They left Nintendo for the PlayStation because PlayStation had discs, which supported more space than Nintendo's cartridges and cost less to make, therefore making it more appealing for epic and long RPGs. That's why the old Final Fantasies are on NES and SNES and the newer ones since 7 have been on the PlayStations.
@nintendoprofessor94 If you have ever played Chrono Trigger, and if you have gotten even marginally far in Chrono Cross, you would know that it IS a sequel. You even meet the main characters of CT......well, what remnants remain of them, lost in time.
@LordMareus I like Chrono Cross, but Trigger was by far the better game. That being said, I think the pint a lot of people miss when they say the Cross isn't a sequal is that is IS a sequal, but only to the worst ending of Trigger that you can get where Lavos DOESN'T blow up the world.

I believe it's an Irish-inspired song that keeps its listeners' emotions progressively heightened throughout the course of the song. Chrono Cross is also Playstation 1's must-play RPG, and is one of Squaresoft's first pride in game development.
Although I found the game to be kind of a case of developers nihilistically urinating in the faces of fans (a business model they would later use as their primary approach) due to nearly unintelligable, superfluous story arcs, it was definitely a memorable game that I had fun with when I was still trying to get through it, and it still has quite possibly the best game soundtrack of all time.
@Dant2142 because it was originally on playstation if they made a game that was on xbox first and they put it on ps3 they would be mad.... the way i see it all original games that were made on playstaton should stay on playstation same with xbox
@cloud1756 So just release them at the same time, it's not like the games couldn't be programmed for slightly different setting to best suit the individual console's strengths and weaknesses. IMHO in an ideal world most every game would get a release on all platforms (including the PC) changing graphical settings for each console isn't a big deal.

The problem is that the technology underneath the game code (engine) must be completely re-written for that specific platform. OpenGL, DirectX or even special proprietary graphic pipeline. That is a HUGE amount of work. And some platform won't even take the same graphical resolution or format, meaning : re-doing all the art at a new resolution. It's a lot of work if it wasn't well planned ahead.
I'm pretty sure they said they would make it if everyone who worked on the first two came into the project. Fans want a true sequel, not the Chrono Cross spinoff sequel type. I love Chrono Cross though, it just isn't a sequel without Crono.

FFVII Changed the face of video gaming to this day, inexorably altering it from what was mostly a stark division between storytelling and the game itself and molding it to where cutscenes, lighting, camera angles, and editing played a much larger part in the storytelling of the game itself.
It was also the first video game advertised like a movie, instead of like a toy commercial.

Combine Phoenix summon Materia with Final Attack Materia.
Whenever that character dies, they and any other dead teammates will be brought back to life, a cheap tactic that allows you to essentially never lose. This means that, as long as you have these 2 Materia, you could be level one and still beat Ruby Weapon because the Phoenix does a decent amount of damage as well, although the fight will take hours.
Syndrome that your opinion but as far as final fantasy goes 7 is the best FF, then I love 8, and 10 was the last good game in my opinion...But Chrono Cross....that game has a soundtrack that can touch anyone's heart...

Chrono Cross brings up more nostalgia for me than any other game. Looking at the comments here, I see I'm not alone. Maybe it's that amazing, wistful music.
Cause Square Enix is a bunch of lazy pricks. It'd be harder to put on Ps3 or 360 cause then they have to update the graphics, but on a DS, it's ok. =/ I want my damn FF7, lol.
Face it. After Enix made DoC and Advent Children they kind of destroyed all the character's personalities and images. It's not like it's worse than the original FFVII, but it's different than the original FFVII..

I loved playing this game. I like the fact that u can alter the way the story goesand the fact the u get to fight Chrono Trigger-istic villians in the game. I also liked the fact that u get to be the villians for a part of the game.

I think they've planned another chrono cross, it's entitled chrono break. but it seems like it has been canceled because they couldn't unite again those who teamed up in making the chrono cross...
They registered the name in NA, but dropped it after a few years when it didn't seem to be going anywhere. However, apparently they registered it again recently, and with CT being redone for the DS there's still hope =)
This is sucha beautiful game, brought alot of memory back, even though it's game, it seem like a true adventure, it really suck you into the game. Left alot of memory. I enjoy every bit of it, when it happy or sad. Chrono Cross was kind of confusing in the serious but was still great. Definitely a deep meaning in these games though. Never let fate have control over you, everyone has the ability to control one's own fate.

Chrono Cross brings up more nostalgia for me than any other game. Looking at the comments here, I see I'm not alone. Maybe it's that amazing, wistful music.

Cause Square Enix is a bunch of lazy pricks. It'd be harder to put on Ps3 or 360 cause then they have to update the graphics, but on a DS, it's ok. =/ I want my damn FF7, lol.

Face it. After Enix made DoC and Advent Children they kind of destroyed all the character's personalities and images. It's not like it's worse than the original FFVII, but it's different than the original FFVII..

@redcrus why in the ds? on 3ds would be better, and I guess tha's because square developed CT on snes first and CC on psx, however, I think if they'were going to make a third one itshould be on both host consoles IMO =)

@redcrus even though i don't like Chrono Cross that much(because i haven't play no more than first 10mins) if it was being remade or ported it should be the PS3 because thats the PS1's successor or the Xbox360 its a good console Wii or DS hell no after how lame of a port Chrono Trigger was they won't fuck up Cross that way either.

@redcrus well now with the 3ds i believe the possibility is alot wider, it still probably will only happen on psn and maybe xbla but it would be cool on the 3ds as well

I loved playing this game. I like the fact that u can alter the way the story goesand the fact the u get to fight Chrono Trigger-istic villians in the game. I also liked the fact that u get to be the villians for a part of the game.

this game brings back so many memories,i love this game and crono trigger!(although i have no clue how they are related)it was a very deep sad game and had a lot of meaning that and its grafics were way ahead of its time,one of the greatest games of all time!

I think they've planned another chrono cross, it's entitled chrono break. but it seems like it has been canceled because they couldn't unite again those who teamed up in making the chrono cross...

They registered the name in NA, but dropped it after a few years when it didn't seem to be going anywhere. However, apparently they registered it again recently, and with CT being redone for the DS there's still hope =)

This is sucha beautiful game, brought alot of memory back, even though it's game, it seem like a true adventure, it really suck you into the game. Left alot of memory. I enjoy every bit of it, when it happy or sad. The game have sucah deep meaning, all the background music is beautiful the villages and the game in general bring lieka peaceful feeling to you...lol i tlaked to much but thanks for posting this

Chrono Cross was kind of confusing in the serious but was still great. Definitely a deep meaning in these games though. Never let fate have control over you, everyone has the ability to control one's own fate.

God damn man. This is making me tear up a bit. I SO hope the rumors I heard about a remake of trigger and a new Chrono game are true. If so, they better make the games as good as Trigger ans Cross.
