@alanbstard4 Who wants to repair it? Someone who would want to get more use out of it I guess. Viri aren't much of a problem anymore I don't even use anti-virus I built my rig with an AMD 3.2 ghz quad core processor a 1TB HDD an MSI graphics card so I don't have to use the on-board IGP radeon 3200 which isn't that bad. Bought a case with a couple lights. It's a very nice unit and has lasted me a couple years now I think. Hasn't frozen once. If I got a virus re-install the OS. Cost me $700.
@AveragelifeofKai well if it works for you, a PC that has no viruses, rthat's excellent. What do you do on this PC? do you use it for email and going to risky sites that may have viruses?
@alanbstard4 I use it for work and home. I've visited sites that may have viri lurking around but still have never encountered any problem. Most likely, if anything were to infect my PC, I'd just install spybot and it'd remove it in less than an hour. Haven't had to do that yet. Same goes with my laptop I bought some years ago. @DarkAnthix I have a watercooled x58 core i7, 2 GTX 480s in an Obsidian 800D case. I'm the one whos poor? It has nothing to do with being rich or poor. People dislike macs because they are overpriced. The only reason i don't like Apple is because there are so many Fanboys and i don't want to become a bitch like you or him. If you were rich you wouldn't even care about commenting on Youtube. Stop fuckin lying and get your head out of Steve Job's fuckin ASS.
But the truth is, It is VERY close to the quality of the mac. Sure the mac might look better but the hardware is virtually the same/better. Not everyone cares about just looks.
Applesolider u rock i love watching u make fun of these retards i piss myself laughin its so funny please make more some people r fuck heads keep up the good work (mac rule)
dont know. i was going to the Adobepc channle, and i posted that he need to go to the gym and get a hair cut, and i was not rude or anything, and then he comes out with some really dum stuff and talking trash, and i offer him a place, at my daycare center,
and he dit not get it, he's IQ get to be lower in 40
Man your such a dickhead, this video reminded me of an unfair 60 minutes report.
I will submit that Macs do have a good thing going on with video editing but pound for pound a $1000 PC is going to shit all over the performance of a $2500 Mac and that's not because a Mac's are shit, that's because your getting fucked in the ass by the Mac corporation.
@DeanWhipper again you PC fruits miss the point. It's about reliability, no viruses and all that shit too. That's why macs are in production studios and PCs are not
Rather be a troll than a clueless backwater hick who states opinions as fact, and has to have his cronies like (leet speak boy there) fill in the massive chasms in your arguments.
Tell me emeek, did alienware still copy the industry standard power symbol off the macbooks? LOL
Remember your sad video encouraging mac users to physically assault pc users? LOL
What leet speak? Oh i don't know maybe the leet speak thats present every single time you make a response as its part of your name. Are you really that clueless?
Actually don't answer that "bro" it might require you to engage your brain which would clearly lead to a burn out.
When I talk about people's vids, I talk about the subject matter. When YOU talk about the vids. You talk about everything BUT the subject matter. That's because you don't really have a strong argument. Never did, never will.
dude ive had my pc for like 4 years and it hasnt messed up my friends mac was left in a car and is screen bled...on the inside it was like red slime inside his screen........not with a pc
not mostly cause mac screens are so tiny and a really bad wire-ing in the back because of the lil screen so if you do somethin stupid.....which teens do all the time then the mac will break easily and theyll send you another one....if you have warranty!
I've never had a problem with the screen on any of my macs. The closest thing was a problem with the videocard problem on my iMac that I caused. Apple fixed that for free because it wasn't obvious that it was user error, even though it was.
But, if you break your screen and it is obvious that it was user error, they won't fix you up.
There are PLENTY of PC laptops that have suffered screen damages like you describe bro.
Emeek is a failure tbh. Even in his imac vs custom build comparrison he forgot to add in the fucking motherboard, not to mention u can buy a motherboard with wireless & all those extra usb ports etc are included in the actual motherboard box.
No one wants to see ur stupid videos of u owning people when u own urself when u make videos by looking like a fuck. If u ever put up one of my vids "owning" me, I'm gonna shit in ur mouth
AdobePC is a pwnographic star. I predict his next video would be comparing just an empty $30 box case to a $2500 MacPro to prove a point that you can get more value out of a custom build. Except he'll just probably compare a custom build to an iPhone contrary to the main subject at hand.
Damn adobePC, you really fucked up on your comparison. This could have been configured better. With your final price, you could've got the same CPU, a $200 MOBO, $150 GPU, $70 PSU, $100 Case, $170 two 1TB HDD's in raid, $30 DVD, that leaves $80 for keyboard and Mice. total $1100.
bahahahahahaha quality entertainment, Im a mac fan, and im not the biggest supporter of Applesoldier although i watch a lot of his vids, but this was a fuckin pisser.
Every adobe product that comes out has more features and shit on PC than it does on Mac and it has them first. Theres a reason for that. And yes, i can build a PC for 1k that will rape the shit out of macpro. Its not fucking rocket science its pretty fucking simple and really obviously not in favor of Mac.
He was using Emeeks video as an example of why Emeek is totally wrong on the subject of custom builds. As I posted in a previous comment, why would a desktop user need wifi, bluetooth, firewire, etc other things that they probably have no need for? Not everyone has a wifi router. Not everyone uses bluetooth. Firewire? What do most people own that has firewire? The last / only thing I ever owned that was firewire was the 2nd gen iPod. Luckily my motherboard at the time had that onboard.
I dunno if you havent seen the comment yet, but I just priced out, spec by spec, which is a way better job than you did in your video, parts compared to the 2.8ghz i7 imac. I came up with about $1350. That also includes a case where you can mount the monitor onto.
another 27" LED Backlit IPS display would be comparable. However, there are none to my knowledge. So, a 30" IPS display that doesn't have an LED backlight would count as a makeshift comparison.
16:10 30" display has 408,000 more pixels on screen (because it has 3" more screen)
16:9 27" has superior color clarity and vibrancy (because it has an LED backlight and so on)
Oh the delimmas. Should keep this inferior 27" LCD that offers better contrast ratio and brightness, or get something that has IPS for about $600 more? Woe is me.
IPS does offer slightly better color and little better viewing angle, but again, why are you going to be at any odd angles when you are viewing the monitor? In all serious-ness, why the need for 178 degree viewing angle? Thats like being almost perpendicular to the damn thing.
well, my answer is it depends on what I'm doing. I'd say a few feet. Like 3 or four maybe more than that. Unless I'm showing off vids to friends or something, then I'd sit even farther back.
Emeeks POINT is that the iMac is a great deal, for what you get.
His video WAS NOT about what you CAN get or what you might NEED. Getting in your feelings because Emeek shows that the iMac is a good deal is just a waste of energy.
Personally, I don't use bluetooth. But it is nice to have. I use my wifi all the time. In fact, I'm on my wireless network now. Firewire has come in handy for me. I really missed it when I got my Unibody Macbook.
None of that shit was important. Emeek's original vid was a price comparison of the iMac. Adobe was trying to CHANGE THE SUBJECT. He always does that shit when he has no real argument.
I'm sure that the configuration that adobepc showed beats the stock mac pro in a geekbench. I guarantee it. What if you wanted to game with a stock mac pro with a gt 120 compared with a 220gt. Heck adobepc could have added a 5870 and own you even more.
I watchedevery part asshole. Applesoldier is a retarded. Go watch my video folks. I state right up fron that applesoldier did a decent job at picking out a PC system to mimic the iMac. I also stated I was building a PC to compete with the Mac Pro.
Ownage is indeed comming. As usual Applesoldier butcher up my video.
hey asshole next time take the time to look at the comment above mine, the one i was responding too. then you would see i was quoting what adobepc said and i was supporting apple soldier.
Sure, like he tried to own me on some comments I made about RAID on macwards video, about something completely irrelevant to my original comments. Emeek, macward and most other mac fanboys love to twist the meaning of what we say around to their own meaning in order to "own" us. Its just sad.
I expect a little better form you. You now me better than that dude.
The motherboard for my system I have now is $45.00. I got it for a great price becuase it was a discontinued MOBO for the Yorkfield CPUs. Don't get confused vwbond.
The Motherboard in my video is $99.99. You should be able to see the price in the video.
As of now I think the least expensive I7 MOBO Is $89.99 but that will drop to about $65.00 in about 8 months. MOBOs get cheaper like anything else.
You should have said that in the video. I'm not confused I'm just going off what you said.
adobePC-Yes, we all can get things on sale but your attempting to compare to an Mac Pro and say you don't need raid and this and that. We talking about now- not 8 months from not.
you still dont get the pint do you? he isn't talking about needs. he's talking about what you get for your money. and the mac is worth about the same if not better value for money than the pc. just forget about needs for a few minutes.
AdoebPC is trying to put his custom PC into a lower margin much like OEMS for the purpose of making it cheaper then the mac-pro, however he'll turn around and when he's actually buying a PC he'll spend almost 2000 for something that couldn't even stand up to the baseline 21" iMac at $1200 CAD then claim it's better because he can "upgrade" it. also most PC users definition of upgrading is the ability to swap out components it doesn't neccearly mean it'll support new hardware when it comes out.
In his video he is not comparing the PC he customized to an iMac, but to a Mac Pro. Reason hes showing Emeeks video is because Emeek does not understand why people custom build. People make custom build machines to fit their needs. If they can save some by not including bluetooth, which really is a waste, they can use that saved money to boost some other part of their machine. I dont need a desktop to have wireless, bluetooth has very limited use. So why bother with that in a desktop?
not the point dumbass. your the one skewing things. i said you cant build a pc much cheaper than a 27" imac. if you give the pc the same especially they are close in price, that was the point of my video, you all are the ones taking my video and responding with something that wasn't intended.
I am going to correct you on said video emeek. I have had it with your biased garbage. Call it ownage call it what you want. However you nitpicked over 2 usb ports. (which most PC motherboards have more USB ports than an imac) and then you nitpicked over bluetooth (which most desktops don't use) and ignored the resolution and screen size entirely. You realize I could do the same thing, say a 24" ips display is the same as an imac and force you to include hardware the imac doesnt have.
Dude. The screen size is only 3" more and the resolution is only 408,000 more pixels BECAUSE it has more real estate for that.
It balances out because the iMac Display has an LED Backlight that makes the colors more vibrant when compared to the 30" display. If you sat them next to each other, the iMac's display would draw your attention much better than the 30". That is, unless you know of any other 27" LED backlit IPS panels on the market.
@sc0pl355 Dell will be releasing a 27" Led backlit display with 2560x1440 resolution. This would be a fair comparison. Considering apple's cinema display is well over the cost of that dell there is no argument. Its 3 inches more and has a higher resolution. It is not a fair comparison by any terms. It is not the same thing. Also my 30" IPS display has the same brightness and better contrast ratio than the 27" so mine would look better next to it.
Yeah, then when dell does that, then you can compare. But if you think it will be cheap, you are out of your mind.
Apple's 30" Cinema display IS NOT LED Backlit. Dell has a 30" display that costs about $100 less.
Actually, no, your display probably won't look better next to it. The LED backlight makes the colors extremely vibrant. Seriously, go look at one in person dude. The backlight makes a BIG difference.
I disagree, I have seen the glossy LED backlit displays. The glare is pretty bad to be honest. I prefer non-glossy screens. I understand their reasoning but still. Thats my point is no on makes a 30" LED backlit display. Not even apple. The brighness on mine rivals a the 27"
LG W3000H-Bn Black 30" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP Support 370 cd/m2 3000:1 w/ 4 USB ports
I have seen the new imac at best buy, same issue, glossy, reflective, not my thing. As I am stating lets see what it costs when dell releases it. Even apple doesn't sell a 27" display, they sell a computer. So for the point of accuracy its too new. It is not fair to compare it to a 30". We don't know how much it would cost separately. You cant just trade stuff off either and say its the same thing, you don't have a point of reference because no one sells 2560x1440 displays yet.
If you read what I said earlier, you'd see that I said that a 27" LED backlit IPS panel would be preferable in a comparison. but since one does not exist, then a Makeshift comparison is in order.
It is certainly safe to say that such a display will NOT cost you $200.
I agree it is safe, however if makeshift comparisons can be done, the fact that they are makeshift throws all accuracy out the window. I could likewise make a price for the 27" display and say I could build a PC cheaper using a makeshift comparison. Throwing all reason out the window. You cannot use makeshift to compare something. You cannot make arguments off of nothing when you have no info.
1) Emeek's attempt at building a PC was a makeshift build. it did not have the exact same parts.
2) We have lots of info bro. We know what type of display technology the displays use, we know what resolutions are. We know about how much the technology costs and what each display has/doesn't have.
Anyhow, here's the landscape difference between a 27" display like the iMac's and a 30" display.
snipurl. c o m / tezs1
The blue is the 27" display. The red is what a 30" display has.
1) he demanded the PC have the exact same parts, bluetooth and USB, however disregarded that he cannot get the same monitor.
2) You did not get a valid price comparison when it comes to the actual price of a 27" display with an LED backlight and 2560x1440 resolution. This throws your whole cost scenario out the window.
Yes and the amount of pixels on the bottom is enough to display a full size DVD movie.
1) The PC will not have all the exact same parts bro. That is like dividing by zero.
2) The pixels at the bottom ARE technically enough to watch a DVD movie. Too bad that they are stuck in a row at either the bottom or top of the screen. The screen on my Macbook is enough to watch TWO full sized DVD movies if that's the case bro. Call me when the 30" has twice the resolution or more than the 27"
1) I didn't agree with comparing the iMac outside of its category. The iMac is at a price disadvantage in the regular desktop category. But, if the iMac wins, then that is even MORE in favor of saying that it isn't overpriced.
2) Enough for 720 × 480 but not enough for 720 × 576. The 27" display is at a different aspect ratio. So the pixels gained from using a 30" display is that you gain more area vertically. In essence, the 27" is like a 30 with the top or bottom trimmed.
I think that a 27" LED backlit IPS display with these proportions, would retail about as much as a 30" without LED backlighting. Maybe a $100 difference one way or the other. Considering that Apple sells their 24-inch LED ACD for $900 and their 30" for $1700, I would imagine that they would sell a 27" for $1200 or so. That is VERY conservative on my part. They might charge up to $1400.
I think that the same display, elsewhere would cost about $1000 or more, but still less than an ACD, maybe.
@sc0pl355 Lets look at this another way. Disregard apple pricing for displays of course because it is always inflated. In fact lets look at the same resolution, same company. Does a 24" display cost the same as a 26" or 28"? What about a monitor with better response time? Better contrast ratio? If the answer is no then your whole argument is invalid. Because there are too many factors to say it is the same thing. You will have to actually wait until it comes out.
Depends on the displays bro. their 24" display prices vary between $250-$600 depending on quality and panel technology.
Anyhow, the DELL ULTRASHARP 2709W costs $929 and it is a PVA display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. How much do you think it would cost as an IPS panel? LED backlight?? At the iMac's Resolution???
You seem to have ignored my point entirely. You found an expensive dell monitor and brought it up even though it has nothing to do with what I was saying. The only difference is LED backlight and the superior screen size and resolution of a 30". Lets assume the same resolution but a bigger display. Does the bigger display cost more? The answer is yes but you refuse to accept it.
I found an expensive monitor? Dude, that's the only display that Dell has that is between the 24" and 30". It uses a PVA panel, which is NOT as good as an IPS panel.
Same resolution and bigger screen means that the SMALLER screen has more bit depth, which would raise the price of the SMALLER screen dude.
At the end of the day, the larger screen will only cost A LITTLE BIT MORE.
@sc0pl355 Dot pitch is a minor detail in price. Lets do another comparison. Lets look at LCD tvs. How much more is 3 inches? Panel type, response time, refresh rate, dot pitch, resolution, screen size, and manufacturer, as well as backlighting all effect price. So no as you conclude here it is not a fair comparison. Also that display is almost 30% more than the other for not even a full 3 inches difference.
LCD tv's are different bro. You're limitied to 1080p no matter what size you have and it shows.
You're NOT going to see an IPS panel in a LCD tv bro.
With LCD tv's, 90% of what you're paying for is the size. We are talking about LCD monitors. There is a reason why a 30" monitor costs SEVERAL TIMES the price of a 30" LCD TV
Thats nice and all but you're pushing a double standard. Wait until dell releases their 27" IPS led backlit display and then make a comparison. The panels are mostly made by LG and sold to third parties anyway. If LED backlighting is important to you then why even compare to a 30"? No one makes an LED backlight 30". Again it is not a true comparison and it is not accurate.
I even state up front that emeek did a decent job trying to make the PC mimic the iMac. What if my MOBO supported RAID, SATA 3 and USB 3.0. Does that make mine better by default? . There a features in the custom builds that are not in the iMac. He does not point out the Pros of the custom builds.
The point of his video IS NOT to point out the Pros of custom builds dude. He was basically saying that the iMac is well priced, which it is.
Custom builds having this or that, which the iMac doesn't have, doesn't diminish what Emeek's video was about unless it causes the prices of the components in his comparison to suddenly drop drastically.
His vid was NOT about what you could get or what you may/may not need. It was about whether the iMac had a good price for what you get.
Also I what is the price difference between an LCD with 1920x1200 display and 1920x1080 display both with backlit leds. That should give you your answer.
i think your name should applenoob

DarkAnthix 1 year ago

KingKash94 2 years ago
That screen thing can happen on PC's too bro.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
not mostly cause mac screens are so tiny and a really bad wire-ing in the back because of the lil screen so if you do somethin stupid.....which teens do all the time then the mac will break easily and theyll send you another one....if you have warranty!
KingKash94 2 years ago
Huh?
No and No
I've never had a problem with the screen on any of my macs.

AdobePC is a pwnographic star. I predict his next video would be comparing just an empty $30 box case to a $2500 MacPro to prove a point that you can get more value out of a custom build. Except he'll just probably compare a custom build to an iPhone contrary to the main subject at hand.

AppleSoldier 2 years ago
I dunno if you havent seen the comment yet, but I just priced out, spec by spec, which is a way better job than you did in your video, parts compared to the 2.8ghz i7 imac. I came up with about $1350. That also includes a case where you can mount the monitor onto.
kaosum2 2 years ago
That wasn't even Emeek's point dude.
Emeek's point was that the iMac is a very good deal for what you get.
Way better job that what I did in MY video? WHAT VIDEO IS THAT??? Did you even WATCH my videos???
All of MY videos compare the Octo-Core Mac Pro to other Octo-Core workstations! Slow your roll son.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
D'oh! I thought you were talking to me.
How the hell did you get $1350 and have a comparable display? That isn't even possible.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
What is comparable, in your words. What criteria would the monitor need to have to be comparable?
kaosum2 2 years ago
the 27" iMac has a 27" LED backlit IPS display.
another 27" LED Backlit IPS display would be comparable. However, there are none to my knowledge. So, a 30" IPS display that doesn't have an LED backlight would count as a makeshift comparison.
16:10 30" display has 408,000 more pixels on screen (because it has 3" more screen)
16:9 27" has superior color clarity and vibrancy (because it has an LED backlight and so on)
sc0pl355 2 years ago
Oh the delimmas. Should keep this inferior 27" LCD that offers better contrast ratio and brightness, or get something that has IPS for about $600 more? Woe is me.
kaosum2 2 years ago
What's your contrast ratio and brightness dude?
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
see post below.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 40000:1, brightness 400cd / m^2.
kaosum2 2 years ago
Interesting.
What is your viewing angle?
sc0pl355 2 years ago
Its the Acer B273HU. Viewing angle 160 degrees.
IPS does offer slightly better color and little better viewing angle, but again, why are you going to be at any odd angles when you are viewing the monitor? In all serious-ness, why the need for 178 degree viewing angle? Thats like being almost perpendicular to the damn thing.
kaosum2 2 years ago
Acer B273HU? TN panel. No thanks
Let's say I'm showing a bunch of friends some vids. I want everyone to have a clear view of the whole thing.
If I'm working on something that requires me to see colors accurately, I want to be able to see them perfectly all of the time at almost every angle.

sc0pl355 2 years ago
Lemme ask this, since no one else has been able to. How far away from your face would you sit any 27" monitor?
kaosum2 2 years ago
Depends on what I'm doing.
The fact is that I'd be able to see the difference between both displays from the other side of the room.
Your display= TN panel, Lower resolution, thousands of colors diffused to simulate millions.
27" iMac= IPS panel, Higher resolution, 24bit Truecolor (16.8 million colors)
sc0pl355 2 years ago
My question had no sinificants to whether the monitor is IPS or TN.
kaosum2 2 years ago
well, my answer is it depends on what I'm doing. I'd say a few feet. Like 3 or four maybe more than that. Unless I'm showing off vids to friends or something, then I'd sit even farther back.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
Emeeks POINT is that the iMac is a great deal, for what you get.
His video WAS NOT about what you CAN get or what you might NEED. Getting in your feelings because Emeek shows that the iMac is a good deal is just a waste of energy.
Personally, I don't use bluetooth. But it is nice to have. I use my wifi all the time. In fact, I'm on my wireless network now. Firewire has come in handy for me. I really missed it when I got my Unibody Macbook.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
None of that shit was important. Emeek's original vid was a price comparison of the iMac. Adobe was trying to CHANGE THE SUBJECT. He always does that shit when he has no real argument.

vwbond,
I expect a little better form you.
MOBOs get cheaper like anything else.
adobePC 2 years ago
You should have said that in the video. I'm not confused I'm just going off what you said.
adobePC-Yes, we all can get things on sale but your attempting to compare to an Mac Pro and say you don't need raid and this and that. We talking about now- not 8 months from not.

I only mentioned in the beginning as to why buy a $250.00 MOBO If a $45.00 MOBO will fit my needs.
adobePC 2 years ago

sc0pl355 2 years ago
AdoebPC is trying to put his custom PC into a lower margin much like OEMS for the purpose of making it cheaper then the mac-pro, however he'll turn around and when he's actually buying a PC he'll spend almost 2000 for something that couldn't even stand up to the baseline 21" iMac at $1200 CAD then claim it's better because he can "upgrade" it. also most PC users definition of upgrading is the ability to swap out components it doesn't neccearly mean it'll support new hardware when it comes out.

XXASCII808XX 2 years ago
In his video he is not comparing the PC he customized to an iMac, but to a Mac Pro. Reason hes showing Emeeks video is because Emeek does not understand why people custom build. People make custom build machines to fit their needs. If they can save some by not including bluetooth, which really is a waste, they can use that saved money to boost some other part of their machine. I dont need a desktop to have wireless, bluetooth has very limited use. So why bother with that in a desktop?
kaosum2 2 years ago
Yup, and even if people later wanted to get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse they almost always come with the dongle anyway.
TheEire55 2 years ago
not the point dumbass. your the one skewing things. i said you cant build a pc much cheaper than a 27" imac. if you give the pc the same especially they are close in price, that was the point of my video, you all are the ones taking my video and responding with something that wasn't intended.
AppleSoldier 2 years ago
I am going to correct you on said video emeek. I have had it with your biased garbage. Call it ownage call it what you want. However you nitpicked over 2 usb ports. (which most PC motherboards have more USB ports than an imac) and then you nitpicked over bluetooth (which most desktops don't use) and ignored the resolution and screen size entirely. You realize I could do the same thing, say a 24" ips display is the same as an imac and force you to include hardware the imac doesnt have.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
That is, unless you know of any other 27" LED backlit IPS panels on the market.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355 Dell will be releasing a 27" Led backlit display with 2560x1440 resolution. This would be a fair comparison. Considering apple's cinema display is well over the cost of that dell there is no argument. Its 3 inches more and has a higher resolution. It is not a fair comparison by any terms. It is not the same thing. Also my 30" IPS display has the same brightness and better contrast ratio than the 27" so mine would look better next to it.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
Yeah, then when dell does that, then you can compare. But if you think it will be cheap, you are out of your mind.
Apple's 30" Cinema display IS NOT LED Backlit. Dell has a 30" display that costs about $100 less.
Actually, no, your display probably won't look better next to it. The LED backlight makes the colors extremely vibrant. Seriously, go look at one in person dude. The backlight makes a BIG difference.
BTW, what model is your display?
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
I disagree, I have seen the glossy LED backlit displays. The glare is pretty bad to be honest. I prefer non-glossy screens. I understand their reasoning but still. Thats my point is no on makes a 30" LED backlit display. Not even apple. The brighness on mine rivals a the 27"
LG W3000H-Bn Black 30" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP Support 370 cd/m2 3000:1 w/ 4 USB ports
zoulkyud 2 years ago
The new iMac looks better than the LED Backlit cinema displays dude.
No one makes a 30" LED backlit display? I already knew that bro. Can you show me another 27" LED backlit display?
The LG W3000H-Bn costs over $1k. how much do you think it would cost with an LED backlight? If you say the same, you're off base.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
You cant just trade stuff off either and say its the same thing, you don't have a point of reference because no one sells 2560x1440 displays yet.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
If you read what I said earlier, you'd see that I said that a 27" LED backlit IPS panel would be preferable in a comparison. but since one does not exist, then a Makeshift comparison is in order.
It is certainly safe to say that such a display will NOT cost you $200.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
You cannot make arguments off of nothing when you have no info.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
1) Emeek's attempt at building a PC was a makeshift build. it did not have the exact same parts.
2) We have lots of info bro. We know what type of display technology the displays use, we know what resolutions are. We know about how much the technology costs and what each display has/doesn't have.
Anyhow, here's the landscape difference between a 27" display like the iMac's and a 30" display.
snipurl. c o m / tezs1
The blue is the 27" display. The red is what a 30" display has.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
Yes and the amount of pixels on the bottom is enough to display a full size DVD movie.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
1) The PC will not have all the exact same parts bro. That is like dividing by zero.
2) The pixels at the bottom ARE technically enough to watch a DVD movie. Too bad that they are stuck in a row at either the bottom or top of the screen. The screen on my Macbook is enough to watch TWO full sized DVD movies if that's the case bro. Call me when the 30" has twice the resolution or more than the 27"
sc0pl355 2 years ago
@sc0pl355
1) Then don't do a comparison. That is my point. Like you said dividing by zero.
2)The pixels count or amount is enough. I didnt say the bottom row. I just said the amount of pixels. Which it is.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
1) I didn't agree with comparing the iMac outside of its category. The iMac is at a price disadvantage in the regular desktop category. But, if the iMac wins, then that is even MORE in favor of saying that it isn't overpriced.
2) Enough for 720 × 480 but not enough for 720 × 576. The 27" display is at a different aspect ratio. So the pixels gained from using a 30" display is that you gain more area vertically. In essence, the 27" is like a 30 with the top or bottom trimmed.
sc0pl355 2 years ago
2a) Dell ultrasharp U2410 costs $600 and is 24" as well as has a resolution of 1920 x 1200.
Do you think a 27" LED Backlit display that has a resolution of 2550 x 1440 would cost more or less?

Do you know it will cost the exact same as a 30"? Will it cost more or less?
Just sayin.

You will have to actually wait until it comes out.

does a 24" display cost the same as a 26 or 28?
Depends on the displays bro. their 24" display prices vary between $250-$600 depending on quality and panel technology.
Anyhow, the DELL ULTRASHARP 2709W costs $929 and it is a PVA display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. How much do you think it would cost as an IPS panel? LED backlight?? At the iMac's Resolution???

@sc0pl355

Look at this
S2409W 24-inch= $279
ST2310 23-inch= $229
S2209W 21.5-inch=$199

Stay on subject.

Cool story, bro.

"You're NOT going to see an IPS panel in a LCD tv bro."
Yes you DO see an IPS in lcd tvs. Just type IPS panel in newegg. You will find countless LG tvs with IPS panels.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
A 24" display without an LED backlight won't cut it dude unless you're comparing it to a 21" iMac. then it would balance out.
Fine, here's one on newegg.

$549.99 no LED Backlight
If it had a LED backlight, that price would jump a couple hundred bro.

@sc0pl355

Exactly Zoul.
I even state up front that emeek did a decent job trying to make the PC mimic the iMac. What if my MOBO supported RAID, SATA 3 and USB 3.0. Does that make mine better by default? . There a features in the custom builds that are not in the iMac. He does not point out the Pros of the custom builds.
adobePC 2 years ago
The point of his video IS NOT to point out the Pros of custom builds dude. He was basically saying that the iMac is well priced, which it is.
Custom builds having this or that, which the iMac doesn't have, doesn't diminish what Emeek's video was about unless it causes the prices of the components in his comparison to suddenly drop drastically.
His vid was NOT about what you could get or what you may/may not need. It was about whether the iMac had a good price for what you get.

@sc0pl355
Also I what is the price difference between an LCD with 1920x1200 display and 1920x1080 display both with backlit leds. That should give you your answer.
zoulkyud 2 years ago
I can give you the price difference without the LED backlight for now
Dell S2409W= TN Panel, 1920 x 1080 $279
UltraSharp U2410= IPS panel, 1920 x 1200 $599
You will NEVER see a 24" IPS display that is 1920 x 1080 or a TN display that is 24" with a resolution of 1920 x 1200.
