I agree that FF4 is better IMO, i like how the characters look, compared to my main in ff6 which was edgar, and the love story in ff4 makes me like it more than 6.

6? Thatd be even nicer! Im not much on gaming as I use to be, but I gotta admit that I smiled knowing that another DS FF was in line. I never finished 3, and I'm at the end, but hell I may just erase and redo so by the time it comes out I can jump aboard and play through 4! (I played FF's 2-> as I grew up, but I never understood the numerologic reasoning, so I think when I get a chance Ill mingle with em =) )

The numbering is a bit different in the beginning due to Japan not releasing a few of the earlier SNES/Famicon games in US (till later).

For reference FFIV(JP)=FF2(US) and FFVI(JP)=FF3(US) :)

Pretty much everything after was released both state side and in japan.

QFT. My favourite Final Fantasy game by far.  Nostalgia is a heavy bias here, as I first played it when I was about 6 years old, (and it was the first FF game I played.) But the story is incredible, the characters are awesome and the issue of redemption that's prevalent throughout the game is also what marks this out as one of the best games in the series, to me. It looks good so far...I hope they did a faithful conversion, anyway :D

Every single hero there was sooo cool and the game itsel...its world lol. Seeing as FF7 and up were made for Sony systems, I bet copyright issues prevent the games to be ported to the DS, no matter how awesome it would be if they did (ff7-9 at least). Though seeing as they remade FF1-2 for the PSP, there may be a chance to see such games in the future (and I bet the DS can handle FF7-9 easily).

True, but VII still is an amazing game. VI is hands down my favorite... but I can understand why people would choose any of them as their favorite(VIII being my second favorite)... it's a matter of opinion and I respect that.

i played my 1st rpg when i was like 5 and it was chrono trigger but if im voting for best rpg graphics and gameplay i would go with legend of dragoons its not well known since it came to the uk late and i imported it for 70dollars from america and i gotta say if u think square enix greatest rpg is ff series or vagrant story or chrono trigger etc.u should play legend of dragoons trust me u will all love it also typed this all on nintendo wii took long to type this comment in xD

I agree 100%. FF 7 was only marked as the "best" because it got hyped and bought people into rpgs. Gamers like me who had the wonders of the Sega and Snes ages know far greater rpgs in story and character design.
