  • @TheGscale you should use weights you can only lift about 3-4 times if your looking for bulk....but if you are looking for a more toned look, a weight you can lift about 10 times is usually the best bet

  • @TheGscale Actually you need to use a weight you can lift 8-10 times for mass and 12-15 or higher for muscle endurance. And before TheMayhem8 argues with me about it, i know what i am talking about because i do p90x and it says so on it a million times.

  • Nice dude! I'm almost on day 30! I am seeing results, not so much in my abs yet but my chest, arms, and especially shoulders. I cant wait to see what I look like on day 60 and 90. I wasn't fat when I first started but I am losing the extra flab I still had on me, keep going dude!

  • Whey Protein and Soy Protein are garbage. Whey has almost no protein in it and soy has estrogen.

    The best type to use is Hemp Protein by far.

    No, it's not pot. It's a sister plant. Almost the same thing without the THC. Basically pure protein. Get some organic stuff so you know there aren't any fucked up hormones and you are golden.

  • @DJK290 You're retarded. Hemp protein has about half the protein per 30g serving than Whey or Casein. I agree that Soy isn't the best but it is as good as Hemp. Hemp is considered a substitute protein for people who are lactose intolerant or have digestive issues. Also, there is no way a plant derived protein formula has complete proteins. What this means is that animal protein, such as whey has a combination of all 20 amino acids. Please learn what you are talking about before saying something.

    1) You can get a doctorate in 12 years running a full time work schedule. Maybe you meant grade school? I'm not sure. Even a borderline illiterate can finish a BS/MS conjunction degree in less than that much time.

    2) I did my undergrad in BME from JHU and am currently a med school student at Vandy, specializing in oncology.

    4) I have yet to meet a "sports physiotherapist" who types like you. Good luck finding patients you moron

  • @DJK290 Oh and I also forgot to add...Soy may have more estrogen than other proteins but the increased amount is trivial. The fact is that any healthy human body has a more than sufficient hormonal regulatory system. The increase in estrogen would be inhibited in a matter of seconds. In addition, if you were nearly as educated as you say you are, you would know that LH (Luteinizing Hormone) proliferates so much estrogen that they would be "off the charts". Go learn basic physiology please.

    workouts -> is it better to do assisted pull-up/chin-ups (with a chair) or not assisted

    I'd been doing assisted the first 3 weeks and could do 6-13 depending on type and round, but I decided to try non-assisted for my first back workout of the 5th week yesterday, and I could only do 3-7 depending on type (only 2 for towels those are really hard). So thoguhts on that?

  • @lindberghflyers314 Most dvd's are about an hour long, some longer, like yoga and plyometrics. If you can find about an hour and a half a day to do the dvd's your golden.

  • If you get a chance to respond- I'd love to know whether or not you followed the Nutrition Guide/Supplements or not. I plan on doing it myself and am wondering how necessary the Nutrition/Supplements are, seeing as they're expensive. If your results are without Nutrition Guide/Supplements, I'd be pretty inclined to ignore that part.

  • @NutritiouslyHigh Your nutrition is the most important part of p90x. Your excercise results will greatly improve if you follow the nutrition guide.

    

  • @TheShaun47 Haha thanks, but since I commented I've completed P90X :D and I followed the nutrition and supplements, though it costed a bit. I highly doubt I would've gotten the results I did without the nutrition... I didn't take before pics though -_- I regret that.

  • nice job bro... yea im at the stage where im ripped but kinda big as well from heavy weight lifting... by doing p90x... just the lifting except for legs becasue i got that covered already... will i be able to add on mass?

    and to add on mass through p90x im guessing you just use heavier weight for all the movements and do liek 5-7 reps?
