  • Is anyone else loving the Doctor's glasses?

  • why not push them down the stairs?

    you cant kill a stone,

lol, you can sure as hell smash one, they look pretty heavy, i bet if i push one over it would snap nicely. get yourself a hammer.

  • @iamnuff1992 thats what jezzar would do. "get me a hammah."

  • @iamnuff1992

They are quantum-locked. Did you not listen to the doctor?... :<

  • @gadzy

and what the fuck does "quantum-locked" mean? they turn to stone, stone can be broken.

even if it cant you could still trap them in something.

    immobile monsters are helpless

  • @iamnuff1992 I don't know much about quantum physics but I have read somewhere that the mere observation of an object alters its make up on a sub-atomic level. Almost like the particles were aware you were watching them but not. It's proper mind fuck material. So quantum locking would suggest that all its particles become inert or something due to the above process.

Either way you could still lob its head off I'm sure :)

  • I don't have "The Angels Have The Phone Box" on my t-shirt, I have "Wiblily Wobbly, Time-Whimey on MY t-shirt!

  • i rember crying at this when i was 7 hahahaha

  • Anything that bears the image of a Weeping Angel becomes a Weeping Angel in and of itself. All the angels in this video, as well as those in the video previews you now see on the right, are real angels. Don't blink. Good luck.

  • @drakrrth ... thanks for that.

  • @KaptenN they do have the shirt - look on ThinkGeek ^_^ I'm wearing mine now, actually.

  • @redpoppyholiday , thanks I just ordered mine.

  • at 3:44 "the moment they are seen" David goes back to his Scottish accent

  • Blink with left, Blink With right, Repeat, Problem solved.

  • 3:11 Someone should make that T-shirt if it hasn't been done already. :P

  • the scary as shit thig is that the people next door have a angel that covers it eyes. it is so scary becouse it will acually DISSAPEAR from time to time then come back. and whenever i ask my neighbors they just tell me not to worry about it. creepy fuck

  • Love this bit. This is great! It's just the Tenth Doctor being... well, the Tenth Doctor!!!

  • The Silence have nothing on the Angels....

  • This is one of my favorite scenes. I'm glad you've put it up.

  • So who finds that its next to impossible to not blink over and over when watching this?

  • I'll rewind it

  • he got stuck in 1969 and could have met the eleventh doctor if he went to lake

  • @Slockry 11 didnt get shot in lake silencio in 1969, he was shot there and his past self went back to 1969 because of it

  • This could be the very best Dr Who scene EVER....

  • 1969 ... really i mean how many times does he go to 1969 :P hahaha oooppsss spoilers ;) :P

  • Why can't the doctor just travel in time to talk to them instead of going through all the effort of making this message thing?

Well, then again, it is much, much cooler.

  • @joncbs I guess you haven't seen the episode.

  • @Kaffebonde I have seen the episode, it was awesome! I haven't watched much doctor who though, so I don't really know how this stuff works.

  • @joncbs Off-screen, presumably before the episode starts, the Angels sent the Doctor back in time in order to obtain access to the TARDIS's time energy undisturbed, so the Doctor didn't have the ability to travel back since the TARDIS was still in the present, and that's why they went through all the trouble of getting her the message.

And yeah, I think it must be my favourite episode. The concept of the Weeping Angels is just so interesting.

  • @joncbs The angles got the phone box. That phone box is like a time machine. Only with the help of that can the Doctor travel in time and space. That's why, he can't go to the girls present, because he lost his time machine.

  • @joncbs The Doctor can´t cross his own temporal-line, cause all the wibbly wobbly timey wimey...stuff XD

  • Possibly one of the scariest episodes of Dr Who.

  • @1noen1 The only episode that I have leaped behind my couch at...

  • Doctor who, making me scared of stone statues since 2007

  • This scene is brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • my mum has always said to me that when she was growing up.. the daleks were the scariest things ever. LOL. I would definitely choose the daleks over these weeping angels.

  • i love this! haha. just got my timey wimey poster yesterday :D

  • This Episode popped my Dr Who Cherry! Quite a good one for that purpose don't you think? Brilliant!

  • this dr who stroy was the best ever a real hide behind the sofa one

  • Aww! This video doesnt show the next two lines!

Sally: Your'e not looking at the statue...

    Larry: ... Neither are you...

  • I've got this on a t-shirt!

  • This video is an Angel for projecting an Angel.

  • The Angels are the most terrifying monster in Dr Who history.

    Love 'em.

  • Implying that with all the bugs and animals and sight-able amoeba the angels could even move around?

  • scooby do's house!!

  • Is it sad that I know all of Sally and the Doctor's bits by heart?

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW not at all!

  • @jens009 :D good. I also enjoy watching the easter egg by itself and talking to the doctor...

  • Sally was quite the snooty bitch to the geek. He never did anything wrong to her. In fact, SHE saw him naked in HIS OWN HOUSE! She at least owes him dinner or something...

  • I have an "Angels have the phone box" t-shirt.

  • @thewildone -- I got one for my birthday. :P

  • The angels have the phone box, I have that on a t-shirt.

  • i always laugh when larry's like "i've got that on a t-shirt" lol

  • Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead.

  • Earlier in the video store:

Doctor: 'People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually—from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint—it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...timey-wimey... stuff.'

    Sally: 'That started well.'

Doctor: 'It...got away from me, yeah...'

    Hilarious!! =D

    Haha, hilarious

  • Watching this at night FTW

  • I absolutely loved this episode, but I think Sally was a bit unfair with the geeky guy...

  • this is without a doubt my most favorite episode of doctor who!

  • She would have been a great companion.

  • Genius.

  • He stopped looking at it when he said "I'll rewind it"...

NEITHER OF THEM WERE LOOKING AT THE ANGEL. THEY SHOULD BE DEAD.

  • @AnastasiasDecember Yeah, it's alot closer when they look back, it freaked me out so much xD

  • @AnastasiasDecember Have you seen the episode? About 3 seconds after this clip ends your question is answered.

  • @AnastasiasDecember If they can move as fast as everyone says they can, MANY times during this episode they should have been dead, like when they are grabbing at them, instead of that, their hands would be around their throats.

  • wibbley-wobbley timey whimey stuff!!!

  • When he says "I've got that on a T-shirt" I could hear Yogurt from Spaceballs saying "Merchandising! Merchandising!"

  • After this episode came out, I walked past a playground on the way to work. It was over looked by a statue. The kids would take it in turns watching the statue, and wouldn't dare to even look away for a second. God how I love Doctor Who <3

  • lol distractions, they almost killed him :P

  • D:People don't understand time, It's not what you think it is.

    S: Then what is it?

    D: Complicated.

    S: Tell me.

    D: VERY complicated.

    lolz

  • Even if the transcript thing happened, he couldn't have possibly known how long it would take for her to reply.

  • @DeathnoteBB of course he could have he's the Doctor!!! he's got so much technology of course he couldve figured it out somehow... maybe by how long th ink has been sitting on the transcript or something :/

  • @SupernaturalWolfPup is he seriously that smart...?

  • @DeathnoteBB Actually, it's much more simple than you might think. As the manuscript is being written, it alters what's on it in the future. Since time is rewritten, every sample of that piece of writing, afterwards, would immediately get the reply as it's written.

  • @emosasukeCS2 No, it wouldn't, because he already got it from the future, so it would have what he's writing already. He's writing it for when he picks it up later, not for when he's reading it then.

  • @DeathnoteBB Unless his version had timestamps for his lines.

  • @DeathnoteBB How do you know? The Doctor actually spoke to her at the end of the episode. Now, if he has a really good memory, he could guess based on how she spoke to him the first time what her average rate of speaking was. That's the best I can do.

  • @DeathnoteBB he has the complete transcript. he's reading the whole conversation. as if you were reading a play and waiting for your line. not only is he reading his lines he's reading sally's lines as well. but supernaturalwolfpup is right. he's the doctor.

  • @MultiShipper13 I know, but surely he can read well. When someone can read well they usually read faster than they would if someone was saying it.

  • @DeathnoteBB well maybe he was trying to read larry's handwriting but was having trouble. i know i was. i mean if you watch the doctor's facial expressions throughout the scene he looks a bit confuse. that's a thought i had in mind.

  • @MultiShipper13 *shrugs* maybe. I don't want to argue about it like I know xD

  • wait, I know what to do. If they can't look at each other just club off their arms and then set them all up in front of each other.

  • How can anyone "dislike" this clip? It's genius :)

  • anyone feel like "quantom locked" sounds like the inverse of the silent?

  • @blueflameboy68

Yes! However, except in Amy's case, the Silence aren't nearly as terrifying as the Weeping Angels. You can NEVER see them...

  • @blueflameboy68 You mean that one episode froma few weeks ago? Isn't that also scary?

  • That is my favorite episode it was scary. also my favorite Doctor

  • does anyone else notice at 0:53 Sally Sparrow's name is on the wall?

That's creepy!!! and the "Oh, and duck. Duck please. No seriously duck." parts on the wall are too funny!!!

  • @Mira6254 Watch the first scene of the episode. The Doctor made the wall "talk" to her, the same way he makes the video answer her here. It's brilliant. =)

  • This scene blew my frigging mind.

  • "He's the Doctor."

    "Who's the Doctor?"

    "Exactly."

  • wy is the word "duck on the wall behind them?

  • @shyguy54321 watch the whole episode.

  • his writing is appalling, i can't read anything!!!

  • @chazzahazza333 haha. it's because he's writing in shorthand.

  • @chazzahazza333 - that's because they aren't 'real' letters - it's shorthand. Symbols that are quicker to write than letters... used by reporters etc. Google image search 'shorthand' for examples.

  • @saccerzd that makes sense!!

  • Ahhhh this is like my favorite episode! So scary though!

  • when the doctor said "thats it, there's no more on my autoqueue, I thought the bloke was killed by the angels. I was relived to see him alive. sort of.

  • When te Doctor says "It's up to you now" you know you're screwed.

  • Listen closely how the violin chords subtly start coming up the moment the Doctor ominously says:

    "...creatures from another world."

    Brilliant audiovisuals, this episode.

  • One of the coolest and most brilliant things the doctor has ever said:

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually—from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint—it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...timey-wimey...stuff."

  • @tih2409 i really want to be able to use that in a conversation one day.

  • @mei975 yes, hahaha. i suppose we all do :P

  • @tih2409 i also want to use the "don't blink" speech too. i can't look at statues now without trying not to blink. Thank you Steven Moffet for ruining statues for me, forever!

  • how do they 'mate' if they turn to stone when looked at?

  • @kingsbrothers11

I suppose since they can't ever die, they don't really need to reproduce. Or they all get into kinky blindfold play! :)

  • @kingsbrothers11 Well to start with there were only four...then Moffat ruined it all by making them move on camera.

  • 1969, just like in season 6

also in 2:37 he has horrible hand writing

  • 1969, just like in season 6

  • There is actually a shirt that says The Angels Have The Phone Box. It is on Etsy! :) The weeping angels are by far the scariest monsters in DW. <3

  • She is clever. She understood what wibbly wobbly timey wimey meant...

  • @DJmonyingSelfless I'm so confused by the season premiere, I'd believe anything.

  • 1969? COINCIDENCE???? I think not!

  • aw fuck, that last bit of instructions to not blink still gives me the geek chills. i need to rewatch this again, for like the 10th time.

  • Not even Scooby Doo would live with the angels.

  • Of course you can't kill the stone, but can't you break it?

  • @kavtoM ssshhhhhhhhhhh, we are to big of fans to care

  • @kavtoM Do you honestly think that the most powerful, most malevolent creatures evolution has ever produced could just be smashed to pieces? ;P They're ANGELS; they're obviously indestructible when they're stone, that's kind of the point.

  • @kavtoM The second episode involving the WA shows that they chance regenerate broken stone if near a source of energy... like the human that tried to break them. Not to mention you try swinging a sledgehammer or similar without blinking.

  • @FenrirStrife1 Fair point!

  • @kavtoM Usually is when I make it, LOL

  • @kavtoM Wouldn't the bits of stone that fly off also re-animate when you can't see them? Maybe they don't bleed, either. So then the pieces that break would just turn around and kill you later.

  • What I don't understand between this episode of the angels and the ones in the Byzantium is that these angels transport their victims to another point in time while 11th's kill them.

I assume it may be because they're scavengers... thus weaker than they would've been in the Byzantium since they had the ship as a power/feeding source, so they would instead transport them instead of kill them, but... is that really plausible? Did Moffat screw up?

Anyone have a theory behind that?

  • @Tawichi The Doctor actually makes a point of mentioning that, after Angel Bob says they snapped the clerics' necks: "See that's odd; that's not how the angels kill you, they displace you in time unless they needed the bodies for something." The point of it I believe was so that the angels wouldn't risk warning anyone of their current plan by sending people into the past. And for Bob's voice, of course, so that they could communicate; that's what they needed his body for, anyway.

  • @SakuraAnime17 Ahh! That makes a lot of sense now. I should find that line. Thank you!

  • @Tawichi No problem! ;3 It's near the end of The Time of Angels; after they realize that all the statues are Angels--Bob contacts The Doctor as they're trying to escape.

  • On the radio right now is a song by Kenny Chesney called "Don't Blink." hahaha

  • this scene is absolute genius.

  • latrevo afta ta episodia ke den 8a i8ela pote na alaksoun i8opio 8a itan vlakia to exo sini8isi .vale kanena olokliro episodio ama boris ok?

  • I replayed it, like, 15 times. David Tennant and Carey Mulligan are both absolutely brilliant !!!

  • If they are observed by "any living thing" then surely other creatures in the night looking at them is good enough?

  • @bollywoodcrazer21 Suspension of disbelief.

  • Comment removed

  • what i don't get i sthat throughout the episode when you blink they move frikin fast but when u turn they move slower i can tell this as you blink they are right up to you but if u turn around and they were close anyway they still only manage to get up infront of you how does that work.

  • so amazing. gave me the piss-jidders i was stupid enough to watch it LAST NIGHT but so great, great monsters

  • Man, these angels are jerks. Only way to beat them is to either trick them into looking at each other, or drop them into a crack in space-time to erase them from reality!

  • @YanYan108 I always wondered why the didn't break out a sledgehammer.

  • @YanYan108 Putting a mirror in front of them will also work. How? "The image of an Angel becomes itself an Angel."

  • @arcuesfanatic Well said :D

  • @arcuesfanatic Well, that wasn't written at the time this episode was, but think about it: then you'd have the old angel and the newly-made angel facing eachother, freezing them in place. It'd work whether that "image of an angel" clause is in effect or not :]

  • One of my favorite scenes from that entire season!

  • I like the about 3:23 that is when Larry really gets the gravity of the situation.

Oh and to the Darlek and Cyberman meet an angel you get two new angels because they be converted to an angel

  • Those damned angels literally gave me nightmares! What a clever idea to create these monsters.

  • Blink and the empty child are the scariest episodes of doctor who

  • @smileyfries101 Empty child i will agree on but not the weeping angels that wasnt actually scary, more deviant and makes you wonder if maybe it is possible.

  • actually you can kill a stone just take a sledge hammer to them

  • @Azrael666Azazel if it's not alive it can't be killed. Destroyed, yes. Killed, no.

  • @nommnincsa But... wouldn't it die when you look away? From, you know, being-in-a-million-piece-itis?

  • @QuikVidGuy Sort of, but I think when you look away it can rebuild itself or something. I only think this because otherwise they would just smash them and everyone would be fine. Plus, whatever you hit them with may be thrown into the past like everyone it "kills." That's just my thoughts.

  • When he was sayng "But then you turn your head away, then you blink, and oh yes it can." I said it at the same time and my mum said "Pardon?" and I said "No not you him!" and pointed at the computer, and I heard her mutter under her breath"Crazy."

  • i nearly shit my pants watching this episode

  • I wonder what would happen if a Weeping Angel met a Cyberman or a Dalek?

  • @ilikethecoke I bet t would go something like the cyberman and dalek are fighting and then the angel just goes and snaps off the daleks eyestock and snaps off the cybermans head when the both of them were looking away. Angels pwn all but the doctor XD

  • @ilikethecoke Dalek kills Cyberman we know that, but a dalek is surprisingly sluggish for it advances in technology and as a result, the weeping angel would win i think..hope so :D

  • GOD, I love this episode!!

  • One of my favorite Dr. clips

  • By HECK this episode scares me!

  • around 3:44 he goes a little scottish for a second

  • My favourite episode

  • Perfect for Halloween.

  • This is my favorite episode of Doctor Who!!!! This is also the same episode I show everyone when it's their first time watching the show.

  • One of the best of the new "Doctor Who" episodes and one that is a standalone which means if you're not up-to-speed on the show you can still enjoy this episode alone. My nephew saw this episode a few years ago and got hooked on the series. Now we watch it together !

  • I love when Martha pops in. Gosh, I love her.

  • It doesn't really start getting good untill 0:20. I like to skip to that

  • The regular events of series 3 takes place in 2008 (due to Doctor accidentally skipping one year ahead as seen series 1's Aliens in London). Since this event takes place in 2007, this occurs when Martha still hasn't met Doctor and Doctor was still traveling with Rose around this time. The episode returns to its regular year 2008 at the end when Sally meets Doctor. The new show has been one year ahead of the viewers until series 5 settled down in the same year as the viewers, 2010.

  • I suess if you had lots of people and a sledgehammer you could destroy it. Get a couple to bash it etc and the others to kep watching it! lol. you can tell I've thought this througH! For ages I've been terrified they'd come and get me because I knew about them!

  • actually...there is a place online that does sell a t-shirt that says, "The Angels Have The Phonebox" and it shows the weeping angels with the TARDIS. i got tempted to buy the t-shirt. XD
