  • ouch! She somehow managed to roll away just in time and the horse only got her leg. It's nice that after the horse bolted for a couple of seconds, he came back. It's always nice to see a loyal horse. And thank god for her inflaty-jacket thing. It would have been so much worse if she had a normal protector. D:

  • There's a wee wire that clips on to the front of the saddle and when you fall it blows it up the clip releases and it takes a few seconds to inflate

  • that was good it was no noes fault these things happen and she didnt go screaming or anything i have seen older people like her scream and hit their horse even when they are hurt bc they think it was the horses fault

  • well, bridled, I should bow to your superior opinion perhaps.. After 20 years of riding and working in eventing, as well as starting my own and others horses under saddle, I'm pretty happy with my view that the nature of even just one fall is pretty bloody important in jumping. It's a hard-earned perspective. Most of us have learned some valuable lessons from analysing our jump styles (and falls) on video. But - good luck to you and your opinions, all the best.

  • @funwithknives00 My superior opinion? You're the one claiming the world No.1 should give up. I'm not denying that at all, I've never said that - you said that because of the nature of the falls she should 'give up', and I'm disagreeing with that statement. Obviously I understand that the nature is important, but I don't feel the nature of the falls means she should 'give up'. That's the crux of my comment. No need to patronise me, I was only expressing a valid point.

  • @bridled - I think you've stated some fairly obvious points there? All of us fall off eventing - I've had my share. If you'd bothered to read more closely, I'm expressing an opinion on the nature and cause of her falls, not the falls themselves. And you call me ignorant.. if you don't like reading other people's opinions, don't bother logging onto youtube. How old are you, 14?

  • Aw what a sweet horse to stick around to see if their rider's okay :)

  • was she ok? omg i hope her horse was ok 2

  • poor horse. have to do this just for her fun. i hope she breaks HER neck !

  • @joosiej85 - have a look through some of her history - Call again Cavalier died a horrific death due to a misjudgement on her part (left behind, dropped the horse on a wide fence), and believe me, some of the 'best' riders are not necessarily the ones who set the best example of riding. You can climb your way around the jumps and not pick up penalties, especially if you have a number of horses to go through. Mary has had a LOT of falls, all generally showing the same mistakes right beforehand.

  • @funwithknives00 Mary has been at the top of her sport for over 20 years, I think you'd have had a fair few falls over that time if you were the same. Mary completes and wins many 4*s every year yet you choose to pick up on the two or three horse falls that she's had in the past 4 years? When competing at the top horse falls are a given, everyone will have them, everyone makes mistakes. In no way does this mean Mary should 'give up', what an ignorant comment.

  • @bridled I could not agree more, I just didn't have the time to write that paha! thankyou :) x

  • one reason why i will never compete at this level

  • I agree with @Skateboardlssie. The first horse I got was almost going insane because he didn't have an outlet to put his energy in. When I first started jumping him he was calm almost immediately. He would go crazy without jumping. It's natural for them, some love and some don't. Cross country/jumper horses wouldn't jump if they didn't want to.

  • alle gehn zum reiter & was is mit dem Pferd ??

  • christ, I'm sick of the same thing in each of her fall videos - gets left behind, hits horse in the mouth or lands on its back. Have a look at the approach to that jump, in the last stride, she raises her hands and bangs him in the mouth and alters his ability to make the fence. Give up Mary King before you destroy yourself or another horse!!!!

  • @funwithknives00 If she is such an awful rider, how has she been one of the best in the world for 20+ years? Her horses have had long and successful careers so saying she "destroys" horses is hardly accurate...

  • that horse looked like he nearly snapped his neck

  • @EsGibtNurScheissName its not right to say that. I understand where you're coming from, I do feel sorry for the horse's when they fall, but really, if they weren't good enough to do cross country they wouldn't be made to. It's like that with all horse sports, only the best are ever picked. If a horse didn't want to jump, it wouldn't. They're big enough to decide what they do and don't want to do. And bold horse jumpers will go over anything. To some horses it might be cruel NOT to jump

  • @SkateboardIssie Indeed. Horses who don't enjoy their work don't get to this level in the first place!

  • ooh, that looks sore, I saw this on TV last year and I was like O__O

  • I gasped at the same time you did...

  • she falls off alot!!!

  • such an amazing rider but very lucky!

  • is the horse ok?!

  • how old is she? She looks like a teen.

  • @tsthree00 mary king is in her 50's

  • @tsthree00 slightly off :D

  • "Property of British Broadcasting 2"

why not call it BBC 2? Her horse so nearly stepped on her leg!! XD

  • @CatRoyalAudio because there are similair variations and this video is worldwide, and if it needed to be translated then they know, as in other languages they will call it british broadcasting but in their language :)

  • mary king is AMAZING, but i feel like she falls alot. hahaha<3

  • oh goot die armen

  • were they both ok

  • DAMN! ;/ Auuuuuuuu... That's hurts...

  • Ooooh ouch that's gotta hurt! Glad they're OK now. Cavalier's so cute afterwards he looks back and is all "what the hell just happened!?"

  • omg you got sky !!!!

  • Haha pissing FUNNY

  • und das Pferd ist scheiß egal....

    nur der mesch nicht -.-

  • Jheezuz!

  • Was the grass ok?

  • блиин... бедные..**(

  • ahahaha that was KARMA

  • this is why I'm scared to get into eventing . . .

  • Ooooo Not Good

  • Geez! :( :(

  • Ouchh i never want to become a professinal horse rider, i just do it for fun

  • Faceplanted the floor... ouch

  • OMG.. glad she was okay, she is one of my top favorite riders.. I plan on going to one of clinics next year.. that was a very close call.. !!

  • @twilightsagarulez1 theres also ones that are bendy in the middle so if your on the ground and your foots still in the stirrup it bends and slides out..

most people should use safety stirrups wether they compete or not haha, you can fall off doing anything, anywhere.

  • @twilightsagarulez1 I know, Ive heard about them too. When you fall of, the elastic or rubber band snaps off so your foot dosent get stuck in the stirrup. Not all people use these stirrups though.

  • omg mary king is awsome , i hope she was okay :(

  • Mary King is a amazing rider! Im glad her and her horse were alright, did you notice how she got her foot stuck in the stirrup after her and her horse fell? It could of been so bad!!

  • oh my god poor mary:(<3

  • GOOD JOB MARY KING!

  • Saw it live. o.o

  • they like both dissapeared when her horse cleared it :) who owns it? i don't think mary owns him.

  • omg that was really bad the horse stopped looked around then trotted away like it wasn't me!!!

  • horse: Bitch You alive? .>.>

Mary: yeah im fine, just sore.

    Horse: Kay FUUUCKING RUUUUUUUUN!

  • she was extremly lucky!

  • its lucky she got her foot loose its almost like her horse was helping her get her foot loose i think its good he didint run off

  • those blow up protectors are great but they are really expensive!

  • @Thatkidwithguns around £400 ($850 USD). expensive but without a doubt life saving!

  • @lovehorses818 yeah :) but considering her level of riding she probobly gets it free thanks to sponsoring! but like you said saving a life has no cost :)

  • @Thatkidwithguns and they practically suffercate you when they go off! pretty scary :)

risk of suffercation and cost of new canaster = definately an incentive not too fall off! :)

  • @Millsy789 not if fitted correctly, it's just tight but they don't suffocate you:)

  • @lovehorses818 it was a joke.... but trust my the tightening feeling when you are already winded is not pleasant. but they do the job thats for sure.

  • @Thatkidwithguns The lanyard didn't even detatch and deploy the vest until the horse got up, so the vest certainly did not affect the outcome of the horse landing on her!

  • @Thatkidwithguns They are indeed. But a small price to pay for saving your life :)

  • poor mary although its could of been worse shes such a nice rider and never takes it out on her horse

  • Ouch! :O

  • The horse was like, omg sorry are you okay!? Yeah you'll alright, im off!

  • Omg! I watched this on tv too. Glad to say both walked away unscathed.

  • I'm glad she and the horse walked away ok.

I ride but I must say I hate eventing shows these fixed jumps are dangerous.

  • @kanan360 these are 10000000000000000000 times safer from the ones unfixed cause sometimes the horse gently pushes it and the whole jump takes the horse and rider with them if unlucky, if these were unfixed you wouldnt see many clear rounds.

  • @morvenbabexx thanks for your replay.

  • Wow, what luck. Could have been incredibly nasty. Gotta love those air vests!

  • Horse could have easily broken its neck and Mary could have easily broken her leg, they were very very lucky.

  • Suprised she hasn't got a broken leg! When was this on TV? and what channel? 208?

  • Omg!! That could of been so bad! So glad marry and her horse walked away ok! That could of been horrible! xx

  • @shezanddoo i know i was watching and i was worried when they were trying to get the jacket off because the air bag had poped

  • Rotational fall, bloody lucky the both of them!

  • shit :O

  • omg poor horse he could have broken his back and poor person too

  • woah, did she break any bones? the poor horse, too. thanks God her foot came out of the stirrup before too long.

  • holy shit

  • OMG! poor woman ..... and horse, he basically did a back flip :O

  • I saw this, i was like SHIT, cos Mary's frickin fantastic and its unusual to have her fall!but that was an awful fall!:( xxxx

  • OMG :SS Ouch>? :(

  • just been watching this on telly! such a shame!! :O glad they were both okay , as far as i know xx

  • OMG! I was so shocked when I saw this!
