Facelikethesun: I have looked into the judeo christian revealing of god along with the other religions and they all appear to be bogus and/or incoherent self-contradicting (eg god of the bible is said to be loving but endorses and commands rape, murder and genocide) myths. I use the bible quote to support my claim that the bible is a nasty book full of historical inaccuracies and discrepancies. When you say "context" you actually mean "lacking the spin you would prefer to put on it".
@Farmsalmon4ever "I use the bible quote to support my claim that the bible is a nasty book full of historical inaccuracies and discrepancies" Actually archeology has never been contradictory to biblical claims. Absence of evidence is not evidence for absence. When I say context, I mean historical/cultural/spiritual context. "you actually mean "lacking the spin you would prefer to put on it"" Are you sure you aren't doing the same thing when you make your claims about the bible?
Great video. It's an awesome representation of what the Church is meant to do here and now. It's not just about eternity, which is very important, but it's also about how we are living Christ-like lives in this life. Jesus went out among the poor, and the broken, and loved them, and healed them, and we are called to do the same.
what crap- totally ignores all the other 1000's of concepts of god in the "whole world" . The concept of god is different wherever you go. They have conflicting claims so they cant all be true, but they can all be wrong.
squeaky clean christans always leave out the fact that Jesus "comes not in peace but carrying a sword" (look it up) and even if you die at 17 w/o accepting Jesus u will be tortured for 17 trillion years. "nice". good thing the "whole story" is bogus.
@Farmsalmon4ever the video isn't addressing your first point, but in essence what you will find is that the Judeo-Christian revealing of God is the most complete and in line with reality. And it's interesting that you use a bible verse in a vacuum in an attempt to prove a point about Jesus, of which you don't seem to have a belief in to begin with.
Great job man, I really like the video. And @chiefmusician this is a video about a called people on mission. I don't think he is trying to negate repentance, you can't put every core belief in a 3 minute video.
This video is creative, but incomplete. If the Ordo Salutis is Election, Predestination,
Regeneration, Faith, Justification, Sanctification, Glorification can you hear which major point is missing? There is not mention of repentance even vaguely that I heard.
Also, unless it is made explicit that we are saved from eternal hell due to the penalty of our sins and that Jesus is the only one through whom that is possible, things such as hope, mercy, forgiveness, and hope could easily be found in other things. Furthermore, it is not God's plan to bring heaven to earth, it is far from that. Revelation 21 clearly states that there will be a new heaven and a new earth made by God, not man. But even beyond heaven, it is Jesus who we ultimately hope.
Gorgeous (visually) representation of the Gospel but this is hardly the "whole" thing as ben3johnston stated. Lots of holes theologically as well. A huge missing portion is sin. Hell is completely glossed over. The video mentions hope, mercy, and forgiveness, but never explains "from what?"
looks really good, i appreciate lots of the theology and the desire for change in this but what about the atonement? Jesus is mentioned and our calling as Christians not to be reduced to gatherings in buildings but who are Jesus' followers? How do they become followers? By what means? What is the whole gospel? It may be spoken of in conjunction with the kingdom of God but what is it?
Awesome video, guys! I have been hoping that someone would use a "video scribing" approach (simple, intriguing, fun) to illustrate the gospel message. Well done.
