It's a good time in your guitar playing when you can play jimmy hendrix.
I know it seems hard at first, but stick to it. You won't regret it, all those hours pay off just to play these 3 minutes of bliss, if there's a thing called a soul, this is food for it.
Brilliant thanks very much lovely to play along with jimi singing too, how on earth do you do that, remove parts and leave the others behind without the master tapes?? :o)
Thank you for all your work, BUT, can you PLEASE remove the vocals as well... I'm trying to figure out why so many lazy guitarists want the vocals IN, why not sing and play them yourselves along with the guitar.. You might improve your skills - maybe get good enough to do your own solo gigs.
this song is just standard tuning, he did many songs in standard like purple haze and fire. but he tended to use Eb more, especially live, which I like too!
what surprises me is that it isn't in Eb! I thought all of Jimi's songs were in Eb! (Better stretch with strings and Jimi found it hard to hit the note E when singing).
Even without guitar - what a great voice and what a brilliant songwriter - one of the best ever - shame on all auto tune mickey mouse pop singers of the present era.
Could you by any chance isolate the acoustic guitar to 'i can't get no satisfaction' by the rolling stones? Thanks man! By the way, How do you do this?

OMG THANK YOU! I was wondering when transcribing this by ear why he uses the C#m (or EMaj) pentatonic scale at that point in the solo. I can hear the chord change but I never figured out the chord being played under it
@psychoactivepaper i am not that good at music theory but the basic chords are c a# and f if you play then in the f a# and c it's like a 1 4 5 blues in f and f major pentatonic it's d minor pentatonic and when jimi it's starting the solo it's using the notes f and g on the e string and c and d on the b string and that's the first box of the d minor pentatonic or the f major i;m not sure it;s like this but when i play the d minor pentatatonic it's sound good
actually this as an original audio track of the mix with jimis guitar faders all the down. you can still hear some bleed through the drum and bass amp mics but its less than 2%

Dude, that's Jimi! (Not the dude who posted this!)
This is the original track that has been processed with phase and/or panning tricks to eliminate the guitar track!
billmeedog 3 years ago 2
You know what that means: ";-)"
So, I already realized it :D
Thanks for the info.
