  • Look at your numbers dude... you can't have 486 minutes and 96 seconds.... your maths need checking.

  • Sorry but it seems to me that you look like Justin Timberlake hahaha. Sorry for off topic.

  • if you can get the same results in 2.25 hours compared to 8 hours a week then OBVIOUSLY, TT is MORE efficient.

  • @TheEbonyGreathouse You can't.

  • @DSlayer1993 how do you know you cant?

  • Thanks that was interesting. I have been doing TT and ESE for 2 years now. Much stronger and leaner than when I started. I have never done P90X and based on this comparison I doubt I will try.

  • P90X is just a weight loss proggrame. These results can be achieved through diet ALONE. But not many people are willing to give up their precious cake.

  • get tt member and can get e books from anywhere Google it and finds it any way t.t members only 20 for on line videos better

  • I did not get a shit about which program to choose. I've done almost three rounds of p90x... it works like a charm, but as I need to gain mass i thought maybe it would be better to change the program to T.T.

    - can I get a concrete answer what ya think people?!I

  • P90X sucks. do insanity

  • get a bb gun and shut those fuckin birds up

  • well i put my money where my mouth is and tried TT for 2 months. as an avid P90X-er i enjoyed the TT workouts as they were different. i would recommend alternating between the two if you are one of those masochists who enjoy DOMS.

  • Dude, TT is not only 3 times a week. On the off days it's recommended to put in atleast 30 minutes of low intensity cardio. Agreed even with the additional 30 minutes cardio the total workout time is still shorter than P90x, I just wanted everyone here to know that it's not just 3 times a week. I've been doing TT for a year now. I'm going to start P90x after I'm done with Insanity which I will start today! I could never follow diets so I'm just going to do EatStopEat.

  • its not actual cardio hes talking about. he tells you to just keep active for 30 minutes. to me "not sitting on a couch" doesn't count as training time.

  • What about people with limited space at home? Wouldn't P90X win this one overall as you get a DVD with Tony Horton and others going through to support you whereas TT is all text and captions with no-one to 'look' at your form, rhythm and to make sure you're not cheating yourself.

  • who would be looking at your form with p90x? what you just described is an inhome personal trainer not a dvd set

  • These DVD's work like having a personal trainer and I think those that have tried it would agree. 70% of the time a personal trainer on a DVD throughly explaining the workouts beats text and pictures everytime. If TT had a DVD like P90X then it would be a real matchup. When considering the support it gives to those that lack motivation, space in their home, live in areas with extreme weather conditions and want privacy? P90X or Insanity has got to be the best on the market bar none.

  • I actually haven't done either. But 1 hour per day everyday is a lot to ask of someone during their week. That could be spend on more important things such as family time. Thanks for doing this comparison it really helped me to make a better and more informed decision. The only thing I would have to add though is that watching a video can sometimes be more motivational. But like you say, when it comes to efficiency, TT is the clear winner. Thanks again!

  • I've done both for myself and my clients. Turbulence Training always turned out better for me and cost less than P90X. Great vid by the way.

  • Not trying to be rude or a jackass, but what happened in those 2 years since you went on that body transformation thing? You were pretty well cut in that after pic and now I see 0 definition in your arms.

Maybe your bulking or something, just wondering.

  • I wasn't posing...and I didn't have a pump

  • P90X- I did 90 days of p90x. At first the workouts were very dificult and I thought I was on to something. my pictures looked the best at the end of the first 30 days. I actually gained weight and an additional 7% bf while on the program. The best results I have had thus far were circuit training and following the abs diet a few years back. However I recently started RockBody fitness. The workouts are shorter but way more intense...so we'll see what happens???

  • I have done 6 rounds of P90X and have also concluded that it is inefficient. It doesn't mean you won't get results. On average each workout is 55 minutes long with 15 mins of abs 2-3/week. Individual works out 6 days/week. The weak link is the nutritional guide, "one size does not fit all."

I am currently applying TT concepts to my workouts and use P90x DVDs plyoX and intervalX for interval workouts. My workouts last 50 minutes and are done 4 days/week. I have been very happy with my results.

  • i haven't seen the nutrition guidelines. did you notice people gave you a thumbsdown because you attacked what they hold dear? what a bunch of suckers

  • we need nutrition stuff too man good stuff kettlebells rule.

  • yeah nutrition is a huge part of it...the bulk of my study is exercise and program design though. i just know the basics of nutrition

i like the warrior diet currently

  • Dude despite the clowns below this is a good objective video. Not saying one is better than the other. But in terms of saving time it makes sense. P90x is awesome though.

  • i appreciate that. and i knew it would get everybody's panties in a twist

  • the efficiency part is bullshit. numbers mean nothing. its about how intense you make your own workout. the main idea p90x conveys is that variety is the spice of fitness. so why not do both? ps. Craig Ballantyne is so fucking boring.

  • let me ask you a couple things. first off are you able to tell the difference in bodyfat droppage between the results of the 2 programs and no going on google to cheat. second I challenge the fitness levels of the people who do both of them. guess who is stronger. and third are you there to train or there to be entertained?

  • q1) bodyfat loss depends on the individual.

    q2) go ahead and challenge!

q3) you can workout and be entertained simultaneously, heck thats better.

i get the impression you are a meathead. you 'train' simply to grow 'stronger'. if you stick with any of these programs for 90 days guess what... your lifestyle will change forever. so do both. its just 90 fricken days thats efficient enough!

  • i train for the total package. guess what efficiency isn't about the time frame...they both take the same amount of time. its about the amount of effort put in per the amount that you get out of it....and its all there 3 hours a week is better then 8 hours a week. which job would you rather work, one that takes up 3 days a week + benefits or one that takes 6 days a week + benefits while the paycheck is the same

  • fair point, i get what you're trying to say. but there are elements in p90x that aid you workouts. for example, yoga and stretching (2.5 hours worth) add an extra dimension to working out. maybe you cant see the benefits on the outside but damn you feel awesome after. if you just stick the lifting sessions (3 hours a week) you could probably get the same results as TT.

  • right that was the point of the video. yoga can be used for recovery. not a fan of the plyometrics or the kenpo. mainly because plyometrics is taken out of context and is very draining on the nervous system.

  • TT dosent have that recovery element. if you keep lifting, something is bound to go wrong sooner or later. yeah, maybe you look great and all that aesthetic bs but if you get injured you're gonna experience muscle atrophy bigtime.

as for plyo it is draining but it is only once a week. enough time to recover. besides, leading sportsmen and athletes all over the world swear by it as the pros outweigh the cons. ur right on the kenpo tho.

  • TT does have stuff in there for recovery its just different then p90x

yes pro athletes do use plyometrics...but they don't jump around their living rooms to increase their performance. plyometrics the way athletes use it is "touch and go" and is used as a "shock" technique right before the back off

  • This is an absolutley worthless video. Listen, the P90X wasn't designed for just weight loss but to build stamina, strenght, endurance and good nutritional habits for long period of time. 3 hours of working out a week will not give you that. Think about it. If you want to lose weight TT works sure, but you will still have the flab. P90X takes that fat and tones your body. Remember, too good to be true is an understatement of this video. If you want a sculpted body, get the P90X

  • is there something wrong with your vision or something? you can't even tell the difference between the results obtained using tt as opposed to p90x. has it ever occured to you that p90x is not the be all end all of fitness programs

tt will give you all of the aformentioned benefits...without putting you in a constant state of overtraining

  • That was very informative! I have been using P90X for 60 days now. It is a rough work out, but I really see a major result (which shocked me at first). I am very impressed with this type of work out. What do you recommend I do after the 90 days? Any other programs I should try? Thanks for the input!

  • A lot of people think that they can just workout really hard for 30 mins and then just sit on the sofa and watch TV for the rest of the day. An active lifestyle is 24/7 (except when you're sleeping) not 30 mins a day of weightlifting or whatever it is they do. If you don't want to be fat, don't get fat in the first place.

  • it can be done in 30mins of training

the thing is if you just go eat a pizza or whatever you just undid everything.

people have a hard time getting that through their heads

  • so what is a active lifestyle then? :)

  • An active lifestyle includes "activities" hence the word active. Things like kayaking, bicycling, swimming, basketball and other sports are actually fun to do or play, and burn calories at the same time. Once you start loving being an active person you don't even think about your workout routine, you just do it because it becomes a daily routine which is part of your lifestyle, a lifestyle that is healthier than most people out there.

  • For someone looking to improve their physique for swimsuit season, I guess the shortest most efficient method would be preferred.

For someone like me who lives and breathes fitness and health, I prefer daily training, and I prefer P90X and +.

P.S. I'm no "Beachbody Coach". In fact they sort of annoy the hell out of me.

  • I've never tried the P90X or Turb. Train. systems either, but I've had a few clients ask me about it and I tell them that the theory of "muscle confusion" and circuit training has been around for a while.

I feel that deep down Horton is a "pichman" trying to make a buck. Does he really care about client success? Maybe, maybe not. I could be wrong but I don't remeber seeing anything on his infomercial about nutrition.

  • there is actually a nutrition program. Tony may not even write the program out but he is a personality which is why he is the face of the p90 programs

  • @firetrainer33 are you serious? P90X comes with a complete nutrition guide! and I guess I can see where "Horton is a 'pichman' [sic]" But truth be told, whether we like it or not, Horton is Good at what he does and has motivated tons of people in america to go from couch potatoes to fitness enthusiasts. He deserves every penny he gets.

  • i'm doin the p90x and my results are amazing. effeciency wasnt why i went with it. i spent over a month, every single day researching different methods and found that because of my need for the discipline i needed something i would be forced to do. 2 hrs a week, would just make me feel lazy. i needed more structure. I'm sure TT has helped those with very limited time, but not for me.

  • remember i never said p90x didn't work...it quite clearly does. the vid was to show which would get you there more efficiently. p90x works...it just requires you put A LOT into it

  • Mate, leave the seconds...you will make ur point in 2 min video

  • Yes thats pretty cool, but would it work for anyone that does the simple basic rutines...
