If the real Melvin Purvis was like the way Ben Johnson is playing him, he would have never gotten as far as he did in the FBI, Hoover would have kicked him out long before the real Melvin Purvis was kicked out. Ben Johnson would have never worked for a guy that wore a dress.
Hoover was a racist P.O.S cops were all crooked back then and Dillinger was not bad like this B.S movie is making him out to be only people that were killed by him or his crew were cops in the line of duty. They robbed banks not people besides someone should of the way the banks were back then. And Hoover is a racist he can kiss my white ass what he say "we cant make this marijuana legal bc white women when on it sleep with black jazz players "
@steve89z Nothing wrong with the bankers. Its the people that are not keeping their end of the bargain. Make you fuckin payments. If you dont like the terms of the loan, dont borrow the money
this movie makes purvis out too much of a hero. He was a little runt who was scared to death of Dillinger. He was there the night Dillinger was shot.He was so scared he couldnt light his cigar. He was not the one who killed Dillinger
he wasn't a coward, just a huge idiot. but yea, but he's shown here was way to much of a badass. also, before dillenger was killed, sam cowley was his boss
I agree with you and most of what YoMightBe has said about this movie so far. Actually, I've read that Purvis had "little man" syndrome/complex. He wasn't a coward, but I'd bet money, he sure didn't act like Ben Johnson is portraying him here. LOL "Public Enemies" still remains my favorite thus far....... plus the song "One Million Slaves" by Otis Taylor is still givin' me goosebumps. :P
in this scene thats where the fed's got there nick name g-men but it actually happpend in real life

@steve89z Not the bankers. They did nothing wrong. The loan officers for giving loans to people that couldnt afford pay it back.
