An interesting review, sir. I very much enjoyed it. However, would you mind reminding me of the article concerning Dr. Manhattan you mentioned in this particular part of your review. I am having a hard time understanding its title and the name of its author. Thank you in advance.
Didn't Rorschach compromise the day he started killing people? I personally think he was more similar to Adrian than he realized (more than any other character in the story), which is interesting because they stand as the polar adversaries to one another. Kill few for the benefit of the many. The difference is only in who they deem to be necessary to die.
or maybe manhattan does know what veidt will do or fractions of it but chooses not to say or do anything about it because he believes its inevitable, much like in the comic he chooses not to say or do anything about JFK´s death
This is an EPIC review...and an amazing graphic novel/movie. Fantastic, deep, and reflective of the human experience. That's the smallest I can narrow it down to.
The comedian didnt rape sally jupiter. it was attempted rape. she was depressed and desperate and chose to let him "finish the job" later on as state by her husband. laurie was born out of the contradiction that sally loved a man that she had every reason to hate.
The fact that Veidt's superhero name is "Ozymandias" is pretty good evidence that his scheme doesn't work out in the long run (since "it never ends"), given the reference to the famous Shelley poem.
I always thought he was based off of batman, not entirely in attitude but in the life he choose aka spending his wealth on gadgets etc. and even being a completely different person in costume, he's almost like a batman in another dimension
Though I know it was released reasonably recently, could you please do a rewind on The Dark Knight? It would probably take an hour and multiple episodes to fully explain, it would probably be my favorite since it has such complex messages.
Dang this is getting long! As I said in another comment I think of Dan as more of the hero or more heroic thinking of them all as he not as crazy as the others!
Wasnt the contradiction not that Laurie was the product of rape, but because her mother went back to Eddie and loved him even after the rape? I thought Sally got pregnant from having sex with Eddie after the rape?
@scott102590 She did! I mean she got pregnant after having conventional sex with him! Laurie wasn't conceived during the rape as that hooded guy pulled him off her before I think... anything happened!

*"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.*

You know, i always thought that the sex scene was just for kicks and giggles, but I never thought of it relating to Nite Owls character arc

09:15 well the Owl is inspirated by the Blue Beetle just like dr. Manhattan was inspired by Captein Atom, and roschark was inspired by Mister A.
All of witch are created by Steve Ditko by the way.
