My personal belief was that Buddhism was the only path I know of, where people are not warring each other- so imagine my surprise.
God and his spirit simply sent out different "salesmen", but essentially we are all striving to attain peace and salvation. There is nothing to fight about!
Let's look for each other's beauty, rather than looking for the smallest of faults to disapprove. With Metta,,,,,,,,,
If you don't choose this path then simply move on and find your own way. To come with the intent to put down others shows your attachment to the desire of being superior. As if we are to be grateful because you have shared your views with us. Be strong enough to move on in silence and may you find peace in this life as well as the next.
thanks for posting this version, really, thank you.
it is sad to see some beautiful people here kind of insulting each other and arguing aboout thinngs that should make us smile... i do not care if any of your points of views point into one or another direction and which ones is right or wrong.
uploading this mantra is enough for me to be grateful to the person who did it
may we all abide in peace and try to accept each other in whatever way we are
sorry shilpusuresh, there is no stability of arguement in your replies .what type of Buddhist you are couldnot be understood! sometimes u support Hinduism n sometimes christianity..what a wonder?I stop here as I could not reply to such an irrational thiking person..bye I surprised with your bible quotation! If you say any relavent Dhamma sutras or any Buddhist moral sutthas I would be happy ok ..Rajan
Thanks for making my argument for me. Closed minded religion, forbids human beings the freedom to think for themselves and use their own minds. Yes, we should all sit inside properly labeled, religious boxes. Why be free?
your reply on religion is something radical but the Buddha Dhamma is a way of life for mankind in the world ,not like other religions which link man with god n heaven! ok bye -Rajan
There is nothing radical in my reply, Rokkalarajan. You began the thread by saying how Buddhism should be treated and the words should be displayed. Whenever we get legalistic about rules of any Dharma, we make that Dharma, irrational, ignorant and unworthy of being called a way of life! There is a verse in the Bible that says, "All things are pure for the pure in heart." A pure person wouldn't have problem with any picture. They would enjoy the sutras in a different light
Thanks for ur irrational reply but Buddhism is not Hinduism its against to the irrational rediculous principles of human mankind in Hinduism .like you orthodox people made Buddhis as hinduism.sorry for ur comment regarding ignorance n delusion you can change your mind set first .WHAT BUDDHA DHAMMA says ?BUDDHISM related to mankind n maithri love the world but not the ascetic life! Rational thinking is not seen in you so unhappy in the name of Buddhism-Rajan,India ,Dhammavandana
Irrational? ? ? Religions are irrational, dogmatic and oppressive to humanity. Religions take away the individual's right to think for themselves, and pursue their own happiness. You can take the good of any religion and practice it. But the minute you go around demanding respect, and going around saying how a sutra, or mantra, or ritual is supposed to be used, you are showing a lack of understanding. Humans made religion. Religion serves human beings, not the other way around!
@Shilpusuresh You are right. Religion was made by man. The Abrahmaic religions are the only ones that say they were devinely transmitted. However, saying that having non-religious views, such as yours, is non-dogmatic is untrue. Your views are just as dogmatic as some religions are. Buddhism is non-dogmatic. Google the Kalamas Sutra to see what the Buddha said about any teachings, including his. If people choose to study and practice it, it is their choice, just as you have made a choice.
@buutich Choices are always changing too. You understand the message of the Buddha, & you understand that attachment, to our views, values, ways of doing things, or the experiences we have had thus far, are dogmas in themselves. So neither be attached to your own, nor expect others to hold or stand by their attachments. Religions, isms, all groups are dogmatic because they are added to by the views and attachments of deliberate and sentient beings, regardless of their enlightened beginnings
the pic Buddha pose boy is not good ,the song is not clear, its not useful for the Buddhist culture please change the pic in this video at once...Buddhavandana
Thank you for your passion in commenting here. But anyone and everyone can honor the Buddha dharma in anyway they want. You do not get to determine what spirituality is for others. The mind of Gautum Buddha, would know that your comments come from ignorance and delusion to worldly attachments & notions. Buddhism has been assimilated in cultures around the world, each changing it to its liking Sadhu
your reply is not correct your ignorance n delution only seems to be Hindusim .Infact Buddhism is against to Hinduism .you like people changed to your way of life...sorry to say Buddhism is related to worldly mankind n all living beings .Its only the rational Dhamma useful to the world..thanks,Rajan,India
Well, actually rokkalarajan, I'm Not Hindu! The Buddha was Indian, he was Hindu, and much of the Hindu philosophy is carried over in Buddhism. Monasticism and freedom through enlightenment, are the two things that are different in Buddhism. Everything else is the same, including beliefs in Gods like Indra or Brahma. Are you from India or Khmer? I was curious whether you are a Mahayana, Theraveda or Zen Buddhist?
Thank you kindly for posting suttas in English. It is very helpful to myself, a Buddhist living without any community or teachers for immediate support. It is difficult to become familiar with the foreign languages and it is a joy to chant and understand the meanings of the words.
there are no bells or instruments in the sutta, but it is very nice a capella & gives people who don't speak any Indian dialects a chance to understand them.
Could you be more specific like the exact second where you're hearing the bongs because I didn't have any on the audio and normally there aren't in thai lao sutras
no, i said there are NO bongs/bells here like there are in tibetan chanting and that's what i miss. anyway i live in the bermuda triangle so whatever i say comes out djhoffb
thank you for posting this in english, although i read sutras and suttas in english i have only recited them in temples in mandarin, this was a treat. may you receive the blessings of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. metta.
Hi patra2273 I have the words on the right side of the video under the description. Just like on "more..." in blue and you should see the whole chant. Thanks
Nice of you to say that tashigyamsto. What Sangha do you chant with? I like the sanganeeyaka styles but the slower versions are nice too they bring us to deeply meditate on the words so the power is significant
He plays the character of Neelkanth, who left his home at 11 to meditate and be a sage; traveled alone throughout India, and later became the great reformer of social justice and humanity: Swami Narayana. He passed away decades ago but his followers seem very fervent in regards to service. I went to one temple in Ahmedabad, India and they had a whole museum dedicated to his life. Check out the IMAX movie MYSTIC INDIA playing in different cities. Its a journey of India through Neelkanth's eyes
