It sounds alot like Ralph felt that BBD was ganging up on him post Bobby in relation to making group decisions and Ralph decided to go solo ala Bobby until the financial troubles of the fellas got so bad that he did another NE (NE Heartbreak) album to help them out while putting his solo album at the time on hold.
No wonder some of the fellas are still beefing today as BBD vs Heads of State, the Music Industry is a business 1st and foremost and full of snakes in the grass trying to leech NE.
Thats crazy how that all went down. Ralph had to come in and save the day for the fellas. Bobby wasnt afraid to go solo...even though Ralph kinda wanted him to stay in the group.

Well everything happens for a reason. Ralph want Bobby to stay but then became business partners with BBD. that was a wack move on their part.
