Marine corp higher ups can't afford to have people under them think critically and logically for if you do they will be threaten and forced to make your life hell to shut you up. Ive notice when i was in all the great Marines got out while the losers of the civilian world are forced to reenlist. So you have lower 10% in charge and people wonder why there is so much stupidity that goes on.
I was Enlisted and worked my way to CPL in 3 Years. It is a right of passage to do the grunt work and any type of work should have some pride in it. Trust me you could be in a worse position than just doing the medial tasks that you have to do. I am greatly aware that E-1 through E-5 actually are the head of the spear. But when I was in someone who just bitched about everything was considered a bitch and was usually taken behind the shop and had their attitude adjusted.

Oh Man!!! I hated that fucking shit smell!!! I was at Lejeune from 97-2001 and I hated coming out of shitty ass HP 509 and smelling that godawful sulphur that seeps out of the ground. It had bad times and good times while there, but the GI BIll paid for almost all of my college. Cant complain now. But I totally understand why you are frustrated.

Anyone with half a brain knows that without the Airwing, there would be no grunts and with out the grunts, there would be no need for an Airwing. They both have their pros and cons. For example, grunts don't have to deal with WMs that get treated like "daddys little girl" by the higher ups and they have a 4 year contract. However, being an Infantryman is a lot more stressful and way more dangerous than anything we do as airwingers. The bottom line is that it pretty much sucks from all sides.
