  • I know 20 this girl sux

  • @GameRelatedStuff Upload your video, you moron.

  • Liked her Japanese :D

  • The key is when she says "it's fun!". She is a prodigy because so early in life she is excited about learning.

  • This kid is a genius, i wonder what's her IQ level.....

  • im very inspired by Wendy, keep doing what you do, if it keeps you happy.

  • Habla como si se hubiera aprendido todo de memoria...

  • No. Her Vietnamese.

  • Her Japanese is speaking is perfect... She was reading Japanese hiragana writing which she also perfected...Her "Japanese" sequence of reading & turning the page were right on target.... Amazing.

  • Damnnnn... Fantastic! :)

  • WOW, her spanish pronounciation is almost perfect!!! *o*

  • People say she's not that good in this language or that language but duh, she is a child. I saw a bbc program with a bit about her in the other day and they described her as fluent in 3 languages, and with a speaking ability beyond the average student of a 2nd language at her age for 5 others and as being a competent student of a further 3.

No matter how you measure it that is AWESOME!

  • "reminding us of what..."

  • A fantastic video reminding us what language learning should be about: having fun and communicating with people. This little girl is a real gem and she obviously is incredibly bright. I hope she won't let anybody take away that wonderful spirit from her. What a nice, cute and bright girl! Hats off!

  • My Lord, I wish I could do that.

  • Man! at least our people has a prodigy...So proud!

  • you should try Danish. It screws me up

  • I'm Viet too.

    Soo cute

  • wow!!! i am 11 now and that was when i was 8 and now i realize that wow i was fat!!!

  • @wendyvo100 r u really wendy vo or r u just lying??

  • who the heck can sit through this... I take her word for it. LOL I could only sit through 2 mins of that crap

  • If the mother is a polygot, obviously the child will be able to speak that many languages if the mother is dedicated to having her learn them.

  • AMAZING GIRL!

  • naniiiiiiiiiiii

  • @konoha4dawin am I correct in thinking this reads 'Whattttttttt'? Just testing my japanese...:-)

  • doesnt this just wants to make u scream to heaven ; WHERE WAS MY PART OF SMARTNESS??

probably forgot mine and just gave it to Wendy...snif

  • WOW SHE SPEAKS SPANISH BETTER THAN ME AND IM LATINO HAHAHA

  • Check out our story about Wendy on Tootlee.com! We feature stories of amazing, incredible, smart, and interesting kids...and Wendy is one of them.

  • Thật là vinh dự có 1 em bé Việt Nam tài giỏi thế nầy! Nói được 11 sinh ngữ mà còn đàn piano giỏi nửavà viết nhạc cho chính mình.

  • I love you sweetheart. You are so cute. God bless u. I guess he already has :)

  • Yes! It's funnnn

  • Where was she when i was stuck in my exams xD

  • wth this is crazy smart girl

  • I seriously doubt that she can speak them all fluently.

  • It'll be great if she can do a Mexican accent

  • sHE SHOULD WORK AS A TRANSLATOR AT THE UN

  • love her little giggle. :)

  • AH! This is amazinggggggg! I wish I was like her as a kid.

Better yet, I wonder, since this was like 2 1/2 years ago, how she has progressed!!

Are there any videos of her nowadays?

  • wait. you mentioned chinese mandarin and cantonese? technically chinese is distinguished officially as mandarin, but also include cantonese, hakka, xiang, taiwanese and gan as subsets. you have to either take chinese out which would reduce it to 10 languages or keep chinese and take out cantonese and mandarin out which will reduce it to 9 languages.

  • @Xytos 1.Vietnamese 2.English 3. Spanish 4.Mandarin Chinese 5.French 6.Japanese 7.Hindi 8. Arabic 9.Russian 10.Cantonese 11.Portuguese.

    9? 10? 11? who cares? It's impressive for an 8 year old..

  • Such a wonderful, intelligent little girl. I wish her all the best--in all her doings and learning.

  • I think it would be more impressive if they treated tha girl for her constant cough :-/ She doesnt stop. If she´s so important, sort that out like any child should be treated for! Sorry to blab. Just a side comment. Very bright and cute young girl though :-) I´m also very jealous.

  • amazing!

  • Even if you had the money to pay 11 tutors, I doubt you could do that with any child.

When a kid can learn languages so easily (look at her playing piano !), you should recognize she is a prodigy.

She does 'nt seem to force herself.

  • @lolocemoi Yeah, true. Plus, these parents must have money because tutors are hella expensive. I had one before.

  • Who's that talking to her in the video? o___O

  • dios mio tantos idiomas habla

    quiero una hija asi XD

  • wow she speaks like a hispanic kid in spanish. Just like her age, sooo cute!@!@ I only know english, spanish and semi fluent korean i can understand some portuguese and some japanese but spoken. Holy crap I wish I could have learned earlier!

  • and what about being a kid can she do that too? lol

  • eleven languages??

my parents come from vietnam ,too but i speak vietnamese like a dog :P xD

i want her brain ...just a bit :D

  • I want my kids to be like that!!

  • I love her when she said that her favorite language is vietnamese because it's her parent's language. Good for her...Never forget our roots whenever we are .

  • the mums the smart one

  • wow. i love her. when she sneezed in the beginning i was like AWE<3

i wish i knew what was going on after she was talking in english and spanish..

  • Man.... when I was 16 I decided to know 10 languages by the time I was 30. I'm 23 now and know 6... this girl is really smart! She is my Hero event though I am about 15 years older XD

  • your goal sounds exactly like mine

  • wow, she's so smart!! i wish i could speak more languages!!~

  • She makes me proud to be a Vietnamese. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • And I thought speaking French, English and a little bit of Spanish was a lot... But that's true that kids learn much faster than older people. I learned English in three years, from 10 to 13 years old !!

  • u mean to fluency, or to the level of a native speaker, as there is a big difference between the two

  • she's got to be super intelligent

  • lol..1 I want to be half of her talent..

  • The funny thing is you really couldn't lol I'd put money on it

  • I don't know what I said, but whatever it was, it was probably awesome and I'll take whatever bet it is you're making because you look and sound like an idiot. I'd put money on the fact that you didn't finish 3rd grade.

  • You're making it worse for yourself please stop lol. If you're going to try and make some smart ass reply, at least make the effort to look at your previous post so you know what the fuck you're talking about lol.

  • @koukides666 People are just hating on you.. It's true though.. They ask her the same questions in different languages. I mean, she's damn smart.. but they make it sound like she can go to any of these countries and get by.. natives don't speak clearly, and use slang..

  • now you don't see that everyday

  • impressed

  • Awesome kid.

  • So proud of you, vnmese child! :*

  • lamafo 11 lanuges!

  • I can barely speak one language...lol

  • wish i was a prodigy now

  • what in the world does chubby have to do with anything?

are u saying its difficult for cubby people to be talented? lol

  • bahaha this is true...

maybe people as smart as her dont need to be healthy? haha

  • nah not really..

  • hmm she better get on that then....

  • how does she find the time to even learn??? wow amazing!

  • I think that she might actually see the world as having one language, she is learning them all slowly, in her mind it is like one language... actually she is learning them at light speed compared to any human!

  • Impressive!! For an eight year!! Actually very impressive for a human being!!!

  • she speaks arabic with an egyptian accent.. it's pretty good.. but i think she needs a better arabic teacher because she is picking her mistakes.. it is a bit obvious that she is a quick learner.. Careful mama.. god bless you ^^

  • Impresionante!!!

  • She owns o_o very good spanish, and japanesse,i just speak english and spanish o.o

  • ca me dépresse qu'elle parle toutes ses langues parfaitement. C qui la personne qui la fait apprendre?

  • amazing!!she's brilliant!!

  • On my list of languages I'm trying to learn from most important to least I have Japanese, Welsh, German, Italian and I might learn some other Asian languages at some point. I need Chinese characters for Japanese anyway.

  • @tokuanimecitvguy You have Welsh as one of your "most important" languages? lol.. I mean, by all means.. I think it's a cool language.. but not too many people speak it.

  • I'm half Welsh, that's why. But I'm trying to concentrate on Japanese at the moment cause I'm planning to move there.

  • 11 languages. Wow, kids really have a capacity for language, and she's brilliant. I only know english, but I really want to learn spanish and german... D: there are so many cool languages out there I will never know.

  • i know english and spanish, trying to learn italian, then french, then german

  • yes i really like it its fun

    CHEESYYYY

  • amazing.. my son speaks/understands english, hmong, a little spanish and a little cambodian... but this girl... wow...

  • i know 4 languages. English,Mandarin,Cantonese, and Fujanese.

  • Yep I'm Chinese. Yeah it's not really hard, but now I can add one more lol Spanish.

  • I speak spanish, and I am trying to learn Chinese (mandarin)...

Did you had trouble learning spanish? because in my case, the pronunciation part is getting pretty hard ^___^

  • I love arabic language

  • She speaks very good spanish my god!

  • How did she learn all that?

  • sure... idiot...

  • It's impressive how she speaks fluent Japanese and english. The woman interviews her in Egyptian slang, which a little bit different than classic arbaic, anyway Wendy replies in prefect Egyptian!!! She is a treasure of our species!!!

  • That's impressive

  • Good Little mighty woman, you are the most wonderful person I hve ever seen at the age of 8. Long Live..

  • I wish....so much that my parents encouraged me to learn languages at a younger age =/

I can only speak 3 languages.

    this is seriously AMAZING.

  • Impressive, but she's obviously being made to study with language tutors all these languages. If she really enjoys it and isn't pressured into this it's cool. Her Japanese is pretty good (it took me several years to get to her level and that's the only language I speak aside from English)!

  • @virileboy Yeah, her daddy obviously has money to afford tutors for 11 languages.. There are a lot of kids who could do the same, but don't have the means to do so..

  • ya bamos nosotro

  • I am a Spanish man, and I want to say:

English countries won language war. It was destiny. Now, rest of countries must learning English.

But England and U.S.A. people must to learn Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanise, etc. Please, choose your favorite language and learn by yourself. Goberments don´t care about it. They all wants sheeps.

  • ENGLISH is a great language, people just don't read real English nby Great Poets and Writters.

  • habla un español LATINO muy bueno, incluso mejor que su profesora, que dice (mal expresado en España y creo que en español latino también): "hablas mayor de tu edad". Saying this In english, it is correct, I think: "you speak older your age".

Dice Wendy Vo "tengo un hermano que no obedece a mí".

La corrección es "tengo un hermano que no me obecece".

    La falta es muy leve.

    La pronunciación es buena.

    Y en lectura es perfecta.

  • She is amazing...no question about that.

  • haa ha hahaa! She is soooo adorable! ^O^

  • Of course it's easier to learn at that age.. Especially when you have parents who encourage you and help you. Sorry, but here in America, our parents don't really give a shit about teaching us other languages.. They would rather have us play football and baseball, which are worthless, unless you are good enough to get a scholarship or go pro. And not every little kid can learn another language.. Some kids are meant to work at McDonald's.. while other's are smart, like this one. She is lucky.

  • its embarrassing goig to another country, or having exchange students, because they speak fluently in at least 2 language, and we Americans dont care about even knowing correct grammar in English.

  • You are right.. Exchange students laugh at us because we are so stupid and ignorant.. Our school work is so easy for them, that it is serious like repeating the 6th grade for them, even though they are in high school.. it's crazy.. Americans are seriously fucking retarded, hands down.. And can't even locate countries on a map.. I had the top grade in my college Spanish class with a 98%, and half the class was Mexican.. and spoke Spanish at home.. some didn't even speak English for Christ's sake.

  • When you say "we Americans don't care about even knowing correct grammar in English", though, you need to remember that that is the case in many, many languages.

  • You're right - once you know a language well, you can understand it whether the grammar is correct or not, so no one really bothers to know what's right and what's wrong. =)

  • But I totally agree, I really wish I had been introduced to other languages earlier.

  • stop judging she's only 8 its already amazing how much she knows.

  • CUTE!!かわいいですね!

  • To the people mulling over the fact that she's learnt eleven languages; during a childs age of 2-10, it is /much/ easier to pick up a language than it would be for say, a 18-year old. It's due to how the childs brain is developing at that stage: 2-10 is known as the 'sampling' years, whereby children are very easily able to pick up motor patterns.

  • tgunnn- true- It would be so much better if public schools starting teaching a 2nd language in elementary school-even if for only 1 hour a week- instead of starting it in middle or even high school. Children would pick up the language so much faster and easier. I took 4 years of French, 7th grade through 10th. I can not speak a full sentence of French (I am 57). I really didn't learn the language in those 4years. I am sure the way language is taught now IS different.

  • It would be much easier, but with the school system as is, kids are already being overloaded with information. However, your idea isn't far from what would work; one or two hours a week, or thirty minutes a day (just have them do a worksheet each day, or have thirty minutes where they're only allowed to speak in a certain language) and they would all end up fluent in said language. I know how you feel; I attempted to learn Japanese and French in my years of high school. Wouldn't work very well.

  • she is real wooooooooooooooooooow

  • I wonder how she learned them all at such a young age

  • omg, she yells so loud when she asks: "what?"

  • I love how she always says "oh" :D

  • I don't know about the other languages, but she might need to practice her japanese a bit more to get the intonation correct. She didn't say much, and she kept on yelling 'WHAT?' It amazes me how she fits all these languages in her head.

  • Wendy, don't you think you'd better spend more time composing music. Don't waste that talent. Looking forward to hearing your new song.

  • holy blajeepers! i wish i could do that :{

  • i am proud to be Vietnamese

  • 弟は一人です?

    弟が一人います。

  • Jeeze all I can put down on my resume is English and Ebonics hahahaha

  • What an adorable chubby little girl ( ^-^ )

  • imagine her resume for a job or college. when shes in high school she might more languages and know like 25 languages all jobs will want her

  • an indigo child?

  • She is what you call a GENIUS.

  • wow what an incredibly amazing child--kudos to her parents for raising such a fantastic child-may God bless her

  • sarmiento (her spanish is ok?) OK?? Are you for real?? This child is 8 years old!!!!!! did u here her japanese, arabic, russian....

To Wendy's parents, how did you do it.....We speak 7 languages in our home. That's because everyone speaks it. But how did you folks do this.

What I loved best about Wendy is that, she is not only a genius...she is a HAPPY, LIVELY child, obviously enjoying herself to the hilt!

    God bless

  • Fantastic! God bless Wendy & her family :D

  • 2:06

  • Some accent there, but she will probably speak it fluently later, she speaks 11 languages and composes music nice, I can only speak 4 languages and I got no talent for composing music XD

  • It's a lot easier for a child to learn multiple languages when they are young. Their minds are developing and they retain information a lot better than a fully developed brain.

I picked up Viet from my mom and Canto from my dad, and English from school and my brothers. I'm taking a Korean class, and I wish I was introduced to Korean when I was a kid.

But damn! This girl knows 11 languages and is a music prodigy?!? She's certainly special...

  • wow, i wish i was as smart,

  • Lol!! NAANIIIIIIII! How cute.

  • How do you learn that many languages in only 8 years???!!!!?!?!?

  • damn!this child is my model :D

  • Can somebody please pass this amazing kid a kleenex? :)

  • impressed...her spanish is ok...but her english is perfect!

  • omg !!!! unbelievable

  • o my gosh are you serious?!?!?!?!??! she can read and speak 11 languages?!?!?!?!?! dang she is so gifted. i only know one language and i still have trouble with it...haha! and she knows music? dang im jealous!!!

  • this kid make me look so dumb.,i can only speak 2 language english and tagalog(filipino)

  • *liberating

  • Adorable Wendy Vo!

I can verify her command in English and Japanese. I wish she had spoken Vietnamese in this clip.

  • she's pretty good in spanish too, she doesnt have an specific accent like most non-native speakers do (of course sha has an accent, but I cannot tell what kind)

    she's such a sweet girl :)

  • i gess most the time, the accents you heard were because of the child 's accent, especially she is only 8 yrs old. i suppose she is influent in every languages she speaks. for i can see she speaks her own language, vietnamese very fluently and still has some accent. and that's very normal. she is a great talented girl. good job Wendy!

  • Man this child has some weird idiosyncrasies. LOL :) still, cool kid.

  • I can verify that she is fluent in English and Ok in Arabic.
