  • and he plays the entire song with no low E.....quality!

  • espectacular esos tresmonstruos que ya no nos acompañan , cozy, gary y thin...

  • God bless Gazza, Worlds a poorer place without ya! you're music will live forever!

  • let rock roll

  • eargasm!!!!!!!

  • Best version of this song EVER!

  • what year is this?

  • @tathagata40 9th January 1979.

  • @benchamp killer. thanks man!

  • the Guitar solos are genius..........!!!!!

  • I remember this from the time, so great.

  • I can only see 5 guitar strings on Moore's guitar in 1:10

  • @HAJHAJJJJ yeah, he broke a string during back on the streets, the song they played before this one.

  • Awsome and Incredible in full measures!

  • Imagine them like ordinary irish folks, from some local pub, getin' to a car and entering a building...and then, showing up at this stage,in all shiny clothes, tearing the speakers apart. :)))

  • a gary moore le falta la 6ta cuerda xDD

  • I see this video for the first time

    I like it very much

How could Gary Moore play so well with a broken 6th String.

  • does this guy G. Moore play anything but minor-progressions blues?

and to play bass with a plectrum should be penalized and outlawed- just my humble 7 cents

  • @infracaca Gary Moore played anything he wanted

  • @infracaca Your opinion is moot. Moore is a guitar genius, and Phil Lynott plays with a pick because that's his style.

  • @infracaca Gary played a number of different styles and as a bassist who plays with fingers and a plectrum I would totally disagree and so would a number of the greatest bassists ever.

  • I prefer this over the original, though both are awesome. There's something about that slow, smooth, jazzy bass combined with the reverb and tone of the guitar. Very chill.

  • Classic Rip Phil Gary missed

  • ..it was meant to be broken

  • your vid of this song has the best sound..thanks.. LIZZY RULES

  • 1:20 gary broke a string

  • Great guitar sound...

  • At 1:30 you can see Gary's bottom E string is broken. Rocking too hard.

  • It seems our good friend Gary Moore is passing on a message to the next bastards that dislike this video at 2:24

  • @vazkilzan classic man y made me laugh

  • @vazkilzan classic man you made me laugh

  • This is freaking wonderful...amazing...R.I.P Phil and Gary Gone to soon, and missed everyday!!!!!!!

  • This is the best live performance of the song I have seen.

  • OH MY GOD THE END IS AMAZING

  • God DAMMIT Gary could fucking play!

  • gary is tat good he can play with only 5 strings =)

  • is that gary moore???

  • To me Phil always looked like a football player that happened to play the bass really good.

  • PHORRAAAAA !!!! PHILL THIN LIZZY THIN LYZZY THIN LIZZY THIN LIZZY THIN LIZZY THIN LIZZY THIN LIZZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its really doesnt get any better than this performance

  • Gary Moore and all his friends from Thin Lizzy and also Cozy Powell. I bought the Old Grey Whistle Test 4 disc DVD. This part will surely need replacing soon. Stop to take in 3 important RIPs. then turn it up loud. With all respect.

  • brilliant

  • Gary's throwing EVERYTHING into this song...nearly falls over doing it! Fantastic!!! Great blues lick at 01:15 and 01:48 and again 02:12

This is what I like about live music...gary is immersed in the music.

PS: Is it a tradition that keyboardplayers wear such jackets?

  • JASUS we dont hav a dasent rocker left in Ireland Phil Gary Rory all gone 2 the big gig in the sky

  • fuck the like button, where the FUCKING EPIC DRUMMING BUTTON?

at 01:09 i thought, "ooh, nice fill while GM holds the bend"

at 01:27 i thought "fuck, this is going to be epic"

at 01:29 i actually came like the falls after CP threw in the 3 kicks.

this guy's drumming is as tight as a nun's arsehole.

having left space for each other beautifully, at 01:39 they accompany each other. Then at 01:45 they finish off together, like two horny lovers nailing the fuck out of the song.

  • nahh wouldnt really say it was Lizzy without Brian its like Fleetwood mac without Mick Fleetwood

  • @MotorheadDrew I meant in terms of numbers rather than in terms of soul/personality of the band, as everyone in the video was a member of Thin Lizzy at one point or another even though it isn't a Lizzy performance. Hope that clears things up!

  • @benchamp yoo i didnt mean it like that, just saying, i know it says Gary moore & Friends but its like gary moore was only in it briefly and everyone seems to just Think Just Phil Is Thin Lizzy but Brian was the only drummer they had aswell

  • @MotorheadDrew In that case, totally agree. Good point well made.

  • @MotorheadDrew Cozy and Don were never in Thin Lizzy.

  • @SnakeRambo i know i pretty much already said that

  • @MotorheadDrew yeah!!! =)

  • I remember when Cozy died ! It made the national news ! Shows how much respect he had in the music biz !! Phil and now Gary....! Remember learning the "Shapes Of Things" solo with the aid of tableture and a live TV performance I recorded ! Took me ages to get it to sound even nearly as good as Gary ! Thanks Gary,Phil and Cozy for so many EPIC recordings and concerts !!Peace Ye`all !!

  • Thank Jmi Hendrix for turning up the guitar sound so we cloud lissen to Guitar god Gary Rip and Phil :Miss you both

  • do you notice that garys guitar has no top E string ?

  • is that peter green's guitar yeah? if it is then he certainly gives it justice!

  • don't know if he meant to do it, but Gary Moore flipped the bird there in the video! Cool version of the song too.

  • thanks so much for uploading

Thanks for all the great music man.You taught me a lot just hearing you play.

  • Only 58.......Way too soon.....RIP........

  • R.I.P.

  • Gary Moore - one of the greatest Blues Guitar players ever to come out of Belfast - I can't quite believe I'll never get to see this top musician on stage again He played that Les Paul with great soul and was in part, responsible for Peter Green making a comeback in the late 90s Another musician who will be sorely missed by Blues fans

  • smoking guitar

  • This is the first song I think of when someone mentions Gary Moore even if it's Thin Lizzy. His solo here just shows so much emotion and that's the true meaning of blues. R.I.P Gary Moore.

  • RIP Gary,Phil and Cozy :(

  • Cozy on drums, Phil on Bass, Gary on guitar... All gone now...

  • RIP Gary, Really nice tribute clip.

  • thanks for posting this man. First thing I searched for when I just heard the news now. I think I heard Gary Moore more than any other guitartist, being a complete blues and blues/rock worshipper, he got my total respect. I literally played Blues Alive until the CD bled. His music got me through so much. Ahh shit I give up, can't find any words.
