This guy is talking out his bottom lol. Garbo longed to do this movie.It was a pet project for years.James Mason was already cast and they were ready to go....she submitted to tests that the Italian money men insisted on...and at the very last minute..they pulled out. It was not her choice to leave the screen. Lucino Visconti cast her in a movie in the 70s ( A la recherche Du Temps Perdu) . Somewhere in another garage lie those colour screen tests...

Even in "Test Footage", Greta Garbo looked perfect!

My god...every time I see something like this I wonder--and I wonder this as someone who has stayed *away* from film and enjoyment of film all his life for a variety of reasons--how much of this is a put on and how much of this is Greta doing her thing? Being herself I mean? Because I know as a writer, every character speaks for some part of me. So Greta had to put some part of her "self" into this. No actor is a truly blank slate, what fun would that be?

Lot of mistakes here. There is indeed footage of Garbo after this test. She was stalked and footage of her shopping around town in the 1970's was ultimately thrown into a gay porn film called "Adam & Yves" in 1974.
