gotta love big blocks I have a 455 in my 442.

  • hah nice dude, i would have been scared that I would have swerved and hit a freaking pole or something tho with something that nice!

  • Helluva burnout. Beautiful car.

  • lol 454 56.

  • niiice dude tht deff american muscel my dad used to have an chevelle SS but he had to sell it now we got a 454 56 chevy 2 door sedan

  • nice i bet she runs like a son of a bitch gotta love the big block 454s ;)

  • yupp she purrs like a kitten lol

  • damn straight ;)

  • fun

  • So Much fuckin Torque

  • my bud used the station wagon springs for the rear-------looks about the same height

    nice car

  • Whoo nelly!

    hahaaaa

  • its a malibu u retard

  • r u talkin to me a its definately an SS u retard suck a dick and get some car knowledge

  • ya you fucking idiot get some old school car smarts before you start making judgements!!!

im onl;y 16 an i know all this shit....

  • lol

  • Dude , I just love the way your car sits!! nice high and level!!! please tell me what you did to get it that way!!! like coil helper's or air shocks?? and are your rally's 15x8 or 14x8?? once again you have a nice 69SS!! that is what I am working on!!! thanks again!!.

  • ok the front end has the heavyiest duty springs you can get they are big block a/c springs you should be able to order through carquest just tell them 1969 Chevelle Big Block A/C springs and those are the ones the back has air shocks and lakewood bolt on ladder bars so ya and yes the back is 15x8 and the front is 15x7 i like skinny in the front im trying to convince my dad into putting 15x4 corvette ralleys on the front but its not working :(

  • puro yonke ese mugrero jajajajaja jala mas le caddy de mi tatarabuelo gay

  • son of bitch

  • :) what mad cause your underestimating your car now against mine??

  • my car is more fast, this is a challenge race

  • right why dont you put your car where your mouth is :)

  • ooh !! niice ! this is the car i luv!! 69 chevelle ss my favorite !! ;D

  • Beautiful car. Personally, I was never a big fan of Cortez Silver. Mine is...with a black vinyl top. I think it'll be blue whenever I get to the body. Also, you said it's 450 hp and 450 HP "racing engine".

  • ...continued... I doubt it's a "racing engine". A stock 1970 LS-6 would be 450 HP, and available from the GM parts counter. Still, it sounds very nice. Looks very sweet. I like the Rally wheels. Are they black rims underneath those rally caps? Looks like it....very cool. The stock Chevelle stripes are perfect. Wouldn't change a thing....except those exhaust tips are way too low and stick out too far. They should be right under the bumper. It's an awesome car.

  • ya it was a 454 with 450 hp the LS6 but now we put the 396 back in it thats a 375h.p L78 but its built up to 500h.p

  • yd u take out the 454??? nooooo, u shoulda souped up the 454 like u did the 396. 500hp is still nice tho.

  • pretty badass car

  • nice video, u got sum fatty skid marks on that road lol. i got a 72 chevelle SS, its only got a 350 tho, im lookin to get a 572 GM crate motor eventually

  • nice

  • psh. Who needs a 572. if you want a quick off the block motor you need the 492 or 396. turbo, blow, and spray it

  • those are nice, but nothing beats being able to say that u have the biggest gm motor ever made. and spray can get expensive and dangerous. id like to put a blower on the 572 tho, for insane power.

  • dude, u got a point there. im an 18 year old. i just love speed. u got a car yourself? i got a 69 chevelle ss 396.

  • nice, haha actually i just turned 18, and yea i got a 72 chevelle SS 350 daily driver

  • I'm 56 and grew up with GM power back when my Dad bought a 1966 pontiac grand prix, black vinyl top, 2 door, and a kick butt V8 350 in her. Now talk about metal to the peddle. I took her downntown more than once and let her go around the loop

  • i have a 1968 Chevelle 300 Deluxe personally its the L79 car (327 325h.p) with a 4 speed and 4.10 gears this is my dads car

  • Nice burnout and car and your right ford sucks mopar and chevy all the way!

  • I'm a Ford guy myself, but also a former SS396 owner. Nice car. Looks and sounds great.

  • thanks

  • car is bad ass, but would be better lowered 2''0

  • i like em sitting high :)

  • Yea me too please dont lower it. I say keep a classic muscle CLASSIC (Stock)

  • i agree, i hate it when people put some shit rims on it or something.

  • Me too but the funny thing about this vid that i just noticed is that a mustang drove by just before he burned out

  • haha me too i never noticed that.

  • i like those 5 spoke american racing rims...they r the only rims that look good on a muscle except for stock ones...

  • $10 worth of gas right there

p.s. very nice i am thinking of buying a 69 chevelle sometime and restoring it to a street leagle drag car

  • Haha i broke my motor mounts racing this mustang yesterday, I still won though. Just ordered a 3" flowmaster exhaust system with Dougs Coated Headers. I'll post a burnout video real soon.

  • k ill watch for it :)

  • Yeah i just created a profile, it's '66ELCO, i'll get some videos up here of it soon.

  • k im 1968Chevelle300Deluxe ;)

  • damn dude, i love it. I've got a '66 El Camino with a 350. I'm lookin to either sell it for a Chevelle SS or build it into a SS clone with a 454. Awesome chevelle though man.

  • thanks man you one Team Chevelle???

  • A Mustang drives by and all hell breaks loose....that's the way it should be. Little red Mustang better jus' keep on drivin, too. He don't wanna come back for a piece of that 'ol Chevy.

  • like a dog looking for the rite place to lie down took a long time to find the perfect place to smoke some tire

  • Oh and the stripe looks good. Mines just solid silver.

  • Nice Ride 69 SS 396 Chevelle!!!!! Looking to buy one

  • Thanks

I hope you find one it will be one more person in the muscle car world ;)

  • see that crapy mustang drive bye haha

  • lol good one man ;)

  • chevelle my fav but mustangs are great cars to

  • fuck all modern day cars these are the real beasts

  • "whooo nelly" indeed.

  • lol

  • Gotta love the holeshots! I don't know what the other guys are talking about, I really like side stripes on '68 and '69s!

  • me too :)

  • hah its alright but that stripe turns me off and ur paints kinda fucky and you need to get those rally rims and pop some centerlines

  • Too much fun!!

  • you betcha

  • what state are you in?

  • pennsylvania

  • nice car !!

  • thanks

  • ive seen chevelles but never one like this it looks weird but it still KICKS ASS!!!!!!!

  • hows it look weird??? thanks

  • I think he's used to the Corvette tail lights.

  • lol

  • chevys are amazing!

  • you bet they are ;)

  • Chevelle's are the best. I got a '71 monte carlo. Check it out

  • i will dude

  • Its funny the way the guy says "Woo Nelly" at 1:04.

  • ya thats me lol every body in my votech class make fun of me for that lol

  • -.- all that waiting for that p.o.s. burnout, sheesh
