This guy didn't seem to far right. A little misguided but not that bad. I think he learned more about whats going on. I would say he was a moderate republican.
I do understand however, the knock on gov't jobs. The problem is that gov't jobs aren't long term, unlike private sector jobs. For example, a census worker can work only up until the census is finished. And what is there to do after that. There does need to be jobs that involve a constant demand and a trade of goods and services. It needs to be growth created by consumption. If using tax dollars creates jobs, then they growth is limited to what gov't puts in.
Bob Adams didn't even know what the medicare buy in proposal was. He also completely avoided the fact that the "cuts" to medicare are unnecessary government subsides to profitable insurance company's.
I can't believe anyone who calls themselves the chairman of a political action group could be so completely oblivious when it comes to the most debated political issue I've seen in my lifetime.

Bob Adams is a moron.. 1/2 the jobs in the country are government jobs.. from the federal jobs the military industrial complex infra structure etc.. most private sector jobs are low paying service industry jobs..the good manufacturing jobs have been exported to China and 3rd world countries to boost corporate profits and to destroy unions
"It's working well" he said twice. With NO FACTS to back that up. Many Generals and other higher-ups in the Military have said "don't ask don't tell" is a horror for the military, from violent crimes 'in-house' to politics to humanitarianism to troop morale.

@jjallison1 "at what point do you stop denying the obvious and start to connect the dots?"
"The obvious" here being the the fact that US foreign policy since WWII has failed to convince billions of people that a pseudo-democratic plutocracy is the right way to go.
"Connecting the dots" would be the confession that the US have probably been a little too far on the political right recently and are expected to move more towards the center with the Obama administration.
How many people are willing to do the PC or Americorps though? Not everyone qualifies. Not every will qualify for Teach for America, or any urban teaching fellowship for that matter. Dictators always go after the middle class while talking about saving the middle class. Obama, for a year, has talked about saving the middle class and he's got a Middle Class Task Force. Obama even went to have a meeting with the 20 members of the Middle Class Task Force, which he impaneled early last year. He had a teleprompter to speak to 20 people. What's happens? Unemployment skyrockets. Nothing good has happened for the middle class. Obama now says we are going to focus on jobs. LOL!
Hey I appreciate your opinion. You are right obamer is not a dictator yet. He is not listening to the American majority at all. In his State of The Union Speech quoted "I'm not quitting," and what that means is I'm going to keep governing against you, I'm going to force-feed or jam a liberal agenda down your throat, whatever it takes. The American people are in complete repudiation to the obamer socialist agenda. Why did you campaign for him? Why you think he is good for America?
There was nothing new in this speech at all. Every bit of it we've heard before, even the same words. I just sat there shaking my head, finally got up, and I missed the last five minutes, and apparently the last five minutes were delusional. The last five minutes are inexplicable. I don't know what happened in the last five minutes but everybody said, "Whoa, that last five minutes, I have never seen anything like it."
And from what I heard yesterday Obama's message was to go even deeper into debt, buy more cars, buy more houses that you can't afford! How is a tax cut that is going to raise the price of homes a home-buyer tax cut? Its nothing more than inflating the bubble again! Why should govt be backing loans? Should we back rental fees?
Last nights speech should prove to any nay sayers that Obama is continuing Bush's policies! We won't be out of Afghanistan in 2011! The only way out is an immediate withdraw! Government consumes wealth! This notion that Cenk is a capitalist is insane! How can you be a capitalist yet think capital should come from government? The spending freeze won't happen! Even then, we shouldn't cut at home before cutting overseas expenses!
I am for 'dont ask dont tell' for 1 important reason. Yes I am a conservative, yes i have gay friends (just like with my straight friends, do what u want in ur privacy just dont talk about it with me) Sadly, there r still homophobic ppl in this country, mainly men, & being openly gay in the military may cause unneeded abuses towards them when our troops should be worried about serving our country not who loves who, & who is sleeping with who, something like being gay may distract our troops.
Why private sector jobs are better? The business has better incentive to succeed. In the public sector, one excuse for failing is that there is not enough funding. so what is done? More spending.
Our world has benefited more, what came out of it. Example technologies, medicine, transportation(ex;airlines, automobles), technologies(ex:cellphones) It brings out competition(ex:microsoft, Apple, HP) In the public sector
most are monopolies. Education(except for private schools) not everyone could afford or have the freedom to choose their schools. stay tuned of what happens when this high speed railway is built. There will be jobs given to politician's supporters, unions(which means less blacks hired). Over here in Chicago the CTA cannot even be run to a profit. Chicago's is not the only one.
@popcur I think the private sector should do whatever it is capable of, but your examples are poor ones.
Almost all of those technologies, have benefitted from government R&D.
Medicine in particular, has almost entirely come out of government labs. Almost all of the R&D that big Pharma brags about comes directly from advertising (Development, NOT research).
History just doesn't match your arguement. I'm ok with the private sector taking over after the fact, but let's be fair.
Then the gov't (taxpayers) should not fund them. Let angel investors, banks, financial firms fund them. It is such a great idea, then why can't private sector fund them.
For one future example, look at high speed rail. That will flop. will be very costly, after it's built. Taxpayers will have to subsidize them. Over in NYC and Chicago ,the mass transit system cannot be run properly. Less riders, then raise fares. One appoints the top person to run them. The mayors.
@popcur That's a fair point, but you do realize there is a good chunk of tech that wouldn't be in place right now, without that research. Telephone infrastructure happened through the government, because private industry wasn't big enough to do it.
The best example is the one we're using right now. The internet would NOT exist if left to private industry. Do they take advantage of it now, to make money, of course? Do they have the foresight to actually invent something? Historically, no.
@popcur Investors are there to make money, and they have a terrible track record for developing tech. For the most part they tend to be conservative, and looking for the next big marketing thing.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but it would definitely hold us back.
I can't think of a single sizable new tech that private industry has developed.
its funny how when Adams has facts to back up his claims (about the banks etc) that he sounds like a smart guy. But when he talks about medicare and dont ask dont tell he just uses a talking point with no facts backing him up and he sounds like an idiot. When talks like a republican he is an idiot, when he talks like a real person he sounds somewhat smart.
You can't debate a walking talking point... btw, not advantageous for the US military to allow gays in the military?!?!?! We'd had 13,000 more troops if gays were allowed in the military (that's how many gay soldiers have been discharged since Don't Ask Don't Tell was instated).
That Republican is a moron, he can't defend any of the shit he's shoveling.
Is there any insight that this guy had that any of us couldn't have offered? My GOD, the republican party is like a group of high school students who don't do their homework. Boring generalization after boring generalization; it's like how I answered questions in my history class when I didn't study.
More healthy people with money = more money in the system and less sick people but only if the proportion of new people is way over the fraction of new SICK people in the medicare system. I don't why the numbers are never made public. There must have been a study done. I think getting the facts out is the only way to go now.
Apparently you need to be an idiot to support republican ideas. Case in point from the end of the video: Cenk asks him why, if he supports Medicare, would he be opposed to Medicare buy-in for others. He responds that it would dilute the benefits for seniors. But the obvious meaning of "Buy-in" is that it's paid for. The seniors lose nothing! Who are you trying to fool, Bob? Unfortunately it seems that there are plenty of dumbasses out there who believe this kind of nonsense and obfuscation.
Cenk gave the guy way too much credit. You could tell he didnt have a clue and was just repeating talking points without understanding what he was saying. Cenk should have explained things first and then asked for him to respond; like how Cenk explained how the medicare buyin adds money to the medicare buying instead of taking it away; i can almost garuntee it was news to guy.
It's amazing how good Republicans are at talking points! It's as if they all read from the same notes because they all say the same fucking thing! With Democrats you usually have a lot more diversity, which while a good thing, is a major disadvantage; if Democrats were this united on almost every single issue we might've had real health care by now.
Who really cares what sexual orientation a soldier has long as he can squeeze a rifle trigger or hurl a grenade.
Imagine if the other Flight 93 passengers asked Mark Bingham "Are you gay?" and he said "Yes" and they told him "Sit down faggot!"?
That's how ridiculous the anti-gay policy is.
If a patriotic American (and goodness knows homosexuals are a number 1 target of Muslim hate) wants to fight for his country he should be allowed to do so.
1) Did you notice that the guy gave a nonsequitur response to "don't ask, don't tell?" It's going to create a lot of chaos doesn't mean that it's bad. As Cenk stated, the exact same thing could be said for introducing blacks and women.
2) As soon as Cenk points out that Briton and Israel both have open armies, he jumps off point to the president paying off supporters instead of defending the original point.
Our Public Schools are HORRIBLE!!! There are whole chapters that are NOT taught out of, even thought the text books are an incomplete truth to begin with!!! Texas is a big text book producer, imagine, most students in America are learning from books written by TEXANS!!!!
A lot of it comes down to antiintellectualism. They actually use the word Intelligentsia as some kind of insult. And budget cutting, directly elected school boards wanting their kids to get good grades not by having them work harder or not wanting their children seeing anything controversial like stuff about evolution or any kind of economics but supply side, drugs of course, guns and violence of course,
You have no idea what kind of BS is in our Textbooks. "The evil Santa Ana and his Mexican army tried taking over Texas (even though it belonged to them in the first place) but we fought courageously in The alamo (and lost)"
So remember, this dude doesn't want you to be an American openly gay man or woman in the military, but he'll let you stay if you keep your mouth shut..wow.
Nothing worse to a terrorist than being shot at by a gay guy... all im saying
he doesnt understand that buy in means pepole pay for it that dumbfuck needs to siriously learn stuff or stfu ha bisky upload republicans fucking suck
I dont want to sound like a party-pooper, but is Cenk choosing the looneys on purpose to gain an advantage for his side of the debate. Don't get me wrong, objectively he's right on the issues.
The big problem in the US during the last 30 years is that the private sector has been getting rid of jobs, even though profitability has been skyrocketing.
Oh yes, "Obama thinks government is the answer to everything. Everything was government stimulus, government stimulus." Except that the stimulus was 1/3 tax cuts. Oh and don't forget the payroll tax cut.

I don't agree with his decisions, I'm upset I lobbied for him in my community, I think he's a politician, but he's certainly no dictator.
Sitarman345 2 years ago
Sitarman345,
Hey I appreciate your opinion.
SaveRepublic 2 years ago
Sitarman345,
There was nothing new in this speech at all.
SaveRepublic 2 years ago
And from what I heard yesterday Obama's message was to go even deeper into debt, buy more cars, buy more houses that you can't afford! How is a tax cut that is going to raise the price of homes a home-buyer tax cut? Its nothing more than inflating the bubble again! Why should govt be backing loans? Should we back rental fees?
VictoryCough 2 years ago

SyrLw09 2 years ago
The problem I have with Don't Ask is that if for some reason someone finds out that a soldier is gay, he/she will be dismissed just because of that.
milloselmejor 2 years ago
My explanation about could be quite a good reason why that is.

He can do nothing against that fate, and must accept it

ObamasTheBeast 2 years ago
@popcur Why?
johnedwards1968 2 years ago
Why private sector jobs are better? The business has better incentive to succeed. In the public sector, one excuse for failing is that there is not enough funding. so what is done? More spending.
Our world has benefited more, what came out of it. Example technologies, medicine, transportation(ex;airlines, automobles), technologies(ex:cellphones) It brings out competition(ex:microsoft, Apple, HP) In the public sector
popcur 2 years ago
most are monopolies. Education(except for private schools) not everyone could afford or have the freedom to choose their schools. stay tuned of what happens when this high speed railway is built. There will be jobs given to politician's supporters, unions(which means less blacks hired). Over here in Chicago the CTA cannot even be run to a profit. Chicago's is not the only one.
popcur 2 years ago
@popcur I think the private sector should do whatever it is capable of, but your examples are poor ones.
Almost all of those technologies, have benefitted from government R&D.
Medicine in particular, has almost entirely come out of government labs. Almost all of the R&D that big Pharma brags about comes directly from advertising (Development, NOT research).
History just doesn't match your arguement. I'm ok with the private sector taking over after the fact, but let's be fair.
johnedwards1968 2 years ago
Then the gov't (taxpayers) should not fund them. Let angel investors, banks, financial firms fund them. It is such a great idea, then why can't private sector fund them.
For one future example, look at high speed rail. That will flop. will be very costly, after it's built. Taxpayers will have to subsidize them. Over in NYC and Chicago ,the mass transit system cannot be run properly. Less riders, then raise fares. One appoints the top person to run them. The mayors.
popcur 2 years ago
@popcur That's a fair point, but you do realize there is a good chunk of tech that wouldn't be in place right now, without that research. Telephone infrastructure happened through the government, because private industry wasn't big enough to do it.
The best example is the one we're using right now. The internet would NOT exist if left to private industry. Do they take advantage of it now, to make money, of course? Do they have the foresight to actually invent something? Historically, no.
johnedwards1968 2 years ago

That Republican is a moron, he can't defend any of the shit he's shoveling.

Cenk: "Reasonable question, reasonable question, reasonable question"
Adams: "Republican talking point, republican talking point, republican talking point".

He's pathetic.
