This seems to be taking theory and testing it with nature. If it works, great, but if not, who cares? I suppose this makes sense chemists would do such things, after all we're dealing with volatile stuff a lot of the time. Trial and error, assumptions, and tests... this is math.

So you're using your own method to calculate the Enthalpy of Combustion ? Do we always have to reverse the sign? I dont 100 percent get it :(

you can also add the reaction of cellulose, hydrogen, to propane if you are venturious.
