you know, locks of love is a sham. they don't donate hair to bald cancer kids, they SELL hair to kids with alcopecia. most of the time, they sell donated hair to wig companies for a profit. you're better off selling your hair and donating the money to a charity of your choice.
Joining the Army, Brain Surgery and Romantic Break-ups are understandable reasons for a woman to cut off long hair; but Locks of Love is the DEFINITIVE Reason to do so. I say go all out! And if you're also considering a new style, I think you might look good with Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane look. But unless you want to make the biggest donation you can. Don't go Sinead O'Connor
Locks of Love is a fraud. They don't meet the Better Business Bureau's Standards for Charity Accountability. LoL have stated that they collect around 2000 ponytails a week, that's over 100,000 ponytails a year. They say it takes 6 to 10 ponytails to make one wig. If we say 10 that would be over 10,000 wigs per year. The have been in business since 1997 and have only made over 2000 wigs in over 10 years. Less than 1% goes to alopecia patients (NOT cancer patients) and even that has to be paid.
I do Locks of Love every 4 years or so. I have sent enough hair for 2 wigs, so far! I can grow a good crop of hair, and it keeps growing - so it isn't short for very long.
Bottom line is you should do what makes you happy. Your hair looks great, but if you feel strongly that you should donate it to Locks of Love, and if it's bothering you besides, then perhaps you should cut it. It really does sound like a very good cause.
I think long hair is great, but in the end it always grows back! Sounds like you've convinced yourself of the con's, and you have an excellent plan set out for what you would do it. I'd say go for it; you only live once and it would help out a lot! :) Thanks for sharing - 5*
Give them some money instead! Its more important to support for new medicin than hair! if they find a new kind of medicin, then maybe "kemoterapi"(not sure how to spell that)wont make them lose their hair:)
but what about those who dont have hair now. one of my friends had cancer and it helped her to have a wig. people stopped look at her different because she had cancer. I would deffinately recoment cutting it. infact today I am getting my hair cut for locks of love. though I do agree that it would be good to donate money
We vote for you to donate to locks of love. Christopher is 12 and he decided 6 months ago to not cut his hair for 2 years and donate what he grows out to locks of love. We admire him for making that decision. He is keeping his word even though his friends in middle school make fun of his long hair. We bet you would look stunning and younger with shorter hair!! Good luck whatever you decide! ~Michelle Marie and Mom
CUT! Locks of Love is a great organization. I use to cut hair for a living in my early 20's. You can still have long or longer hair but not as long as it is now because of the hassles!
Locks of love is awesome, do what you feel is best for you. we could tell you to cut or not to cut your hair. but in the end its more about how you feel about it and what you want. so sorry about your mom, my mom died may of 1999 from lung canser.
It is a worthy cause so I don't want to say no, but...Your hair is naturally wavy and thick. It won't sit right if it's short - believe me, I know! I had a bad hair decade. (Welcome to YouTube! 5*****)
I have long hair...debating whether on not I should cut it...I may do it, not sure when..It depends on how you feel. Try putting your hair up in different ways. Good luck with your decision.
I know everybody is saying do it, DON'T. Simply go to google and type in "Locks of Love scam." A billion hits. Locks of Love sells 99% of hair they receive (I know, I did the math). You have a 1 chance out of 100 that it will be used. Even when it is used, the wigs aren't free (and if you ask me they look kind of crappy). They don't even go to kids with cancer (kids with alopecia areata). If you are going to cut your hair, sell it instead. Then at least you'll make some money!
I had my hair long since the 9th grade. I'm now almost 30 yrs old & had just cut it all off about a year ago. It actually feels Great not to have all that hair anymore. My friends & family say that I look allot better with no hair. Anyway, it was a hard decision for me to make so I know how you feel. I would say in your case, It will probably grow back so, if it will help other people 'Go For It'! You might decide that you like it better short. Well, Good Luck! I hope that helped.

Vids like this tend to bring tears to my eyes. Donating your hair like that, I can understand is not easy, as like you say it takes a long time for it to grow. My daughter who is now 17 has donated her hair twice to Locks Of Love. the first time she donated was her first haircut ever. She gave 12 inches. The second time, not too long ago she had enough to give 14. She has never regretted doing this.
That is really Nice of You to Even Consider Donating for such a Good Cause:)Either Way You Look Awesome:)Peace and Happiness:)Tell KK Randy Said Hello:)Oh and My Greandmother also Passed 10 Years Ago,She Beat Cancer,Then the Hospital Gave her Electroshock Treatment without Our permission and it Killed Her,they Had to Hold Me Down Because I wanted to Tourch the Entire Hospital,But I Believe She is in a Better Place,Guiding my family and Myself:)So I Live For Her:)

i think the locks of love idea is a great idea! you have beautiful hair BUT i bet it has been years since youve cut it, and you would be surprised at how good a change always makes you feel!
You would think after 100 years they would have come up with something but no its a money racket too much money for the drug companies to come up with a solution. Oh I could go on and on but I cant type.LOL.
Thank you miss kitty Im so glad you have a new Vlog I needed to get that off my chest.
I say no Its just my opinion you can always tie it back to keep it out of your way and the locks for love thing is a good idea but what they dont tell you is they get as high as $10,000 dollars for your hair and not a penny goes to a real solution to fighting cancer. My brother died from luekemia and Im sick of this donate to cancer crap when your laying in the hospital and they wont even touch you because you dont have enough money. Where do the millions upon millions go then?
This is a good cause. Also you have a nice face & features why not liberate your self and have a change. I personally had great hair, however I decided years ago to listen to my hairdresser it kind of dates and ages you. Also I went blonde and am never going back to black my natural colour. Woohoo Viv, how awesome to see you making vids...great job! :))) As far as your long luxoriously lucious hair, donating it to "Locks of Love" has your name written all over it ;) IMHO you'll look fabulous with a new "do" especially something that will call attention to those gorgeous sparkly eyes of yours. :)) Muahhhhhh
Hi Tobie, although you look great with the long hair, I vote to cut it too. It is such a worthy cause (Locks of Love) It will grow back if you don't like it. Welcome to You Tube.
Vivvy! You did a videooo. Locks of love is an awesome cause! My daughter donated 10 inches on her 10th birthday and she looked adorable with her new cut. I think you should go for it! Make a video! Much luv to ya hun!
Hey Robyn ! That was such an awesome video of your daughter she looks like her mamma ! She does have a huge heart foe sure! I may be a little too old to be adorable though LOL!
Let me tell you: Until it is actually cut you will be nervous. Until Terry says it isn't 'that bad' you will be nervous. And he will say that. (He'd better!!!)
i cut all mine off. I dont regret it. It will always grow back if you dont like it. Just get them to do some sort of style that they think will suit the shape of your face. The cause seems really good! Go for it :) you have a pretty face so cant see it looking bad.
I'd go for it! I used to have long hair too for the longest time. But when I started chemo the nurses recommended I get it cut..short. Let me tell you, it was the best thing! So comfortable, easy to manage...and you'd be doing it for a good cause...good luck with your choice!

it is a good cause, so if you feel you should than go ahead, you know in your heart what to do:)it ll grow again, maybe even nicer:)
Hey Miss Kitty! I wanted to give you my opinion on this because I donated 10" of my hair to "locks of love" in Apr. 07. I think you should definitely do it and you will probably love it at first.. I did! But after 3-4 months I did miss my long hair and have ever since. Also ... eventhough you have 12" you can donate... only let them cut 10" because they take off alot more than just the donation to style the new haircut! GO FOR IT!
I dont regret it, my hair has grown back alot n 1 yr
I know a couple people who have done that. The one guy I know has done it several times now. I would cut it. It can't hurt and it always grows back. You might like it better, you will never know unless you try.
Finally ! channel tobie is on the air! Great job doing Vid. Your accent is cool. I was expecting some cool sign off hook like, " Gotta go now the kat wants in" lol. Re;Your Q. I like long hair but the times I do cut mine shorter, it is a relief for a while. Sounds like a nice time to cut it if you want. It is amazing, before long I am back to being the ol'hippie again in a year or so. Nice vid. Say hi to The Kat.for me. Aloha.
I'm Was born is South Carolina the accent kinda goes with it LOL! I love that hook line I may use that if you dont mid he is alwways taking the computer away LOL!

it is a good cause, so if you feel you should than go ahead, you know in your heart what to do:)it ll grow again, maybe even nicer:)

I'll definitely miss it ! I dont want to go too short since I inherited my dads ears ! Big is an understatement LOL! I wont do more than 10" for sure

Aloha.
