  • My horse has done this so many times! XD But nice job handling it!

  • what i like is that when he canters away, you go with it and dont freak out. LOVE the song

  • How THE FUCK IS THAT A BOLT try going 30mph for 25seconds blacking out and nearly breaking ur neck thats bolting PUSSY HOLE!!!

  • @Heckyhoo Somebody has some anger issues...

  • @Heckyhoo Heckyhoo techniccally its still a bolt, coz the horse swung to the side and ran off?I bet your just some person whos jelous or something...

  • u should turn his head away from the corner and use ur left leg my pony freaks at corners but this always works hope i helped

  • wow um.... thats not really spooking thats called (running back to the other horses because i dont like to ride alone)!

  • ...

  • DON'T LOOK AT THE 'OFFENDING' OBJECT!!! it just makes it worse and shows you are scared too,

  • @Lottshorse Yeah but it's good to let him know what it is so he doesn't spook again. It's also good to just continue to work him past it.

  • The other horse was just like, hm...whats he looking at hehe xxx

  • if he does that again if you can try and leg yeild him into the corner and go around the corner with his head pointing in the our direction

  • bolting? come and see my horse she bolts. thats not bolting trust me.

  • naw - i rode a pony who had a similar problem xD He was sure there was something ready to eat him, he kept bolting or wouldn't go near the corner - and gave a mini buck at one point. I ended up just standing him to face the corner for a minute or so and he chilled down a bit :') Well ridden!!

  • thay wasnt a bolt

  • one tip to help it is that when you go up to the corner and things he is afraid of, you can jiggle the inside rein so that he takes his attention off the thing he is scared of and you can usually see it in their ears of what they are going to spook at. just some stuff that i learned from my horse that is afraid of everything!

  • thats not spooking.. thats just taking the piss.

  • @bethansmith96 Ha indeed, and as a horse i would do the same with a rein pulling rider like that who hits me after one misstep

  • nappy lil git

  • i used to ride at darrington and duncan did the same thing to me but went all the way to the other end of the arena like byu the gate :/ xx

  • @moodymare97 He was a bit of a bugger for it wasn't he haha! x

  • I am going to make a "thrills and spills of equestrian" so can I use this? I will give full credit!

  • @3000horsecrazy Yeah sure you can - could you tell me when it's done so I can watch it.

  • Horse: ;O Oops! That corner is scary! ;)

  • Not really a very good riding school pony if it nappys like that! but well ridden.. :)

  • hey can i use this video for a mishaps video full credit will be given and ill give you a link when its done ? :)

  • @poniesr4evaandeva Hey :D Sure you can!

  • thats not really bolting... bolting is a complete out of control gallop that if you manage to stop you are on hell of a good rider :L doesnt generally happen on riding school ponies or they wouldnt be a riding school pony :L

  • @stephanielauren2011 riding school ponies are just like any other horse they have there good and bad days. Just because they are riding school horses dose't make them bombproof .....

  • uh oh, guess those stupid arena gremlins are back!

  • thats what my horse does... I HATE IT WHEN THEY DO THAT ITS SOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • hehe ive seen a few videos of horses that dont like corners mine are fine with them;D

  • well sat

    xx

  • Is he young? It may be he has an issue with corners cause he doesn't like tight spaces?

  • patch a horse i rode yesterday bolted with me yesterday 3 times and i lost my stirrups i was only trying to get canter because hes young well done for not falling :)

  • reminds me of yesterday lol xx

  • @craftmaster274 yeahh he did, at 00:34 haha

  • he hates corner doesn't he ... :P

  • he didnt bolt

  • hahahha i love how horses act like theyre on shrooms and the boogy mans in the corner... great riding!

  • There isn't one bolt in this video?

  • That is exactly what my horse does!! x

  • Didn't see bolting here. Sorry.

  • I have a question. Your horse acts a lot like my Saddlebred does. Have you found anything to help him with trouble spots? Thanks!

  • @imachamp182 Ooo pick me pick me! I might have the answer! =D Some of my instructors say, just ride a circle and pass by the object of fear until he doesn't react that way, and others say continue your business as if it never happened and don't make a big deal out of it. I feel like that would work more as well. But does (s)he do that every ride or occasionally? Try hand-walking him/her past the trouble spots and even use that for some training from the ground before you get on. =)

  • is this riding school darrington? x

  • @TanishaAndMax Yeah it is!! lol :D

  • @cloexcloe fort soo haa x

  • Didnt you know that corners, wind, hedges, ect eat horses?

  • @spiritofthathorse Yeah, they're all little known arch enemies of the horse arn't they...

  • @cloexcloe haha and dont we all know it! :)

  • @cloexcloe but flying plastic bags are the number 1 predetor of horses

  • @spiritofthathorse yes, isn't it terrible? Wheelbarrows, hosepipes and pheasants where I live are awful for jumping out and screaming at my horse :P

  • @99FeeBee99

well they keep you on your toes dont they! :)

  • @spiritofthathorse yes. yes they do. :)

  • @spiritofthathorse No, no, no. Horse eating dragongs hide in corners, hedges, and disguise them selves as the wind. Duh.

  • hi, i'm doing a Youtube's Horse Falls and Mishaps 2011 video and i was wondering whether i could use this in the video? you will get full credit and also you will be mentioned in one of my video descriptions :) xx

  • @xLovehorsesx Yeah sure thats fine :)

Would you please tell me when its finished so i can watch it please? xx

  • i wouldnt say that those little 2 stride csanters were bolts...

  • @XxLottienZarriaxX taken from the Cambridge Dictionairies Online:

"bolt verb ( MOVE QUICKLY )

Definition [I] to move very fast, especially as a result of being frightened

Frightened by the car horn, the horse bolted."

In the video the horse moves quickly and therefore qualifies for the description of bolted.

  • @XxLottienZarriaxX I agree he didnt really take off litte 2 stride canter is not what i consider "taking off" Sorry to the person who made this video but you know its true

  • My horse has an issue with one corner in our arena, even though she passes it nearly everyday of her life, and has never been eaten by anything whilst passing, its still extra scary. Most of the other horses are scared of it too..

  • @rushmo23 None taken, haha!

In fact I just looked back at the video, I haven't watched it since I put it up over a year ago, and was like o_0 Oh dear.

  • This is EXACTLY what my pony does! She's only been doing this since we moved her to a new stables though. She does it in the same corner as this video too! But when she bolts she goes faster than the one in the video, it's actually very frightening... :/

I don't know how i can stop her doing this when ever i get to that corner?

    <3

  • well done keep trying

  • love the way the instuctor wasnt paying any atention x :) well done for staying on :):P:D

  • Well seated!

  • haha mhorse did that to blue barrols too... i got off and walked her to them... let her sniff them... and then touched them to show her they wont eat her... hen got back on walke to it and she was fine hahaha shes only 4 though

  • All horses react different to scary situations. Some horses need to be shown the scary thing on foot, some just need to be told to get over it and get in there. I think this horse was a little confused from the riders aides. I would be taking horse as close to it as it could get, one tap with the legs and if he doesn't go forward straight away then tap with legs and crop behind your leg at the same time. Looking like she was working thru it well just seeming a little slow with the aides =)

  • horse- i'm not going past there

rider- why arnt u going cumon

horse- i told you im not going past there

rider- oh come on there is nothing to be scared of

    horse- NO!!!!

    rider- YES!!!!

    horse- fine....NOT!

rider- whoah wot was tat for!

horse- ooooh this works i dont have to go passed there....hasn't she go the message yet :P

    rider- *sigh*

  • when they changed our areana around, each time no matter how many times the horses had a lesson we spent 10mins at the beginning of every lessons showing the horse the place, and that it wasnt anything to be scared of!

  • My horse does the same thing

  • think he was more being nappy thru most of that, but well done for stay on when he did that dodge!

  • @nutter666f Yeah he probably was.

He has only just come to the riding school so it might just have something to do with that...

  • @cloexcloe awww blesss

  • @cloexcloe ok first of all: if a horse is scared of something don't force them to go near it! and definitely do not trot them up to it!

  • @horseracergirl I understand what you are saying and in those circumstances I wouldn't do what I did, but he went in that school everyday and nothing had changed that day. This was toward the end of the lesson and had walked, trotted and cantered past/through that area many a time. He used to do it everywhere in the school at random times, so he was not scared of anything.

  • @horseracergirl Actually the best thing to do for a horse if they are scared of something is to get them to go up to them. Let them know its not scary. What she did was right. The horse might be trying to take advantage of you and try to get you off. Another thing u could do is get off, lead the horse to the "scary thing" and let him know your not afraid. Or if the horse is still spooking start getting mad and getting after him. My horse did the same thing. Haha

  • @horseracergirl In some cases that is true, but most of the time it is actually good to desensitize them by going through it calmly and normally.

  • @horseracergirl "Oh no! My horse is spooking! I should turn away rather than let them deal with what they are scared of" <--- that attitude made my pony a bolter o.O

  • @horseracergirl Oh dear. Horses are afraid of everything of at first! You just gradually show them how that it the big scary object won't hurt them.

The rider is slowly but surely urging the horse closer. If we didn't introduce them to "scary" stuff then we won't even be riding.

  • @horseracergirl Actually you are wrong there. If a horse is scared of something you WANT to force them to it, let them look, sniff, touch. Its so they don't Repeatedly scare at the object even in different areas.
