  • I hate people who take advantage of animals to do their dirty work, fucking assholes.

  • Doesn't look like the dog wants to do it if he has to be coaxed into it with food and encouragement. Not looking like his idea of a good time. You people are the real animals. That dog should be treated with more respect than that.

  • nice mate, these types are dogs are meant to do all this, this is there easy of having fun, you can no way call this as bad as dog fighting or being mean to your dog, nice dog, mum and dad are making me save up and get a job before i can buy one. they are my favrioute dogs.

  • If your dog knew you scoopedmids...

  • How do some people this is abusing the dog? THEY WERE BRED TO DO THIS EXACT THING.

  • MUST HAVE TREAT!!!

  • Beautiful dog.

  • This explains why my dog was able to drag me accross the oval while my hand was super tangled in the lead, she was chasing birds. But i do think this is slightly cruel but the again your dog seemed happy so my opinion is not clear.

  • Maybe it's semantics, but a Malamute is a type of Husky (I can think of about 12 different Husky "Breeds" off the top of my head, only one of which is the Sibe), but yeah, I like this video. These dogs are born to pull, & Malamutes are freighting dogs, so they're meant to pull some seriously heavy weight (I used to have a Quebec Husky freighter). I have an AK Husky, & her strength is amazing, & yet she's "Only" 50 lbs. in comparison. I love your AK Malamute Avalanche, & I wish y'all the best.

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH Sorry, but your nomenclature of the breeds is wrong. These aren't types of 'Huskies', Siberian Huskies are part of the group 'Arctic Breeds', as are Malamutes. There's no AKC recognized breeds as a 'Quebec Husky' or an 'Alaskan Husky', as those are 'mutt' breeds (for example, the the 'Alaskan Husky' has Siberian Husky as a root, but also has things like Greyhound in it).

  • Taken from the AKC website, under Malamute

An American breed, the Alaskan Malamute was named after the native Innuit tribe called Mahlemuts, who settled in Alaska. They have always been used as sled dogs for heavy freighting in the Arctic. The breed is cousin to the other Arctic breeds: the Samoyed, the Siberian Husky and the American Eskimo dog.

  • @regor5150 Off topic but how's the stang restoration coming along?

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH Malamutes are not a Husky breed.. both the Siberian Husky and Alaskan malamute are a member of the spitz family and are both Arctic breeds.

  • So beautiful wowwww! :D

  • pretty boy

  • the biggest giant teddy bear ever.

    omg

  • hahaha the guy was panting and the dog was just like "time to take another crap"

  • It cracks me up how often I see people say that Huskies and Malamutes are the same breed. Seriously, people. It takes 2 seconds to go to wiki and read about the difference. Also, Malamutes can pull up to 2k lbs EASY. It's not torture for them, it's what they were bred to do. Beautiful dog!

  • ok first how old r u? if ur over 20 u should know that a malamute is a type of husky if not man ur dumb im 14 and thought u should know jack ass

  • @Devils9Misstress im a husky owner, malamute is not a type of husky. malamutes are bigger and tend to be a bit more gentle thean huskies. go look up the two breeds on an actual dog breeding website and they will give you all the info.

  • @Devils9Misstress Actually, you're 14 and still don't know shit. SIBERIAN Husky and ALASKAN Malamute are two different types of dogs. So next time, why don't you try Googling before typing. Because you only make yourself look like an idiot for the whole world to see.

  • @regor5150 dont worry about the haters i have a malamute if people say this is animal abuse it's clearly not they can explain how in alaska they was pulling stuff for the eskimos ect..... and beautiful dog :)

  • @XxMalamutexX I don't worry about them. I just put them in their places, and then ban them from posting again ;)

  • @XxMalamutexX yep. What many people don't realize is BOTH breeds were bred to pull heavy loads and for extensive periods of time.

They seem to think this is animal abuse but it's not... they LOVE and CRAVE extensive exercise. In fact, it would be considered abuse to keep these beautiful powerhouses cooped up.

In many sled teams, the Malamutes are stronger and pull the weight of the cargo, which is why they are placed in the back of the pack whereas the Siberians are supposedly swifter.

  • @Devils9Misstress Malamutes and Huskys are different breeds. They may look the same but they are completely different. I would state all the facts about each of them right now but i just can't be bothered wasting my time on a keyboard warrior like your self..

  • @Devils9Misstress They are usually mistaken that they are the same family due to the color but are quite different in many ways including size, structure and personality. Malamutes are larger, very bone densed and stronger. They are both of the Spitz-type Sled dogs. but not the same type. In fact BOTH is a type of mixed breed wolves. Two different dogs breeded with wolves.

  • @Devils9Misstress LMFAO so dumb. they are workign dogs . even my siberian loves to pull tyres around.

and theyy are smart dogs. if they dont want to do it then they wont.. they aint dumb like u mate. LMFAO!!

  • @Devils9Misstress WRONG!! They are two different breeds.

  • Fucktards like this should be banned from keeping dogs.

  • @ramthatdiver Fucktards like you should be banned from posting on YouTube. As a matter of fact, I think I'll do just that.

  • @ramthatdiver dont be so mean. He is not a husky, which malamute is not designed to race. They are a larger breed of alaskan dogs that were breed to carry large loads over long distances. Many Malamutes are family pets nowdays, but they are highly athletic and still capable of enjoying sledding, weight-pulling, back-packing, jogging and swimming. When heavy loads were need of pulling through the ice, it was the Malamute's job to do so.

  • @ramthatdiver

The mamalute was bred to pull things. The breed enjoys pulling things.

    You're the only fucktard here.

  • @ramthatdiver dogs of this breed are bred to pull heavy weights... inless you can run with them for about 2-3 hours a day which most people dont have time for, hes doing a good job giving it the excersize a dog needs.. if he didnt you would be moaning how its unfair on the dog... Mine all wear rucksacks where they have small weights in too when we go running just to add resistance.

  • @ramthatdiver You are an idiot! this is what our breed is supposed to do. They LOVE to work hard. I have a 7 month and a 9 month old and all they do is pull. Stupid hippy!

  • R _ u stupid or ju$t plain cruel. ????

Yes huskyz sled but Farrr out.. Iv got a husky myself and if i wantd her to pull, id do.it properly, ur straining his/her back

  • @krownmks First, go back to school and learn English. Second, this isn't a Husky, its a Malamute. Third, there's nothing improper about what I did or how I did it. He's wearing a pulling harness, which is designed for one dog to pull a weight behind him. So next time you ask someone 'R _ u stupid,' make sure its not yourself you're talking about.

  • Doesn't matter how strong he is, that's risking a crucial knee ligament injury, which is $1500 to fix per leg and the dog will never be 100% again.

  • @cavalrytm And you risk getting killed in a car accident every day you leave your house. Doesn't mean you don't leave, does it?

  • IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!

  • @Trakarg word

  • he has a very long coat...must be a wooly mal

  • What a big handsome baby!!

  • omg heheh he looks like a creampuff.... ehhehe beautiful dog.

  • He's so fluffy... Beautiful dog.

  • 1500 Pounds... That car weighs at least 2 tons, unless its motorless. Either way, that is much more than 1500 pounds.

  • @blondefucker101 The car is a work-in-progress restoration. There was no drivetrain in it.

  • Wow, doesn't even look like the dog is trying.

  • You should but him in a few weight pull competitions. If you win you get the weight he pulls in dog food.

  • that is one beautiful dog :D

  • Soooooo strong and really beautiful!

  • The modern sled

  • what a beautiful dog man! honestly this breed has to be my favorite breed.

  • Oi! who in that vid called the dog stupid !:o

  • @Hunnybee500 Didn't say stupid dog, I said stupid GLOVES

  • @Hunnybee500 Owwh sorry sounded like dog .!

  • bravo!! the best dog

  • My apologies. That's actually quite creative of you to use this method. Do you use the traditional way of clicker too? Or do you only use the clicker to lure him to pull? Can you use commands or hand signals in pulling competitions?

  • @CrazyDragonCross Actually, when I took him to puppy training classes, they had me use a clicker. But he's so intelligent, after a short while, I didn't need the clicker whatsoever to get him to do what I want. He picks up on things very quickly. So I'm not 'cross-training' him by using the clicker this way, as I don't use it in any other way with him. Yes, you can use commands and hand signals, but he was just 'learning' the whole weight pulling thing at this point

  • Is that a clicker? If it is, I think you're using it wrongly lol.. It's supposed to be a marker for a behavior, not something to lure the dog..

  • @CrazyDragonCross That may be the 'traditional' way of using a clicker, yes. But there's no 'law' against me using it as bait. Pulling competitions don't allow 'live bait' so using meat or leather or other substances as bait to get the dog to pull, is illegal. So instead, during training, I hold meat in my hand along with the clicker, and entice him towards the clicking with the smell of the meat. That way, during competitions, he'll associate the two together.

  • Hey rog guesss who!

  • he is a big cute fluffly mutt ;)

  • I have a husky/malamute mix whose almost 8 months and I'm currently working on teaching him to pull. What a beautiful dog, and is a great example of their power. A bit extreme on the clicker though, you would think using the clicker that much would confuse the dog.

  • What a magnificent animal. He looks like the perfect example of this breed. Well done. And seriously, unless someone owns a breed like this, they have no experience or right to be negatively commenting.

  • why are the guys at the backk pushing????

  • @Charmed66Fan They aren't pushing at all. One person is there to move the steering wheel on the car to direct it, the others were there as a 'safety precaution' in case the car got rolling faster than the dog was moving, which never happened thankfully.

  • The dog is not even trying. My mal/shep cross played in weight pull competittions just for fun - no training and easly pulled 980 without batting an eye, Forgive me for saying but what are you doing with that clicker so constantly? Try patting the ground about a yard in front of him and call him "come" Beautiful dog. and Mals get fat easily because they use up every bit of grub they get. My mal eats 2 and 1/2 cups a day and is a little overweight .give carrots as snacks

  • sick display of this breeds strength... this is what they were bred for!!! they enjoy this kind of work it is rewarding to them.... one of the reasons they are considered "working dogs"

  • Haha, proves how intelligent Mals are...the human's the one on his knees feeding the dog. Mals are the best dogs!

  • @WomanOFaith HELLLL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • That is beautiful dog.

  • Typical malamute: still bored by training even while pulling vintage car

He's a moderate size for a weight-pulling mal -- large for show (~85 lbs), but not the extreme "giant" mals either (~150 lbs)

  • @meebees Actually, he's 5 years old now, and 145lbs lol - But he's overweight to be honest. I haven't pulled him in years, but he's gonna soon, that's for sure!

  • that is one strong beautiful dog :D

  • Remember my whole 2nd grade class getting pulled on a cart by a malamute

  • This video inspired me to adopt a malamute. Picking my boy up two saturdays from now. Can't wait.

  • NICE TO SEE A MALAMUTE DOING WHATS ITS BORN TO DO PULL . WHAT A BEAUTY

  • Why so many dislikes?

  • good job avalanche but the whole time he looked like "good boy my butt, give me the forking treat!"

  • Oooh! So pretty @_@ Makes me wish my huskies were that pretty xD They have the fluffy though. o_o

  • Omg I love your poofie malamute..! Snuggling power to the max!

  • gorgeous malamute and its great to let them pull coz they love it but the clicker trainings all wrong, the dog needs to be taught that the clicker is a sign that a rewards coming, so it should be clicked once then a treat given instantly (quite often to get him used to it), but only when the dog is doing what you want, otherwise he thinks that your rewarding him for not doing it

  • Youre dog is gorgeous.. Wish I could see what that Mustang looks like after the fix up.

  • SIR YOUR DOG IS A BEAST... KEEP UP TRAINING HIM AND TAKING CARE OF HIM LIKE YOU ALWAYS BEEN DOING AND (FORGET THOSE HATERZ) HATEING OFF OF YOUR DOG PULLING THE CAR..... YOU KNOW YOUR DOG BETTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE.... OOOO AND ARE ALL ALASKAN MALAMUTE TAILS LIKE THAT ARE WHAT???? BE BLESS AND YALL HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!

  • your malamute is absolutely gorgeous! i love these dogs - my boyfriend's family used to have two of them. when i'm able, i definitely want to adopt one for myself :) your boy is SO strong!

  • Malamutes are great and I want one badly. However, you did not do the clicker training correct AT ALL. And there were several times you stopped and kept saying PULL while furiously clicking the clicker....I bet that dog was confused as hell. Gorgeous dog though.

  • it's not nice to use ur poor dog to be fucken popular, u asshole, go to hell, may the dog escape from such a bad owner

  • @berosoly You have absolutely NO IDEA what you're talking about, you ignorant fool. This dog is better taken care of than most people take care of their own children, or parents for that matter. He gets steak chopped up with his dry dog food kibble, he gets groomed 1x a month, and even has HEALTH INSURANCE! Malamutes are bred to pull, and he loves to do it! So do us all a favor and go troll someplace else.

  • @berosoly It's a Malamute. It was born for this kind of thing and much, much more. This was probably about as difficult for Avalanche as climbing a tall ladder would be for you or me. This is good for the dog. Way better than not exercising it and letting lay around, building up nervous energy. How can you claim to have such empathy for the animal if you know so little about it?

  • @berosoly I hope you get aids and have to live, the f@#% is wrong with you? The dog pulls stuff, whateves, not every animal can be as fat and lazy as you and stay on youtube and post bs comments. I realize it maybe considered hip to act like you care about animals, but the dog is obviously put in a good harness and is fine at the end of this video, he got a work out, something I know you don't like, especially not for yourself.

    ~

  • @berosoly This video makes me smile. People who don't give Malamutes jobs like these are being cruel to their dogs. They LOVE pulling large loads. Avalanche doesn't even seem phased by the car.

  • Comment removed

  • Mom's regulating on ya :) he he

  • erm are those men at the back of the car pushing it? cause it sure as hell looks like it

  • @MetalShewolf93 No sir, they were back there as a precaution, in case something happened, as we had never tried to have him pull something as large as a car before. My brother moved the steering wheel from time to time, but they were merely walking behind the car, not pushing.

  • Wow...pure raw power, obedient, and as cute as a babies bottom! this has got to be the best pet in the world!

  • DAMN THATS A STRONG DOG O.O

  • he looks like a big teddy bear im sure hed be so much fun to hug

  • Thats a pretty malamute hes buff as hell too

  • I think this is pretty funny. and honestly the owner should know what their animal is capable of doing. so everyone else can shove it, ^_^ its adorable because he's like i can do it! Its a beautiful dog too. =)

  • isn't there suppose to be a different type of harness for pulling to distribute the weight over the entire body, rather than shoulders & neck.

  • @1Serval Kind of. There's no other way to pull than from the shoulders, but there is a difference in harness between weight pulling and racing (sled pulling). The weight pulling has a wooden dowel that goes across the straps in the back, behind the legs, which helps to distribute the weight evenly. Racing harnesses don't have this.

  • @regor5150 - thanks for taking the time to answer. That is a gorgeous dog. People here in AZ put them on sleds in the desert, when the ground is extremely hot. Don't personally like them doing it because when it's 115, the ground can be 130+. The huskies and malamutes only have short fur out here.

  • that is an absolutely gorgeous animal

  • malamutes were bred to pull in a pack, not pulling single especially this massive weight. you're killing his hips, it might not crop up now but surely take its toll when he gets older. please be more responsible, this video breaks my heart.

  • @misorange Ok, so all these dogs in weight pulling competitions who pull >2000lbs, their owners are being irresponsible? Listen, relax. This happened once, and to be honest, he hasn't pulled any weight in like 2.5 years. So calm your broken heart down cupcake.

  • All I have to say is Wow and not in a good way, its amazing ow so many people show there real age when trying to show off and there maturity.

  • All I have to say is Wow and not in a good way, its amazing ow so many people show there real age when trying to show off

  • Your Alaskan Malamute has a very striking appearance and is a very handsome dog.

  • Haha "Mom the dog aint going to get hurt!" and "How long can you record?"

  • Thanks for posting this, mate. I get my first Malamute next week.

  • wow beautiful dog.

  • I had a miniature pinscher nd it pulled me , I was bout 130

  • i bet all those dislikes are from people who know nothing about the breed, they are heavy lifters, and either way, that car is a frame on wheels

  • @DaBurntToaster and he can obviously do it =\

  • ITS SO FLUFFY!!!

  • lol a kangals are shepherd-guard dogs and they can pull tractors

  • Wow, that is NOT proper use of the clicker. Just saying.

  • @liisac111 Wow, that is not TRADITIONAL use of the clicker. Try thinking outside the box once in a while. Just sayin. (If you bothered to read any of these posts in here, you'd understand why I did what I did)

  • @regor5150 I agree with liisac111 it looks nonkosher to me

  • he's so gorgeous.

  • we have a 5ft malamute husky

  • Awesome Malamute! Want one? Look up "Howl At The Moon Malamutes" on Google.

  • avalanche is a fucking awesome name

  • man I would love to get a dog like that, beautiful!

and your mom has a cool accent :) is she German?

  • OMG I LOVE HIMMM!!!

  • if you try to relate to the dog, you'd think that the authority would be at the steering, behind the dog - as they've learnt from pulling sleds. Either behind or at the side like an authority. Not trying to tease the dog into pulling.

  • @mynameisUhrl Well, firstly, he was still in the beginning stages of learning to pull. And secondly, weight pulling and sled pulling are two different styles. There's no steering in weight pulling.

  • I heard they were sled dogs

  • lol what a machine

  • So beautiful...and so healthy

  • Didn't even break a sweat!

  • never knew there would be so much fuss about a malamute pulling a car!

does it really matter what sort of training he has? it's every owners decision how to train! The malamute is enjoying itself, so why not pull a car.

  • oh my good, thats such a beautiful dog!!!

  • such a strong and beautiful dog, this dog doesn't even look like he was struggling when pulling

  • @THEIonDragon For your information, Av doesn't even NEED a clicker to do ANY normal 'tricks'. He's beyond well trained, and is one of the smartest dogs you'd ever meet. I don't have to walk him on a leash, and as a matter of fact, he walks BETTER when he's off the leash. He'll walk right at my side, as opposed to walking ahead and sniffing things. He'll do every command, sit, lay down, high five, bear hug, say his prayers, wave goodbye, peekaboo, wait, leave it, etc WITHOUT a clicker at all.

  • Cool ass dog. I had a large female malimute when I was a kid. I think it get too hot for them here in Georgia though. I have 2 Boxers now.

  • You... have such strong and beautiful malamute!!

  • @urbex2007 Malamutes (and other northern breeds) are breed to pull... read up on them before accusing someone of being cruel.

  • beautiful dog! we are getting a malamute soon! puppies will be born at the end of the month and ready to go home around may 21st!!!

  • Excellent looking dog, dude~! green with envy :)

  • to mrdaza: i am a dog trainer and just so you know you initiate clicker training with treats but then slowly remove the use of treats so that the dogs reward is the click. this is to help so that dogs do not become treat dependent. what he did was absolutely correct.

  • @djhooker20 Thank you!! I wish I could sticky this reply to the top always, so other can read this first! :)

  • he looks like a giant, is he an actual "giant" alaskan malamute??

  • @Corey497 No, he's a larger Mal, but he's not a 'giant' breed

  • It's good that you're putting your dog to work, because Malamutes love to work.

  • Damn I've wanted a malamute forever, but I don't think south Texas would treat them well.

  • Guy using the clicker you need to learn how to use it properly .

The way your supposed to use the clicker is when he does what you want him to you click and give him treats at the same time not just spam click it you fucking idiot ..... LEARN HOW TO USE THE CLICKER !!!!!!!

  • @MrDaza101 Listen here jackass, there's no MUST ONLY USE method for using a clicker. Sure, there's a 'traditional' method for using a clicker. I can use it ANY WAY I CHOOSE!!

  • You have a really beautiful dog! haha it's awesome!!! And people, there are multiple ways to use the clicker.... so shut up and leave the guy alone cuz there is such thing as turning the sound off (aka your damn hearin aids) if you find it annoying. -On the parts where you had to keep getting his attention to pull, try using another word maybe so he doesn't get bored with the same word of "pull." Try the traditional sled dog word of "hike" maybe it'll help him keep more focus(:

  • BEAUTIFUL fur!!

  • Man I love that deep bass voice Avalanche has.

  • Love the video. So many people think of these as cruelty, but I agree dogs like these and pitbulls love to pull. They have so much fun. I loved it

  • Its nice that it has some stimulation but you could help it just a little bit. =P

Aside from this you totally misuse that clicker. Its the only thing that makes this video get really annoying.

    Cute Mal though ^.^

    xx

  • @woohootoodles Yeah, ok. Thanks. I know its annoying. You're like the 10000000th person to say so. If you'd bother to READ the posts in this, you'd understand why I used the clicker.

  • Great to see a malamute actually doing what it was made for rather than being cooped up all day

  • malamutes love to pull, when they are you its recommended that you put weights in a wagon to let it pull and get exercise

  • Crazy video! Looks like he wasn't even tired! Haha!

I have a question though, what harness did you use and where did you get it? I've been looking for some nice harnesses for my husky to start training her. Would love any info you can provide :)

  • @AWanderingDream I got it from a local pet supply store in MI. They don't have a website :( K-9 Specialties on Mound Rd. in Warren, I believe.

  • just stand further ...

  • wow ! great dog ! its between a wolf and a dog !

  • @truitons Nope. Its 100% dog, 0% wolf.

  • We let my mall pull me on an old 4-wheeler. He LOVES it. He doesn't get enough exercise otherwise.

  • this is pretty awesome.

  • beautiful dog.

  • now that dog has the Cummins within him.

  • that is AWESOMEEEE nice job and beautiful dog! man, hes got some POWER

  • HAHA, I have Samoyeds and I love Malamutes but I don't know if I would be a capable owner for a Malamute.

They are a gorgeous animal and they have a personality toward people that is every bit as good as a Samoyed, but I'm not certain I could handle a Mal properly for socialization. I worry about their tendency to go after smaller animals.

Their lifespan is too short too.

Maybe I'll join malamute rescue when my two dogs have passed away.

  • Avalanche is a beauty, jesus christ so much furrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful strong dog! great vid, thanks for sharing!

  • Holy Hell, He's powerful! 0_0

  • @RickDev15 Um, hey smartass, you're missing the whole point behind having the dog do it. Ever heard of a Malamute before? They were bred to pull weight. So, we had some weight, and he loves to pull, so we had him pull.

  • As far as i know that clicker training is mistaken... clicking is for when the dog does the right thing. He should click when the dog was pulling the car and combine the clicking with the treat.

  • @lightenlynx GOD why won't anyone READ WHAT I'VE WRITTEN AS TO WHY I USE THE CLICKER AGAINST THE NORMAL METHOD?!?!?!?!

  • @cmilla646 Yes, its a training clicker. I used it to associate a treat with the sound of the clicker so he'd want to pull towards the sound of the click, because in competition weight pulling, 'animal product' is not allowed to be used as bait for pulls.

  • Beautiful Mal. For those of you who want to get one, Don't. Although they are beautiful, they are very stubborn and independent. They can be very difficult for the average dog owner.

  • He is beautiful :D ,i love malamutes :D

  • I don't care if he is really pulling the car or not. He is just one hell of beautiful dog to behold.

  • the dog wasnt technically pulling the car.... the dog started but u can see thorughout the footage the two men oushing and dircting the car... pushing is helping...

  • @Blondejc Listen, you can think whatever you want. But I guarantee you the people behind the car were NOT pushing in any way. They were back there "In Case of Emergency" i.e. if he started pulling to fast and the car went rolling and he didn't get out of the way. He WAS TECHNICALLY pulling the car. He's pulled 1500lbs before, and without the body panels an
