I love this ship but I found it was too short so I ended up buying 2 and "stacked" them, did a little bit of work on it and its much beefer now. A great set as is but if you like making custom ships pick up 2. I plan on getting a 3rd and adding 70 cannons to this badboy. :)

@MathaizMom You could with most of it. some of it you wouldn't want to do that but definately the bottom base you could. You'd have to find a glue that didn't eat into plastic.

If you want something for a Pirates of The Caribbean fan then Queen Anne's revenge is the way to go, but this(even though more expensive) is way more worth it, you get your money's worth whilst QAR should be 105 at the most.

So in a figurative way, we DON'T grow up whatever we want it or not. If you want to "feel" the magic happening again, you just gotta go out there, get some bricks, and start building again. ;) But if you're realling refering to that special feeling,I guess you are right, part of the magic is lost since you get to know what money is worth..

There ARE problems with it. It needs 4 more cannons with shells, it has no crow's nest, it doesn't have even remotely enough soldiers to crew it, and it has no rear sail to match the one in the bow (front of the ship). Me, I think it'd be nice if the captain at least had a bed. Otherwise, I think this is a really cool lego set; it's the first I bought since I was a teenager.

@legomastr1 it can but it might tip over in the water because of the weight not beeing in center but there are special lego weights made for smell boat sets that centers the balance so it floats up right

@legomastr1 No it wont float initially due to the fact that water will leak through the bottom, however with modifications is would be easy to get it to. However Im not sure where the waterline would sit due to the weight, and Im sure that the water would flood through the gun ports or snot technique at the front if was low enough in the water. To remedy that you could block the entire underneath with baseplates. I do own the set but, i bought it to show, so i cant answer your question directly.
