I agree that ITG is a knock-off of DDR, but I feel strongly that they improved upon its base, or at the very least, made it better for a certain target audience.

For one, it's got very different music, and that's god or bad depending on yoru tastes.

Two, it's significantly harder (which I love), and there is less reuse of the same step-patterns between different songs.

And lastly, they make more efficient use of screen-space, putting less focus on reading cluttered arrows and more on execution.

I don't like the fact that in some cases you have to put your foot (or hand(s)) on multiple arrows at one... and being able to read cluttered arrows is a skill that helps build onto execution of arrows.
