The Electric Steering in these Toyota cars is extremely bad. The new Corolla with electric power steering has dangerously bad road handling issues. I cannot stress in words how badly these cars handle on the road. Toyota's spokesmen lie about the problem and they are ignoring this problem because there is no fix for it. The problem is the steering system itself. Toyota cannot afford to do what is right and that is to repurchase these awful cars from customers who bought them in good faith.

It's official. Sorry ass Toyota announced that it will recall 270,000 of its sorry ass Toyota and Lexus cars for faulty engine valve springs. Ouch! If you are a Lexus LS, GS or ES owner, that means you have to drop it off for several days if not weeks. They have to break the seal of head gaskets, take the entire top half of the engine, install faulty springs, machinetool the head and reinstall top half of the engine. That's a major process. Good luck, Lexus owners. You've been screwed again.

Toyota vehicles beat the holy crap out of American cars. Also, while death is a tragedy, there are things you can do if your engine starts racing out of control. You can shut off the vehicle. You can shift into neutral. While the whole situation is just kind of sad, Toyota will probably make even BETTER vehicles after this, which will be pretty awesome.
You can't just shut off the engine in the new cars. Most of them don't have key inserts, and you have to read the manual to understand how to operate the override. No one reads the manual

At work we have a Toyota Prius when we need to make a short business trip and I must say it is the strangest, unsafe car I have ever driven before. It takes too long to get underway because of its strange start up procedures, drives strangely with weird ergonomics and a narrow track unsuitable for American roadways. The American cars I have owned over the years are far superior and probably would be more economical all things considered. I see no intelligent reason for buying a foreign car.

I highly doubt Toyota cars sold in the US are engineered in Japan entirely. Heck, the new Fusion and Malibu have significant design and engineering from Europe and most of their top notch engineering are done by Asians.

It's official. Sorry ass Toyota announced that it will recall 270,000 of its sorry ass Toyota and Lexus cars for faulty engine valve springs. Ouch! If you are a Lexus LS, GS or ES owner, that means you have to drop it off for several days if not weeks. They have to break the seal of head gaskets, take the entire top half of the engine, install faulty springs, machinetool the head and reinstall top half of the engine. That's a major process. Good luck, Lexus owners. You've been screwed again.

Gas pedals tend to become sticky on many cars with age, there's nothing new about it. The real issue comes from Americans not being able to steer/drive/stop their own vehicle. Provided they're decently maintained, breaks are engineered to stop a vehicle even with the gas pedal stuck to the floor. Don't listen to the journalists, If you can't control a vehicle whose gas pedal is affected by a minor glitch, then you have no business driving.

READ THIS: toyota absolutely sucks, i mean i am so disgusted that they are failing to brake in the 21st century!! I just heard on the news that four people were on the highway in their Toyota when the car went out of control, accelerating to 120 mph and the brakes failing. They made a 911 call, and as they approached the intersection, you could hear their screams of terror. All four DIED in the accident that followed. For this, i will never forgive Toyota, no "apology" can save lost lives!!!!

That's now the correct way to stop a speeding toyota. The correct method is a seperate youtube video. You do have to go into neutral, but the problem is most drivers have never put their car in neutral before.
When there is a car directly in front of you and you are going 90, sometimes you might freeze up and forget all of the technical methods that must be employed. Some involve reading your owners manual

At work we have a Toyota Prius when we need to make a short business trip and I must say it is the strangest, unsafe car I have ever driven before. It takes too long to get underway because of its strange start up procedures, drives strangely with weird ergonomics and a narrow track unsuitable for American roadways. The American cars I have owned over the years are far superior and probably would be more economical all things considered. I see no intelligent reason for buying a foreign car.

First of all I don't know why they call japanese cars in america a foreign car when most of the parts made in japanese cars are almost all made by americans than it is on american cars. Alot of american cars are made from mexico and all those other developing countries.

@mehiael that is true. Alot of japanese cars in america are built by american hands, but I'm not sure if americans are also involved with engineering toyotas.

Yes indeed Americans were responsible for making Toyota cars sold in the US. Most of the newer Toyota vehicles sold in the US were designed at Calty in California and engineered at Ann Arbor in Michigan. Even the FJ Cruiser, which is assembled in Japan, was designed and engineered in the US.

The recent research by Gallup says as follows,
"Sixty percent of Americans believe Toyota's vehicles are safe, and 61% say they have not lost confidence in the automaker despite the safety issues that have resulted in large-scale recalls of Toyota vehicles.
Current Toyota owners are even more positive about the company's cars -- 74% say they have not lost confidence in Toyota vehicles and 82% think they are safe to ride in."
