Why would the Americans want to do a version of this? Because - Americans cant think for themselves. Theyre constantly ripping off other countries' shows and movies. Its nothing new.
ya'll should calm down,. this isnt the first time a show or movie was taken from another country or whatevs and been put out by another. they probably made an american version because there are alot of terms the brits use that the americans just wouldnt understand and alot of them have trouble with the thick accents and cockney..ive checked out both shows and theyre both really good even tho ones a knockoff..people and their hatred man haha did the little girl pull out a leg of lamb?
Now, don't get me wrong, as an American I can say without a doubt that I love brittish TV show. You guys make the best shows, however, in this on instance I must say I do like the American version better. For some reason it just came together better, it looks a little more profesional... I don't know, but that's just my opinion. I'm not condoning the plaugerism, but I have to say the American one is very good. I laughed my ass off the whole time. So, give it a try.

They're planning on doing an American version of this. Now why the fuck would they do that when they could just show us the originial (and better) version of the show.
I live in America and I would watch this version, actually I have thanks to You Tube. I agree that the original Office is better than the American version but we are not used to the accent and it's difficult to follow sometimes. :-)
@ssoibleman Understood. Like the accents in The Wire are difficult to follow at times for non-American viewers. But if you keep watching, it becomes easier. If you don't, you're ruling yourself out of a lot of good stuff.

The American version of whatever show that we "borrow" (that term used as loosely as possible) 8 times out of 10 turns out to be shitty. I think if they don't change the story (aside from making the setting in different locations, that's justifiable), it could be better. The one I described being one of them and also I think they brought Monica too soon. I could go on but I'm running out of characters.
