I didn't have any problems following the story until the end. I must have missed something because I don't get the significance of the rings. Can someone clarify?

I will eventually beat this but haven't yet. The political story really turned me off... definitely less focus on the characters and more on the events surrounding them. Plus it plays like a MMORPG :(

Because if the hit detection isn't akin to that of an action game, which reflects well in games such as Demon's Souls.
Why bother faking it? But a guess a fake orgasm is better then no orgasm? (crude exemple is crude)
I actually loved this game and all it's complexities. I didn't get as far as beating it, though. I only got as far as The Feywood, but the tomatoes raped me.
At any rate, the battle system was by no means shitty; you just need to learn to think quickly and decisively. Turn-based combat gets stale very fast. The combat system here makes things a lot more interesting and free, seeing as you can change someone's commands mid-turn.

You know, is it just me or did this not seem like a FF game? I've played 7 through this and as hard as I tried, I couldn't enjoy this installment. It wasn't dreadful, I beat the whole deal cuz I just have to, but the whole game just felt "odd" to me.
I agree with you man. I'm a huge final fantasy fan and I love all of them except this one. I even like the NES ones better. This was by far the worst final fantasy. It didn't feel like final fantasy at all, just another role playing game.
Balthier and Fran were the ones who 'stole' the Strahl back and left the treasure for Vaan and Penelo to find. It was on the note that they would be waiting in Belbenia for them.

That was not to say FF 8 wasn't cool, cus it was. I loved the cast. But story-wise I prefer 7 and 12. And 10, I guess. Though I wanted to tie Tidus down and give him a sedative sometimes, he was so dang hyper. lol
I liked X-2 as well. While way over the top on the skimpy/slutty dressing (and annoying b/c of that), it was really sweet and romantic in its story.
Wow. I hadn't seen the end of the game yet, so I never realized Penelo hinted at BaschxAshe. XD I've liked that couple for a while now and it turns out I actually have canon basis I never knew about! XD
Plus, this ending movie is just so pretty. *_* Though... when was there lake and aqueduct(or is it a bridge?) next to Rabanastre? I don't remember that existing earlier in the game. XD

I actually like this ending because for once it left you with "The End but not the end..."
I actually wish there was a sequel - this game was unlike any other FF game I've ever played (I've played them all as a matter of fact). The ending was very sad; everyone moved on and blah blah blaah. I actually wish there was a full-length movie like Advent Children for both this game and the FF 8 game as well.
i really like ff8 but from most of the movies that square puts out, they suck. there is a sequel for this game but it's on psp i think. advent children didn't make sense at all and spirit within was worse. it would be nice if they make more movies or even comics after the games but i don't think it will be as good as the game itself.

Advent Children was hard to follow and made little sense, but that's prolly b/c FFXIII itself was half environmentalism/muddied philosophy and half drug trip. lol It didn't make a ton of sense at some parts either. Like... maybe there *was* sense in there, but it felt like the story wasn't telling you all you needed to know or something.
Part of why I like 12 so much is the story has intrigue and twists but it manages not to be convoluted. You can tell the writers actually understood the story.
WHY CAN"T I FINISH THE DAM GAME!!! i'm a final fantasy fan but this is the second game i can't finish (other then X-2). i'm in Ridorana Cataract (around 90% of the main story line) but i don't see the challenge anymore. the whale-like fish that floats was killed without me pushing another button. after that i stopped playing it. tell me, is there any scenes or events worth continuing (not being negative, i'm just asking). probably im going to get a lot or negative replies but i'm just asking.
Disappointing ending. But amazing gameplay I must say. Wheres the love-story element in the game? Theres like none, closet could be balither X Fran. The story really sucks, other FF numbers can overtake it any day.

Every Final Fantasy ever made is a stand-alone story. This means different characters, different situations, different worlds and so on. However, certain key elements have the tendency to make their return in various game versions, such as "Summons" and ofcourse the various magic spells, abilitys, and more.
Just played the game over. Final Fantasy XII is just great. The game is one of the best games I have ever played. I love it. Maybe the story was better in FF X, but the story of this game isn't bad anyway, I like it.
New Battle System - AWESOME! You need to play the game for about 100 hours or more (to get the best weapons, espers, lvl etc) and it's also great.
The characters are cool. My favorite character of all FF games is Balthier :)
this game is not for people who do not watch the scenes and think they can beat the game this game requires u to READ yes READ the text if u do then this game is ridiculously good.

I didn't like the ending. Finished the game some minitues ago and it was boring. Bute there's one question. Was Venat evil? I can't answer. What ever.

Balthier and Fran were the ones who 'stole' the Strahl back and left the treasure for Vaan and Penelo to find. It was on the note that they would be waiting in Belbenia for them.

That was not to say FF 8 wasn't cool, cus it was. I loved the cast. But story-wise I prefer 7 and 12. And 10, I guess. Though I wanted to tie Tidus down and give him a sedative sometimes, he was so dang hyper. lol
I liked X-2 as well. While way over the top on the skimpy/slutty dressing (and annoying b/c of that), it was really sweet and romantic in its story.

Wow. I hadn't seen the end of the game yet, so I never realized Penelo hinted at BaschxAshe. XD I've liked that couple for a while now and it turns out I actually have canon basis I never knew about! XD
Plus, this ending movie is just so pretty. *_* Though... when was there lake and aqueduct(or is it a bridge?) next to Rabanastre? I don't remember that existing earlier in the game. XD

Well i was dissappointed, the story was shit, there was no connection with the characters.. ones like 7 and 10 had a story for each character, made you connect with em, this one kinda just ended out of nowhere for me. I loved Fran though and the sound of her voice. Sall good but cause ff13 is gonna fukn rock

I remember completing this game like this time last year. I finished it in like 3 weeks I was sooo hooked xD. I think it was an amazing game, I honestly thought it was just as good as ff 10. I can't wait for 13 though, I'm getting PS3 specially :P.

I was really dissapointed with this ending, I didnt like it at all, was too plain and simple, with out any emotion or something that makes you want to have a second part of the game or whatsoever... For me the best FF is the 8... now that was a HELL of a ending

ehhh I dunno about that, VIII was a bit trippier than I like, but i guess it's just taste.
Either way though, you're right about this ending being a bit watered-down b/c they didn't really say much, AND WHY WASN'T THERE A FRIGGIN' PAIRING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! I know there was that note w/ Basch, but still -_- it wouldve been nice if she ended up with Vaan or someone (just not Balthier please lol) but whatev, I guess that's that.
If nothing else, Enix is 2nd to none as far as animation :)

I guess Square ran out of love ideas. Princess + Thief was already done in FF9 and how can any other Final Fantasy Story compete with the storyline of FFx/FFx-2?

I actually wish there was a sequel - this game was unlike any other FF game I've ever played (I've played them all as a matter of fact). The ending was very sad; everyone moved on and blah blah blaah. I actually wish there was a full-length movie like Advent Children for both this game and the FF 8 game as well.

i really like ff8 but from most of the movies that square puts out, they suck. there is a sequel for this game but it's on psp i think. advent children didn't make sense at all and spirit within was worse. it would be nice if they make more movies or even comics after the games but i don't think it will be as good as the game itself.

i liked 8s movies the best too. I liked advent children, i thought it was pretty well made, i liked all the visual.
i have the stupid spirits within, i dont evne know why i have it, i never touch it. i think that one sucked too. it had nothing to do with Final Fantasy, and it...sucked. lol

Advent Children was hard to follow and made little sense, but that's prolly b/c FFXIII itself was half environmentalism/muddied philosophy and half drug trip. lol It didn't make a ton of sense at some parts either. Like... maybe there *was* sense in there, but it felt like the story wasn't telling you all you needed to know or something.
Part of why I like 12 so much is the story has intrigue and twists but it manages not to be convoluted. You can tell the writers actually understood the story.

WHY CAN"T I FINISH THE DAM GAME!!! i'm a final fantasy fan but this is the second game i can't finish (other then X-2). i'm in Ridorana Cataract (around 90% of the main story line) but i don't see the challenge anymore. the whale-like fish that floats was killed without me pushing another button. after that i stopped playing it. tell me, is there any scenes or events worth continuing (not being negative, i'm just asking). probably im going to get a lot or negative replies but i'm just asking.

Disappointing ending. But amazing gameplay I must say. Wheres the love-story element in the game? Theres like none, closet could be balither X Fran. The story really sucks, other FF numbers can overtake it any day.

seriously this game was kind of annoying...6 months and two years I still dont get the point of it all...the marks,the hunts,the story plot,the secret places,secret espers...Gah!!! i feel sick knowing that the ending was so short...they should have expounded it a little rather than just prolong it with tons of sidequest not related to the story...

im absolutley sick of this game, after 50 hours and still boring, i decided to spice it up by using exploder codes for 9999 life and deadly damage with weapons, got a bit better for 10more hours and still just couldnt hold me in. rogue galaxy was a true RPG and takes the cake. after all the FF i played this is gotta be the worse. thats just me. and my uni friends say.

Every Final Fantasy ever made is a stand-alone story. This means different characters, different situations, different worlds and so on. However, certain key elements have the tendency to make their return in various game versions, such as "Summons" and ofcourse the various magic spells, abilitys, and more.

Just played the game over. Final Fantasy XII is just great. The game is one of the best games I have ever played. I love it. Maybe the story was better in FF X, but the story of this game isn't bad anyway, I like it.
New Battle System - AWESOME! You need to play the game for about 100 hours or more (to get the best weapons, espers, lvl etc) and it's also great.
The characters are cool. My favorite character of all FF games is Balthier :)
So I would say - it's the best FF game. 10/10

iam a big fan of final fantasy but this game... the story line was boring the main plot was boring and the main character is just shocking. however the new battlesystem is awsome. new charcaters and a better plot wouldve made this game much better
