And in Entertainment industry, actor who can sing is a commodity. There are plenty of singers who can act in Asia, but there are very few actors/actresses who can sing. Jackie, though his voice was not great, could sing fairly well after intensive vocal lessons, that's why he gets to sing his own movies' theme songs. Of course his singing did get better and better which is very obvious if you compare his voice now to his singing way back then XD

I have to rebut RyaStorm's comment about Jackie Chan well known for his singing. He was NOT well-known for his singing... in fact he was told he could not carry a tune which is why he went acting instead. It was after he become famous as an action star that a record company went ahead and gave him a chance to record music which the reception was only lukewarm. But because Jackie loves to sing, he kept on taking more voice lessons to better his singing...

Well,I love his voice !Of course,his skills in kung fu fighting are incredible but even more so are his willingness to help others,his concern for the other actors in his films,so they don´t get hurt in the fight scenes,his sensitivity with his female fans,etc.To top it all,,he is an amazing comedian !

@Gwynsek Oh I like him too. I just have to be honest and let people know that he didn't get famous in Asia from singing. That's a misinformation. And they probably let him take a lot of the lead roles in Chinese dubbings are more because he has more experience in voice acting (Jackie Chan Adventures ring any bells? XD) than most other Chinese stars than anything else XD

@Gwynsek Actually... to be honest I would also still say he is not a great singer... and personally I do also like his Man Out of You better XD However I do like a few of the other ballad he sang. One is the ending song he sang for a TV drama in '94, the other is the theme song he sang for his movie The Myth.

Jackie's been singing since the 80's. In fact he's well known in China for his singing... which I'm guessing is why they used him for the chinese release. He sings most of the theme songs for his movies or has in the past in the chinese and canto releases, however they're usually cut when they're re-packaged and re-released in other countries outside of asia.
