i bought a '85 k100RS 2 years ago, i love it! It starts way better than this one. It's not a very fast bike, but it makes a great bike for travelling. The plastic keeps me dry in the rain, and air from the radiator keeps my legs warm ;-) I love its design, it's quite sophisticated for the time yet very simple. Good job bmw!
My previous bike was an old naked gsx1100 tho... and I gotta admit... the k100's advantages are its disadvantages... i miss the wind during the hot summer ;p
Just purchased a 1985 K-100 and I'm really looking forward to the ride. Learning alot about this legend. Bought mine with 22,,000 miles. Will be on the road in a few days, enjoy it, it's beautiful.
Very nice! my dad has a 1985 BMW K100. it hasnt been up for around 16 years, but were settin it back up for him. this is the best bike out there. you just cant top a sound like that! thanx for the post ;)
Nice! I'm on my 4th K bike :D My current is a 1994 K1100RS. I like how your video has the bike coming and going... I love the sound of the K engine. Nothing sounds like it in the world!

I owned the naked version (K100 basic) in red. That was a really useful bike!
I've buyed it in used (58'000km) condition, sold it 5 jears later to 90% of my prize (!) with nearly 200'000km on it's counter!
I had always fun while ridin' it, I did more than 120'000km!
Okay, 98hp (out of 998 ccm) is not much today, but it is enough for nearly all situations.
I hope You'll have always a safe and funny ride with Your "flying brick"!

This is great. I'm in love with the early K's and yours is beautiful. Check you idle speed, it sounds a tad low.

Best K-bikes coming from -83 to -86. With 16 teeth splines and L-Jetronic. Later models with 21 teeth splines, and Motronic,, No Thanks.
