Hey Diesel... What about 'Miner Swing'? You played 'New-ages' right on, so you would be able to swing that 'Miner key' yeah? And right.. you don't owe nobody any apology. That was swimmin' good.
Hello Joe! Django has been one of my favorite Guitarists since I first was awed by his abilities, and the great songs he performed, way back when I was a teenager and was fortunate enough to become exposed to his music. I appreciate your kind words! Thanks for visiting! 8-)
very enjoyable....must have been great to hear these guys live...players like Joscho Stephan and Bereli Lagrene and Jimmy Rosenberg still carry this style forward...all amazing players. Acoustic guitar is in good hands i believe...keep up the good videos....they can only help spread the gospel...of guitar, Bodinism, or the spaghetti monster?
Hi Boyd! I first learned of Django when I was 14, reading about him in Guitar Player magazine. It would be several years before I actually got to hear his music and buy some of it. I had 6 albums when I was 17 or 18. I love 1930's Hot Jazz and Django was the man! 8-)
Django Reinhardt (with Stephane Grappelli) was one of my dad's favourites. A great rendition of a great tune, Diesel. Thanks for the mention in your list, BTW!
Great stuff DB. I haven't played my guitar in a month... Things are happening here, but I'll look in as often as I can so keep posting my friend. John
Thanks John! I figured you might like this one. You haven't played in a month... wow! You'll get rusty. I know when I was playing Upright Bass for a while, I was hardly playing my Guitar, and I got rusty! John... go to my main Channel page and click on "Add as Friend" so your comments will post immediately. 8-)
Hey Scott this sends giffers up my Spine, great(can't find the right words) what a great Video,I can see that you know your history and "LOVE" these Cats just like me,I hope to meet them in Heaven and Jam the Night away. You're playing a great guitar here man(very melodic) I love you brother for all your positive energy you're putting in your original Video's, thanks for mentioning me in your guitarlist,Greets Victor.
Hello, Victor... last, but definitely not least, the incredible Victor! I didn't want to give an illusion of favoritism, so I did the list alphabetically... without a "Z" name, you wound up last on the list! LOL! I'll have the old Blues tune, "Highway 49," posted tonight sometime. Lots of work to do yet! Talk to ya' later and thanks! 8-)
lol, yeah thats true! o can you believe i was listening to the wireless today and guess what song came on..rose garden..hehe i could'nt help but think of you Diesel! xx
nice video Diesel!! nice and relaxing instrumental music! i would love to learn a string musical instument,i only play the piano{thru my childhood piano lessons} oh and the recorder aswell! i'am also quite good at playing the old 'keyboard keys'..lol xx
Hi Ludo! Django was born in Liberchies, Pont-à-Celles, Belgium... about 50 Km south of Brussels and lived most of his life in France, spending most of his youth in Gypsy encampments near Paris. Thanks for the visit!
He was a real gypsy (Rom)- I just adore his music. Did you see "Sweet and Lowdown" the movie? If you are interested ,DB, in more information about gypsy culture send me a message. One of my relatives wrote a book on the topic. Thanks for the music!
Awesome, Amy! You know Django! I know they don't like the term, "Gypsy," but it's use to describe their style of music to the world. I wish I could play like some of them... even as kids some of them are roaring on their instruments! I haven't seen that movie. I'm in the midst of making another new video right at the moment, but I am quite interested in what you have to say on the topic! We'll get in touch ASAP! I've fallen behind with my emails because of my videomaking addiction. 8-)
Hi Mike! Thanks for commenting and the great email, too. I've been a slacker on writing back... sorry! I'm addicted to doing more, more & more videos. LOL Right now I'm working on an old rockin' "Blues" tune, and have ideas for the next several videos already, with a "special 100th video" planned. Thanks for hiring my "band!" 8-)
Hi Michael. Google "Django Reinhardt" and you'll find all kinds of information on him and "The Quintet of the Hot Club of France," or in French, "Le Quintette Du Hot Club De France!" 8-)
Thanks, Mr. Borg! I've included Django amongst my "favorite" guitarists since I was a teenager. Do you play Django's toons on guitar? We don't have to play like him to enjoy his music. There are lots of incredible "Gypsy-style" guitarists today who carry on the tradition that Django was known for. I can't even pretend to play like them, but that's OK! I just like playing. Thanks for visiting and commenting! 8-)
django was a big influence in the spread of jazz from europe, and in the greater foundations of guitar in jazz. great presentation. the music is great. is this your own composition?
This tune, "Nuages," which means clouds in French, was written by Django, and has been recorded many, many times by other famous people. I actually compiled a CD of "Nuages" versions, by as many people as I could find. On one cool version, the lead instrument is a Bass Saxophone! Awesome! Another version has a lady singing the song real sexy-like in French. 8-)
Without a doubt Scott, this WAS the master blaster! I listened to some of his work when I was a teenager, blew me away as much as hendrix did. Anyone who can play like that with only 2 fingers, shames us all. Excellent vid man!!
Hi Dave. I made this recording about 10 years ago. I thought it would be cool to share it with ya'll by making a tribute video using the music. Django could get his 2 paralyzed fingers to help somewhat with his chord work, but his lead work, man... well, you know the scoop on that!
Splendiferous, not a word I get to use often. It's sort of a "brake glass in the presence of pure genius" word. Well, the glass is broken & the word's been spoken! This was an absolutely delightful video, even if I was not aware of the man in question before it, the music was beautiful!
Thanks, Boots. I was 14 when I first heard "of" Django, reading "Guitar Player" magazines. I was 17 when I first heard his playing. I bought every Django recording that I could find at the time. There's alot of his music I still haven't heard yet to this day!
very very nice !!!

Excellent playin' as usual.
Hope Heidi wasn't disturbed by the bangin' on those big kettle drums! - Unfortunately not familiar with midi, but would like to learn.
Video response uploading as I type.
