I agree...it sound strange here... like clean and distortion at the same time - not AT ALL how it sounds in my setup! Check out my "Little Wing" or "SRV" clip with Steffen Brix Trio......completely different....with single coils!
I'm full of respect for the tremendous efforts of gearmanndude but somehow the pedals often come off sounding harsh fizzy or thin in these demos. I often can't really use them. is it the mic or just an eq preference on his part - or is it in the fingers?
btw fellow tubers please stop saying he sounds like jack black even if he does. I think its been established by now.
Mongo like StinkBug, StinkBug fizzy, Mongo like fizzy, remind Mongo of beer, beer fizzy, beer good, Mongo like beer, StinkBug good, StikBug like beer.
Nice pedal, stinkbug? who thought the danes had such a whacky side to them? I'll tell you, Danish electronics are amongst the best in the world (Dynaudio anyone?) this will be seriously good hardware.
It was not uncommon back in the day when in the studio guitarist would record a track using a dry signal and a wet one then mix the two. Fattens it up quite a bit but does not lose definition, especially on rhythm tracks. Cool pedal. A little too salty for my blood, but cool all the same. The island of misfit pedals is located at my house. GMD, when your done playing with this pedal you can send it there.
It sound more like the overdrive is underneath the amp signal. Kind of like the Pork Loin Soft Clip Injector. I don't like that sound.

I gotta agree with whynottalk.
GMD - Have you ever thought of playing into something sparkly clean, like a vintage twin, clean plexi, or a JC120?
That said - I love your reviews. Thanks man!

Sounds like the gain is just sitting on top of your signal. Unnatural and weird to my ears =x

@Tsmith183 100% agree. That is so strange!

I agree.. I hear clean AND distortion, even when cranked up high. and for me that defeats the point of an overdrive pedal.

Wow, clean signal and distorted. Cool. Seems like something that would sound better with a full band compared to just playing in your house.

seems like it would work well with a bass signal

Not worth $250 but sounds really good!

the fact that you can hear the clean signal makes it REAL weird. I got used to it though.
