Oh come on. You don't need to listen to a word he says. Just look at the guy and tell me which movie is going to be his favorite, The Core or The Fifth Element.
I'd say the 'experiment' is a lie. (Which is a shame, because Richard Wiseman has done some interesting work.)
he is lying in Interview A because his answers all end with a rise in the pitch of his voice, as if he is asking a question. In B he is stating facts, and his voice reflects it.
that is the whole point. in this one ur supposed to listen to what he's saying and not get distracted by the visuals. the other video combines visuals with sound. the experimenters want to see how much the visual element impacts how the listener interprets what that man is saying.
With the truth, you tend to get more details, for one thing. And he was definitely more detailed in B. And, as Puppeteerceuloa mentioned, you pause more when lying (it takes more time to come up with new ideas than just remmebering old ones. Plus, The Core is an absolutely terrible movie, and Fifth Element is pretty good, so that kind of gave it away regardless of the guy's verbal and physical clues.
I thought the blinking in the video would give away the lie, but he blinks a lot even when telling the truth. Lies tend to be creative, so pauses and 'uh' might give the lie away.
I think fith element, cos usually you don't "educate" when you tell the truth.
