i like this game, it adds a flow game on the iPhone. By making software for App Store, you would have to pay for the SDK, and the SDK is only for Macs. How would you know that the source code would work for Macs, or how would you guys know this company would understand the code. You cannot just paste random code into the SDK, you must have to make it Mac compatible and Cocoa readable, that is really complex and it uses more User Interactions instead of typing up code all day long. kinda rip tho.

But still, stealing ideas off other people without crediting them is plain wrong. But if you guys want an alternative to this game, try Spore! The only slight bother is that it seems some people think flOw is a 100% original idea and that the source code was stolen. Secondly, Comparing flow to snake is like comparing Call of Duty to Halo or any fps games. The only similarity between, Snake and Flow is that you have to eat.
In case of this game; it is not only source code, the concept, the graphics, the sound are blatantly ripoff.
First of all; flOw was open source. KS could have got it directly or indirectly.
Second, You must have never heard of a ported game. When a game is ported, the sources for the game for that system are changed up to run on the other system. For example , the PSP's Pipe Mania was ported to the iPod touch and iPhone.
Happy the game was removed because this is a total rip off. Seriously if I was making a game and knew it was going to look like another, I would have at least changed the gameplay.

Fan remakes are usually simple mods on another game. Older games being remade, aren't usually done by fans, but big companies, who bought the rights (or have always owned said rights) to do so
This, however... I had to double check if I wasn't just looking at a flOw vid. This is just copying someone else's ideas, gameplay, but most importantly the entire art style. And then asking money for it. It's borderline thievery. They don't even bother mentioning their "inspiration" and call it their own
Well I've played the game and here are a few thoughts:
1. flOw is prettier, though that's to be expected, Sony money makes pretty games prettier :P
2. Gameplay is pretty much the same, though I prefer flOw because of the greater degree of control afforded by the PS3 controller, though both are fun.
3. You guys should have mentioned flOw from the beginning , you might have avoided some of the backlash and the fanboys (though most of the people here are just pissed and not fanboys, some are).

If this was made with flOw's source code, then that would suggest flOw is an open source game, meaning it would be free to distribute.

Secondly, Comparing flow to snake is like comparing Call of Duty to Halo or any fps games. The only similarity between, Snake and Flow is that you have to eat.

First of all; flOw was open source. KS could have got it directly or indirectly.
Second, You must have never heard of a ported game. When a game is ported, the sources for the game for that system are changed up to run on the other system. For example , the PSP's Pipe Mania was ported to the iPod touch and iPhone.

Fan remakes are usually simple mods on another game. Older games being remade, aren't usually done by fans, but big companies, who bought the rights (or have always owned said rights) to do so
This, however... I had to double check if I wasn't just looking at a flOw vid. This is just copying someone else's ideas, gameplay, but most importantly the entire art style. And then asking money for it. It's borderline thievery. They don't even bother mentioning their "inspiration" and call it their own

Well I've played the game and here are a few thoughts:
1. flOw is prettier, though that's to be expected, Sony money makes pretty games prettier :P
2. Gameplay is pretty much the same, though I prefer flOw because of the greater degree of control afforded by the PS3 controller, though both are fun.
3. You guys should have mentioned flOw from the beginning , you might have avoided some of the backlash and the fanboys (though most of the people here are just pissed and not fanboys, some are).

"Ripoff's" are legal in some respects, considering all the "Doom Clones" from back in the day, but none of those resembled Doom NEARLY so much as Aquatica does flOw. Whether the source code for Aquatica WAS stolen from the creator of FlOw, the graphics and gameplay being precisely the same is well enough for a decent court case, particularly if money is to be made off of the 'ripoff,' which is the case here (following the free promotional period). WOW! REALLY not a smart move... U_U
