@mer521993 because since it is such a thick creamy substance it can trap bacteria inside the piercing like hole...which can do more harm than good...rinse it with sea salt water and let the thing breath, industrial's take a long time to heal naturally but if you think its being particularly hellish just give up and take it out and get it done again later it's not worth the drama...but like i said sea salt plus water, on a cotton swab get the crust off you should be good.
I remember when I got my foot tattooed was in agony my sides and the top of my foot really really hurt was nearly in tears the entire 2 and a half hours for the first session the 2nd session was fine was so happy to get it done

I am already 18 and can make decisions for myself, but I don't want my parents to be angry with me. What do you think I should do?
@Floralleggings my parents really don't 'like' my tattoos. they were pretty opposed to me getting any, but just like you, i'm an adult so i just kind of did it. even though they didn't like it at first, they really don't care at all now, so i say if it's something you really want to do for yourself you should just go ahead and do it! :)

My first tattoo was on my foot, they said I was crazy haha. For me it definitely hurt more towards the outer parts of my foot. I've heard that tattoos on your feet can be more difficult to heal, but mine was fine in two weeks.
i have a slightly random tattoo :L i got a superman logo but with the letter L instead of S on my left wrist, its dark blue at the top and fades down to a kinda of aqua blue at the bottom, but yeah over all its a kind of gay pride tattoo :P

The reason you have to put the cling film on it is to create a "pseudo skin" so it doesnt scab up. Scabbing up is bad, it increases the chances of losing colour because it gets itchy and you scratch, lose scabs and lose ink. Your foot healed up perfectly by the shounds of it. My sister is a tattooist, this has all been DRILLED into my head haha!

i have a octopus heart on my side, it didnt hurt to bad but coral shading that part hurt real bad i was kinda freaking out. but like your foot one, i did take a long hot shower like a week after i got it and it turned all gross, white, peeled like all away. i too flipped out i think its like when u have a scab and go into a hot tub. it gets so gross. i did caranwrap straight for like 4days, it turned out great.

try closing your eyes and relax and breath while getting tattooed. I like to think of the buzzing of the tattoo machine as a lullaby, very soothing, and puts you right to sleep. its kinda twisted to go in with that mindset, but you'll be able to get tattooed anywhere and for long periods of time. I have about 60 hours so far with half of that just on my torso. I also have a chest plate, calf piece, thigh, both feet, plus other little shit like on my skull. And yes no vaseline, just lubriderm
My industrial was taking forever to heal and I was following the aftercare the studio told me to do, I saw ur video, tried that and bam, so much better.
I have two tats. The one on my lower back HURT, when it hit the spine it was just awful, I got it 10 years ago when I was 21. About 5 years ago I got a gorgeous half nude angel on my left forearm (says my nickname Vixen beneath it) that didn't bother me at all, the pain wasn't bad or anything. I want more tats. :)

@Unlovalbe72 I think if you really want a piercing bad enough, you won't give a shit about the pain, haha. I got my lip pierced about a month ago now, and I knew it was going to hurt, but I really didn't care. Because when you think about it, it's only going to be a second and then it's done.
@Unlovalbe72 Well for the lip piercing I would say it hurt about a 5-6 out of 10 when it was going through, but that was a VERY quick process. As for the industrial bar, I've heard it hurts alot, because when you think of how thick it is, it's like piercing through a rock, haha.But once again, it's worth the pain. For the parents part of it, I had to convince my mom for over a year, then she finally let me have it done once she realized how much I wanted it.
@Unlovalbe72 snake bites don't hurt to get done, the only issue with mouth piercings is they swell a lot and it makes it difficult to eat. With snake puts i suggest starting with bars and then switching to hoops. But you'll be fine. Its not bad. I have 14 piercings all together not including my ears, and each one felt like a little pinch. go for it with the snake bites, their awesome :)
The one on my foot hurt so, so badly. I have a tattoo on my back as well, and it felt like she was giving me a back massage in comparison to the pain on my foot lol
Hey Bunny! Ok, the tatto that I wanted was also on my foot :P I've always wanted a tatto on my foot, but it would be really small. The tatto that I have wanted for a while is on my right foot and um like feel where your right ankle bone is then move a bit to the left and go down a bit and it would be right there. I don't have any tattoos but I love them, I've studied the process & the history for many an art project & basically love everything about it. I've got a few friends who are training to be tattooists or have worked in tattoo shops, they've all said that your wrist is one of the least painful places to get done & your foot is one of the most painful. The foot heals weird because it's a different type of skin & it gets agitated from wearing shoes etc. Just a small nugget of information there :]
try aquaphor it will heal faster and wont itch as much!! awesome stuff bunny. i have my foot tattooed to it was deff no fun lol but wasn't horrible either i cant wait to get my other foot done it's sad with no beautiful art on it!
yeah my foot tattoo is one of the wost ever but my wrist tattoos didnt hurt in less it got closer to the palm of my hand but yeah i have one foot tattoo and i dont want another on my other foot lol... also the wrap my tattoo artist wraps it then i take it off about 30 min to a hour after and just let it heal with whatever i am using to keep it moist..
I got one on the underside of my wrist a year ago. It's the outline of a stylized sparrow, just blank ink. It healed like your wrist did, with the scabs and etc. When people asked/ask me how it felt, I describe it like a continuous cat scratch, haha.
My tattoos didn't feel like that at all it felt as if someone was holding a lighter to my skin but mind you I really don't feel that much pain I have two kids and labor was a breeze but the one on my foot I felt a bit I know this guy that has all of his body tatted even his head, face, butt lol EVERYTHING except his feet he started getting one foot done and he had to stop because that one hurt so bad so I'm guessing the foot is the worst lol
soo i have my ribs done.. mind you i'm 5'4" and weigh 103 pounds lol. first tattoo ever. only cried once. i was so proud of myself. but anyway, mine does this weird thing where if i get too hot or after i work out it'll sort of be inflamed? like the letters will be raised. idk its really weird and the first time it happened i thought i was dying lmfao but i called my artist and he said it was normal since i'm little and all that. idk strange things happen to me haha

After my four hour foot tattoo (peacock feather), I was pretty bitched out. I couldn't walk either. It wasn't crying painful, but it wasn't a walk in the park!
The little pimple things you mentioned may have been a minor hair follicle infection, because you clogged your pores with the vaseline. i had this happen with one of the tats on my ribs and my artist recommended that once the tattoo was done oozing, I should switch to Aveno colorless, scentless lotion instead of a cream as thick as vaseline or A&D ointment because that is what was clogging my pores. I've done this with every tattoo since and had great results :)

I've heard so many people say getting a wrist tattoo hurts so bad. Which baffles me because I have 16 tattoos now and the one around my wrist hurt the least out of any of them lol

@MatryoshkaDollBeauty well, someone actually drew a portrait of al swearengen very similar and i found it on google :P BUT the tattoo artist designed the frames and he drew the knives by looking at the picture of the prop from the show. he also made some color changes for me, like we changed the background from red to purple (my favorite color) and the chair from green to teal!!

I have many tattoos. The one that hurt the worst was of my geisha. It was only because her hair had lil itty bitty lines throughout it. If the artist had let me lay down i could of handled it better i think. The next one i want is a phoenix with my stepdad name incoporated in it. Maybe like in flames around the tail. He was really into hunting and fishing but he had cancer and it opened my eyes to a whole new look on ppl and life in general. So phoenix means rebirth i think so thats y. lol

Yeeeah.. I wouldn't recommend getting a foot tattoo. Yours looks GREAT. Normally, I don't like portrait tattoos, but that looks AWESOME. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it, though, is because it's at risk for serious fading. Have you experienced any of that yet?
I want tattoos so badly. I'm just picky about artists, lol. I have done so much research about tattoo artists, but.. Eh, I'm just picky. I'll get them eventually. lol
@BalmaholicTV nope no fading for me yet, but anytime i'm outside in the sun i ALWAYS put sunscreen on it (baby sunblock is supposed to be the best for them) so hopefully mine won't fade!!
My first tattoo actually went pretty well it was on my ankle, basically about 10 mins into it my whole leg went numb and all I could feel is the buzzing of the need except for when she got to the tips on the wings and the devil tail then it hurt but I think the amount of pain is based off your pain tolerance and on your actual artist because my 2nd tattoo which is on my back right shoulder which is kind of meaty hurt like hell and had the while burning feeling as well.

Im thinking about getting a tattoo, but it would be on the top of my foot and you said that really hurt. do you think it would hurt less just getting words done in a thin cursive-ish font as opposed to something that was big and required shading?
@Laurenita124 i def think it would hurt way less if you are just getting words or something, because that doesn't take long at all... the longer it takes to do the tattoo the worse it hurts because as your foot swells it hurts more... hope that makes sense... i feel like i worded it kind of weird?? :P
i have a colored dragon fly on my foot, and the sameee thing happened to me with the skin like peeling, i was almost afraid to let it come off, thinking i was going to mess the tattoo itself up, almost like i'd be scratching the tattoo off. it was definitely weird. i recall getting a few little of those pimple things too..but i just kept it clean & used A&D ointment and it was fine..swelling took about a week to go down as well.

The tatto that I have wanted for a while is on my right foot and um like feel where your right ankle bone is then move a bit to the left and go down a bit and it would be right there. And the actual tatto would be a small Gemini sighn. What do you think? :)

I don't have any tattoos but I love them, I've studied the process & the history for many an art project & basically love everything about it. I've got a few friends who are training to be tattooists or have worked in tattoo shops, they've all said that your wrist is one of the least painful places to get done & your foot is one of the most painful. The foot heals weird because it's a different type of skin & it gets agitated from wearing shoes etc. Just a small nugget of information there :]

try aquaphor it will heal faster and wont itch as much!! awesome stuff bunny. i have my foot tattooed to it was deff no fun lol but wasn't horrible either i cant wait to get my other foot done it's sad with no beautiful art on it!

yeah my foot tattoo is one of the wost ever but my wrist tattoos didnt hurt in less it got closer to the palm of my hand but yeah i have one foot tattoo and i dont want another on my other foot lol... also the wrap my tattoo artist wraps it then i take it off about 30 min to a hour after and just let it heal with whatever i am using to keep it moist..

I got one on the underside of my wrist a year ago. It's the outline of a stylized sparrow, just blank ink. It healed like your wrist did, with the scabs and etc. When people asked/ask me how it felt, I describe it like a continuous cat scratch, haha.

My tattoos didn't feel like that at all it felt as if someone was holding a lighter to my skin but mind you I really don't feel that much pain I have two kids and labor was a breeze but the one on my foot I felt a bit I know this guy that has all of his body tatted even his head, face, butt lol EVERYTHING except his feet he started getting one foot done and he had to stop because that one hurt so bad so I'm guessing the foot is the worst lol

soo i have my ribs done.. mind you i'm 5'4" and weigh 103 pounds lol. first tattoo ever. only cried once. i was so proud of myself. but anyway, mine does this weird thing where if i get too hot or after i work out it'll sort of be inflamed? like the letters will be raised. idk its really weird and the first time it happened i thought i was dying lmfao but i called my artist and he said it was normal since i'm little and all that. idk strange things happen to me haha

The little pimple things you mentioned may have been a minor hair follicle infection, because you clogged your pores with the vaseline. i had this happen with one of the tats on my ribs and my artist recommended that once the tattoo was done oozing, I should switch to Aveno colorless, scentless lotion instead of a cream as thick as vaseline or A&D ointment because that is what was clogging my pores. I've done this with every tattoo since and had great results :)

@MatryoshkaDollBeauty well, someone actually drew a portrait of al swearengen very similar and i found it on google :P BUT the tattoo artist designed the frames and he drew the knives by looking at the picture of the prop from the show. he also made some color changes for me, like we changed the background from red to purple (my favorite color) and the chair from green to teal!!

I have many tattoos. The one that hurt the worst was of my geisha. It was only because her hair had lil itty bitty lines throughout it. If the artist had let me lay down i could of handled it better i think. The next one i want is a phoenix with my stepdad name incoporated in it. Maybe like in flames around the tail. He was really into hunting and fishing but he had cancer and it opened my eyes to a whole new look on ppl and life in general. So phoenix means rebirth i think so thats y. lol

apparently youre not supposed to use vaseline on a tattoo because it draws the ink out. you should have used Aquaphor. that stuff is great :)

Yeeeah.. I wouldn't recommend getting a foot tattoo. Yours looks GREAT. Normally, I don't like portrait tattoos, but that looks AWESOME. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it, though, is because it's at risk for serious fading. Have you experienced any of that yet?
I want tattoos so badly. I'm just picky about artists, lol. I have done so much research about tattoo artists, but.. Eh, I'm just picky. I'll get them eventually. lol

My first tattoo actually went pretty well it was on my ankle, basically about 10 mins into it my whole leg went numb and all I could feel is the buzzing of the need except for when she got to the tips on the wings and the devil tail then it hurt but I think the amount of pain is based off your pain tolerance and on your actual artist because my 2nd tattoo which is on my back right shoulder which is kind of meaty hurt like hell and had the while burning feeling as well.

i have a colored dragon fly on my foot, and the sameee thing happened to me with the skin like peeling, i was almost afraid to let it come off, thinking i was going to mess the tattoo itself up, almost like i'd be scratching the tattoo off. it was definitely weird. i recall getting a few little of those pimple things too..but i just kept it clean & used A&D ointment and it was fine..swelling took about a week to go down as well.
