A family member of an 86-year-old man that mysteriously vanished around April 14, along with the show's host and a cop investigating, took phone calls from people around the country and one person asked if the fellow's father was carrying a gun. Good parenting prevents kids from using guns stored in the home. I have many pistols, shotguns, and rifles. My shotguns and rifles are stored in my GUN SAFE. If you are dumb enough to leave a loaded weapon lying around where a kid can find it, it's your fault! Education is the key, not confiscation. What everyone here is saying is true. You have back ground checks on rifles. handguns and shotguns. You must be at least 21 years of age to buy ammo for a hand gun. As far as children finding these firearms, we have locked safes, trigger guard locks, and now some guns have built in "child safties." I have a Taurus Raging Bull .44 magnum that has this feature. With one turn of a tiny key, it becomes nothing more than a big, stainless steel hammer. It will NOT fire until you unlock it.

I just bought a fifle I had a background check, finger printed, Id'd, and a bunch of stuff.  So, they are they do regulate it and run back ground checks. You can get one if you are a felon. If you take it away the criminals will still get them and it will create a violent black market for them. They should not try to ban guns.
