@apologiamixer at least in Spain and the middle east Jews could become doctors! In Europe they had no rights,and were routinely burned alive everytime there was a plague or natural disaster. There were many Jewish viziers and poets in Spain, but in Europeans restricted them to only what Catholics were not allowed to do, such as banking.

@slimshadythe2nd Its not a perfect world. When Jews joined Muslims who have historically made life difficult for Christians it stands to reason Christians are going to see them as another enemy or antichrist. Today it is mostly Christians who are in support of Israel, not Muslims.

This title is an anachronism!

In that age the country that actually we connect with the word "Spain" didn't exist yet. It was just a geographical place (IBERIAN PENINSULA) with many rival kingdoms.

Later, the NEW country that appeared from the union between Castile and Aragon, PICK UP its name by a pretentious, conflictual and unjust appropriation (theft) of terminology "Hispania-spain".

It isn't a game of words, but a question of the SEMANTIC meaning of terms in his original context and time!
